And so you are part one the ones fooled by MS, or that didn’t catch the big drawback from SeS.

Unlike 360 area, we are not talking here about just a smaller HDD and no physical
drive.

We are talking about massive power difference with SX (expected 2 or 3 times less powerful).

This has never happens in the console market before, and I pretty sure massive delusion is on its way about how ...

This console make no sense for me.
Let assume is it a 4TF system as rumor suggest.

If I take FS as an example, 4TF is just above PC min requirements, mean that this game on SeS will run with min settings: no way to have anything running at 1440p/120fps with this( except Tetris), hopefully 1080p/30fps will be the target.

That requires game dev to design games to be compatible with this 4TF baseline, ie a lot of scaling is needed which for sure ...

Each time I see some comparison video about this remaster, I find orignal PC version more beautiful than remaster.

Same thing here, textures and lighting seems far better in the PC section compared to One X.

2106d ago 12 agree1 disagreeView comment

You got the point.
MS is looking for broad install base to maximize Gamepass deployment.

They have sacrificed next gen for that, as this Serie S is roughly a One X plus SSD.
SX power will be wasted only for resolution/FPS increase, and no dev will be able to used those 12TF fully in they game design.

No disagree from deluded fanboys will change the way MS has shaped its «next gen».

I hope they will flop ...

The good think is that PS4 Spider-Man was a good game, but with a lot of areas where improvements are possible, so this one may be a very good game.

2107d ago 2 agree3 disagreeView comment

Cost aside, it is true that 100% Xbox titles will be playable on PC thanks to MS strategy.

But this is not true for Sony exclusives, on that case this article is misleading.

Plus, the game pass section and the statement « Next-gen titles that really show off what these consoles are capable of, like Horizon: Forbidden West or Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, are still a few years off.» about PS5 launch titles not real next gen games...

Flight Simulator is not pushing anything.
CPU usage is not optimized at all and rely mostly on only 4 cores even when more are available, which is a shame for a 2020 release, and is the main FPS bottleneck currently.

Seems like a DX12 upgrade is expected to improve it. ...

I share your enthusiasm about expected performances of the 3080, but I am waiting from real benchmarks from multiple sources and not relying only what Nvidia is saying.

I am running on a 1080ti for a couple of years, I hope 3080 will be close to 2x performances improvement, which is the sweet spot for me to trigger GPU upgrade.

Does the improvements will come to the pc version, like the enhanced edition of Witcher 2?

You sounds like your wife cheat on you with a guy working at Nvidia.
Sure there is some exaggeration from PR talk on new products, but at least Nvidia is not saying it does 8k native at 60fps.

Take a break and go get some fresh air, it is not good for your health to be so pissed for some GPU features.

2112d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Completely useless, especially when in Parallel Nvidia shows with DLSS that native 4k resolution details can be achieved by processing much lower resolution.

The only application I see that could benefit short term from such resolution is VR.

But will it help to get info on next gen launch?

2112d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

Well, on my side I like the situation the way it is.
We will get the info close to launch, early adopters will get their product soon after announcements and will not need to stress for months in anticipation.

And it will cut short the endless fanboys discussions about who got the biggest one without any console in hand.

Look at what Nvidia just did: new products announced 3 weeks before launch, good specs, surprisingly good prices, everyone i...

So IO speed is the next big thing for real.
Well played Sony to have anticipated the trend and equipped PS5 accordingly.

I would even say MS big problem is to keep the current Xbox user base.
I am afraid they have done so poorly so far to market next gen that even some Xbox fan Are started to seriously look at the other team.

It is too late now I am sure, except from redoing the game completely which will not be the case in my opinion.

I am still very surprised that game journalists needed to see Infinite to challenge the « no hold back » lie from MS.
Anyone who knows a little how games are made, especially at DF, should have seen this coming from the beginning.

@TheRealTedCruz

Ok then, let’s play your game.

« Oh yes, thank you people who only want to spend a few hundred bucks every decade or so on tech for pushing the tech industry forward »

Please explain me what you mean by that phrase: do you really thanks them to push the industry forward, or is it sarcastic?
If sarcastic, why people « who only want to spend a few hundred bucks every decade» does...

@TheRealTedCruz

Oh yes, the usual “re-read” argument.
That’s convenience when sneaking a message to use it.

Your comment was disrespectful for what it implied, that people that only want to spend a few hundred every 10 years should know their place and don’t pretend to participate to the industry development.

And please spare me the enumeration of your possessions and habits to smoke screen your comment, i does not interest me...

But that exactly the case, despite the arrogance of your comment.

PC gamers like us spending thousands of dollars on pc parts are lucky peoples with to much money. Their is no shame to recognize it, and no need to disrespect people with less financial resources that go the console way.

A lot of people here does not make any difference between niche and mass markets.

This is equivalent to formula one and day to day cars.
Sure so...

I completely disagree.
PC brute force as always been poorly used as long as console market did not include as specific tech.
You are confusing first release of a tech with pertinent usage of it.

Their is many examples:
- vibration equipped joypad
- Real multithreaded CPU game engines have took off thanks to console including Multicore CPU
- Advance AA solution like TAA have started to be broadly used thanks to console
- ...
