1998 was an amazing year. Most of these games, maybe even all of them still hold up today.

Too bad the industry has changed so much for the worse in the passing years. We'll never have that golden era again.

Mini games look lame, but if the core wrestling gameplay is like No Mercy, we'll have a winner on our hands. I stopped liking the Smackdown! series after Here Comes The Pain, so WWE games stopped being interesting to me a very long time ago.

Hopefully this game can capture at least most of that AKI magic back on N64, because if it doesn't, it's going to be a disaster.

I just completed Telltale's Jurassic Park game, and thought it was a bit of a dud.

QTE is poor and boring game design, and 90% of the 'game play' is crappy QTEs. The story was okay, but they botched the ending by having it be so short. Only a minute long, for such a story-heavy game is unacceptable.

I wouldn't recommend it unless if you love QTEs and are a big Jurassic Park fanatic. The game is delisted now, so piracy is your only option. ...

I've played THPS 1+2 for almost 200 hours, just about to get the Platinum for reaching level 100. Good game, has some flaws, but still fun to play. This is a good month if you don't already own it.

Welcome to the club, I've been the founding member for the past 7 years, there's always room for more people who've finally realize what a shit-stain blight Ubisoft has willingly become.

This is shameful on both sides. Devs and pubs should never let this happen, and gamers shouldn't be doing this to themselves.

It's common sense (which we all know isn't that common) that if a game is free-to-play, then it's purposefully trying to screw you over. Have some will power, the bare minimum you can do is just play it for fun (as if these games are even fun, but that's another discussion), and don't give in to spending money.

Likely to 'casualize' the games so that people don't get frustrated and quit.
One of the things developers should do is offer different difficulty settings for puzzles instead of just combat.
Typically in gaming difficulty options only affects your health and enemy health + accuracy.
It would be nice to see a setting for the difficulty of puzzles as well, and you can simply select what you're more comfortable with. This way everyone gets the type of ...

I've played Sonic Origins on Switch, docked to my LG CX OLED TV. Without Black Frame Insertion, the game looks terrible. Its a blurry mess of vaseline smeared all over the screen during motion, when standing still it looks perfectly fine, so you won't notice it in screenshots. This doesn't apply to the 2011 Sonic CD Remaster on consoles or PC, where the game scrolls wonderfully well.

However, once I turn on Black Frame Insertion, it helps improve the blurriness ...

This is why I stopped buying Ubisoft games. I used to be a fan of their work, but no more.
Just copy paste drivel design, packed with filler designed to waste your time instead of offering interesting engagement.
Toss in a sloppy story with never ending cliffhangers that go nowhere, and you have the perfect Ubisoft recipe. Snooze.

Terrible news, but not shocking, unfortunately. Neversoft, the original creators of THPS also ended up as a support studio for Call of Duty, and then eventually shut down. So it only makes sense (in Activision's ass backwards twisted moronic logic) for Vicarious Visions to follow suit. Because of course.

SMDH!

Big fan of Crisis Core, glad to see it return.

I agree, ChubbyBlade, VerminSC is completely off the mark here. The generational jump between consoles has become smaller and smaller. The jump between PS1 / SAT / N64 and DC / PS2 / GCN / XBX was massive, and doing a remake from the one gen to the next, lead to visuals that were so far and beyond what was previously possible.

MGS PS1 to GCN.
RE PS1 to GCN.

The visual gulf between those games were absolutely huge and that alone could justify rema...

Unfortunate since the soundtrack is great. We'll always have the originals, and they're damn easy to find and play, PC players will be able to mod it in a few hours to fix this issue.

PS4 version holds up fine, and I'll be playing it for a third time soon. But they wanted a new product to coincide with the HBO TV show, which will bring in an influx of new players. "Marketing synergy."

I can accept the this remake, but what I hate are these 3 different editions with garbage digital junk tossed in. Steel book is nice, comic is fine, but all that digital junk pre-order nonsense is what I hate about modern gaming. Companies need to stop doing ...

I wouldn't. Apparently the PS MOVE implementation is trash. These devs have failed time and time again. Avoid everything these guys make.

If you want light gun action, and you don't own an SD CRT TV, then PS3 or Wii are better choices. GunCon 3 with Time Crisis 4 / Time Crisis Razin' Storm / Deadstorm Pirates is your best option. Works perfect on my 77 inch OLED.

I liked this game (I only played it after it was fully patched), but it does have some issues.

The modern day story was non-existent, which greatly disappointed me, especially since it was the same case as the previous two games.

The combat was very stale by this point, it was the same as III, IV, Rogue. So four games in four years with the same ho-hum combat, and with each passing year, it got increasingly stale.

This and Syndicate wer...

Even as a Sonic fan that has played all the 3D games in the past, this does look boring to me. The moves have no impact, the enemies barely do anything. If you're going to put combat in a video game, it has to be exciting, stylish, engaging. This feels, sleepy, shallow, and dull.

I've never described a Sonic game ever as "dull", but this truly does look it. And the game is almost complete, going to ship in under half a year. If it comes out looking and pla...

Sign up for PlayStation Direct. I bought two of them direct from Sony, and even after that, they offered to sell me two more PS5s, but I did not take them up on the offer.

I agree with the first half of your post, but disagree with the second half.

In two years nothing is going to change. Yes, Starfield will have released by then, and probably 2 more Forza games, but MS doesn't understand the basic fundamentals of gaming. They used to, back in 2001-2007, when the original leadership ran the first Xbox (loved it), and the first half of the Xbox 360 era (loved it too), but soon after new leadership took over, Project Natal (Kinect), and it ...
