Super tired of all these individual examples. What is the trend? Microsoft says consumers are spending less on individual titles. They’d know.

“Hmmm I don't think that really bodes well for Ms”

That’s no exaggeration. So many billions spent on exclusives and it won’t matter if Microsoft doesn’t have the marketshare to sell Game Pass subscriptions,

You mean since the 2013 E3 presentation my Don Matrick, who Microsoft fired before the console launched. The presentation was so bad, it sunk an entire generation even after Microsoft changed course on the Internet connectivity requirement, price, and Kinect 2.0.

Hi-Fi Rush looks cool but not AAA cool. Xbox would look weak if that is all they have against Sony’s slate of games. What else is Microsoft supposed to advertise? Redfall? Starfield coming sometime in 2023 unless it’s delayed again? What Microsoft really wants to advertise is Call of Duty. Maybe next Super Bowl.

Imma be honest. For the first 20 years of first person shooters, I was all pew, pew, pew, anything goes. Now I’m just not as thrilled to be a virtual mass murderer. If a game has a no killing option, I won’t kill anyone m. If a game has the option save people, I’ll try to save everyone. If a game lets the enemy surrender, I’ll accept their surrender. Not just more moral, also more fun.

No. Microsoft had many fire sales during the Xbox One era and they still couldn’t beat Sony. Some of the time, Sony matched Microsoft on price (and even beat them on price with bundled games), but for most of last gen, PS4 was more expensive. Microsoft could make a $400 Xbox Series X digital or a $350 Xbox Series S with a disk drive. Won’t matter. Consumers just don’t see the value in Xbox they way they see value in PlayStation,

This, exactly. If Xbox One launched with backwards compatibility, I would have bought it despite its problems. But since I had to give up my Xbox 360 library anyway, I went with PS4. Now that both consoles are backwards compatible, folks are locked in.

Well, shit! Xbox is going to have the same crappy marketshare this gen that it had last gen. No one is moving from PlayStation to Xbox. New console buyers are also going with PlayStation over Xbox. Think of how many games will be chained to the third place system.

How do I fund all these studios I’m about to own now?

That's the neat part, you don't.

I’ve heard this before. Anthem, Marvel’s Avengers, and many more had publishers committed to supporting their games until they weren’t.

Forget about June. I’m already drowning in PS+ games. Doom Eternal, Kena, Tchai, Sackboy, etc. I’ll check this year’s offerings sometime in 2025.

So many games will haphazardly dump enemies on the map or have enemies teleport to the player’s location. A good stealth game requires a master class in level design, enemy placement, and enemy a.i. Studios just aren’t interested in that anymore.

Oh, they will, just like the Xbox One and Xbox One S fire sales during last gen.

I’ll play Overwatch 2 with my son from time to time but never on my own. I don’t like the monetization system and selling new characters, but that’s not keeping me from playing. 5v5 just isn’t doing it for me. Where’s the supposed pve content? Vaporware.

Halo 3 has the best campaign of any game ever made. It sold about 14M copies on Xbox 360 and that seems impressive until you look at the numbers for Nintendo and Sony exclusives. In terms of game sales Animal Crossing is a bigger IP than Halo ever was.
