Titanfall was locked to Xbox One, the losing console. For PS4 players, it was a new IP. The beta foe TItanfall 2 was terrible. Players would go through entire match without a Titan. Graphics weren’t special at the time either. The 4-5 hour campaign was not going to sell a $60 game. I think it really came down to the learning curve. CoD players were already complaining about all of the abilities in CoD that ruined the “boots on the ground” experience. They just weren’t that interested in wall ...
Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, and The Witness. That’s right. Not another giant open world game with stunning visuals and innovative gameplay. One of my favorites is a puzzle game.
Just like when the head writer at Bungie was replaced before the release of Destiny. Remember how that game had a great narrative with zero problems?
I think Sony’s argument for a low end PlayStation this holiday is the $400 all digital edition. If you look at Nintendo Switch sales versus Nintendo 3DS sales, you can see that gamers are willing to pay a lot more for better hardware. Or maybe inflation has finally caught up to gaming hardware.
That goes both ways. Epic wants to free ride on Apple’s ecosystem.
Free-to-play is the future of online multiplayer. A new paid game won’t have the numbers to support matchmaking.
Games that can run on any old platform will continued to overshadow bleeding edge games that can only run on new hardware.
Because Microsoft spent $7.5B.
Phoenix76 speaks true. If you look at inflation then you an see how games are cheaper now than in 1995. But wages have remained flat while expenses like college, housing, and healthcare have risen much, much higher than the rate of inflation. This means discretionary spending for games is down. And yet more people buy games today than ever before. The market for games of fantastic and publishers are making more money than ever. My recommendation for consumers is hold out. If you don’t buy gam...
Curious of the WiFi transfer let’s you choose which content to transfer because my PS4 has a 2TB and the PS5 will have less than 800GB of storage.
Unless one of these 9 reasons is winning the lottery, I’ll save my money and keep playing on console.
I’ve seen many passive cooling systems that work because “heat rises”. I also know from experience that all manner of dust will fall into the console if you stand it vertical. I guarantee the next revision of the Xbox Series X will be a longer version of the Xbox Series S.
Like game publishers, Microsoft is a software company. Software companies love always online subscription services. If they had their way, you’d never own their games.
Seems like I’ll hardly miss Bethesda games on PS5 with a game like Cyberpunk 2077 to put a few hundred hours into.
And yet of the two, only the PS5 is slim enough to fit in my entertainment center.
“You got your RPG into my stealth action game”
“You got stealth action into my RPG game.”
“Tastes like shit!”
Unpopular opinion: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was disappointing.
This is utter horse shit. If you look at twitter analytics and YouTube views from the console announcements, the interest level of PS5 to Xbox Series X/S is the same 3:1 ratio we see from the sales of the consoles now. And we know that the Halo fans will hold out until Halo Infinite releases. And the Xbox Series X is a weird shape that won’t fit in people’s entertainment centers.
Ridiculous. As someone who has been playing games since the Commodore 64 era, I can tell you that games are fuller and more polished than ever. Some games are just bad, as it has always been.
A trip to the restaurant or the movies for the family can cost as much as a full AAA game. A few nights in a hotel costs as much as an entire console. And like a lot of people, we haven’t done any of that in the last 8 months.
