Maybe you should bet for both platform then. Because going from 1440p30 to 4K30 with 17% additional GPU power does not do it on XSX either, supposing there is no other bottlenecks.

Strange how some people playing the “spec sheet don’t lie” game cannot do the math with this 17% Tflops story: it is either 1440p 36fps or 1700p30 for the UE5 demo for example. Not at 4k30, not even close to 4k60.

PS5 vs SX performances will not make a substantial in game diffe...

Well, aside Cerni technical presentation, the articles you talk about about SSD speed are not coming from Sony head of video game division.
That’s for me the biggest flaw from a lot of Spencer PR talk: he have to be careful on some statements as he also need to deliver on them being part of the big 3.

It created endless disappointment on last gen Xbox which is not good for business.

So you say that only the price vs power ratio is a selling argument.
This is like telling to buy the latest Huawei smartphone over and iPhone 11 Pro just because it has higher flops number, and avoid to mention it cannot be used due to restriction to access google services.

And with your argument, I wonder why you have all the Ps hardware. You certainly have other benefits with them that just the price/power ratio.

Don’t get me wrong, the most...

I don’t believe it. No GPU today is able to sustain full clock speed at 100% load without hitting thermal constraint, especially with air cooling.
I have a ryzen 3700 cpu, which almost always display high frequency even in idle, but only with low load.
In high load frequencies are going down.

Only possibility is that XbsX GPU is used below it’s peak performance to avoid any clock variation, which makes no sense for me:

Why include a ...

I think it will all depend on the mechanical aspect of the vibration feature. DS4 is still relying on big motors with unbalanced weight which must draw some current for sure.

There is no denying than full backward compatibility across all gens is a major feature.

As a PS player since PS1, I would really love to be able to play any game of my entire console game collection on a single machine.

That said, I really don’t think that it can change anything on the market shares distribution between Sony and MS.
I don’t see why a PS lover will buy a XbsX due to full BC: he does not own any Xbox game by definition.

Aaaaand here we go again.
Teraflop fetish arguing XbsX as the bigger one (which is true), exclusive fetish will argue Sony game has always been graphical references at each gen despite lower Tflops vs Xbox(which is true).

Are you not tired of remaking the same exact discussion each gen?

I am much more interested by practical details: what will be the noise/heat figures of these machines? Does new PS controller and vibration architecture will bri...

Well, having multiple big bosses as in RE1/RE2 would have created more variety.
Plus, his is appearing almost from nowhere which is not the most creative way to use him in term of level construction.

Back in the days I was also frustrated with Nemesis on original RE3.
I think it is due that gameplay and reward mechanics for RE3 are counter intuitive vs RE1/RE2.

RE1/2 are very slow pacing games, where being careful with ammo and herb can help built a good inventory that secure main part of the game. Plus inventory management is a big part of the game and quite enjoyable.

In RE3, inventory build up is no more an option, every Nemesis encounter ...

I how unfortunately not enough room to have all my console collection available for immediate use, this would allow me to get back to old gems like Silent Hill 2.

It is more that I dislike MIcrosoft and how they use their XBox branch.
They don’t care of the product by itself but are constantly trying to use it to force they customers on a 100% subscription based service at all levels, as they are doing for the Office suite.

Worst thing is that it is so obvious and poorly done though bullshit PR that it seems they consider they customers as simple minded and to dumb to care.

They sure have a chance again Stadia 😂

More seriously, this is an other round of MS trying to push gaming on cloud solution as they are a big player in this industry with Amazon and Google indeed.
Make sense for their business structure, but last gen the promise was the same and it didn’t deliver: customers weren’t willing for it and the tech didn’t demonstrate.

Stadia crippled not so long ago for the exact same reasons, I am curious if t...

How MS came up thinking such announcement before hardware release was a good idea for business?
Casual gamers will stick with their current xbox as they will get all the new games for 1 or 2 years without spending 5 or 600$.
Except die hard MS fans, hardcore gamers will chose the console where they can immediately see the benefits to change gen.

PS5 will up sell the SX by large first year, 3rd party editors will double down on it thanks to larger install ...

Yeah, but maybe some of the guys here are real corporate financial experts with interesting insights to share.

Who knows, internet is not exclusively composed of unqualified people.

2207d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Not surprising. The Gaas strategy may work on a corporate financial standpoint for revenues if there is enough susbcribers, which is not the case here with these numbers.

Now this is the beginning of the chicken and egg situation: to get more people, you need killer portfolio exclusively available on your platform, so generally speaking big money investment before to trigger the breakeven for your revenues.

So, does MS is really doing enough on that fro...
