Hardware sales are abysmal, cumulating so many double digits decreases. And whatever it is presented, brand success and attractiveness is linked to it, much more than any funky metrics from gamepass subscriptions.
In Europe several stores, and not small ones, are not having anymore Xbox series consoles proposed to sale, and sometimes not even physical games on sale. The space is converted to Sony or Nintendo products.
A very underrated game that deserve a sequel.
Very good catch, and a proof that some common sense and connecting dots always tops brainless fanboyism in the long run.
Where is Obscure Observer? Is he safe? Is he alright?
Joke aside, very sad news for the studio employees. I am forever amazed how deep MS is burying its Xbox brand and reputation…
No it is not, it is us has a community which crucified this game, which is happening much too often.
It’s a shame we didn’t gave its chance to this franchise.
Game world was very interesting, and gameplay could have evolved to a major hit with sequels.
Not even speaking about graphics that were way ahead of their time.
Not really, except if you disconnect 100% from the internet.
It is almost impossible today to avoid a very explicit news/tweet/short title giving already 90% of the leaked info.
30 years ago (yes I am old) before internet it was current the see a new game was out by seeing it in the shelves. Now it is the complete opposite, we are exposed into very early stages for sake a creating news/buzz content, and even complain like hell when a game miss a release date published by a...
Not surprising, this is a niche product.
I don’t believe one bit MS will enter the handled market that makes no sense.
It was especially not helpful to market at the same time for the most powerful console with X and the least powerful with the S and saying all games can be played on both.
I feel like this is the beginning of the end for dedicated home consoles. Lack of competition is for sure not pushing Sony to deliver, but the trend to port every titles on PC is also slowly killing the concept of exclusive.
I didn’t bought any game for my ps5 for almost 2 years, and only use it to play GT. For everything else I waited to play on PC (FF rebirth, GoW, Spider man 2…). I think PS6 will come later than usual console gen change cycle, and may even be the last PS hardware...
What a very strange view on things, comparing stack up of multiple Xbox exclusive portages from several years to ps5 2025 line up…
Man, you spin this so much, if I put 2 wires in your butt I got free electricity.
« Why? »
You are a living joke, please never change.
Very true, gaming community is killing the hobby as much as big companies they blame on everything.
Console market is the one gaas powered to my opinion. Gamepass is 100% gaas, you need to pay a sub to play everything, even a solo game if you use gamepass.
I don’t see why playing on PC is more gaas threatening than a PS or XB.
Alarming? Why? People are gaming, that’s good for our hobby and the industry.
Interesting article. I don’t know if everything exposed here what done on purpose by the developers, but their is certainly much more work done on this game than anyone was expecting.
Who do you think you are to talk to people like that, especially with your history of comments? Your IP should be permanently banned from this website.
Characters animation appart, which would really benefit from a massive overhaul in the engine, it did a great work in Starfield to present highly geometrically detailed world, with some serious textures resolution and good lightning.
I don’t really see why a change to UE5 would be so necessary. UE5 poorly optimized can be very crappy,
Interesting article, except from the same old « loosing MS will let Sony do what it wants ».
Sony is already dealing with PC gamers, pushing exclusives to them, plus Steam and upcoming steam machines will start to step on traditional console space.
There is no lack of competition even with MS out of the console hardware.
