One thing's for sure, the people that hate the game really hate it bad. I think it's going to be in the range of the 80's as well. The combat mechanic isn't perfect, but I found it rather fresh and entertaining.
The animations are the biggest problem of the game IMO. The weapon impact isn't solid (when the animation actually hits the enemy).
Overall, I think it'll be fun, despite its downfalls.
People that ignore the innovations in Halo 3 are just plain ignorant. Yes, the gameplay isn't that much different from Halo 2, but it's the other online features that make it shine.
That's what I was thinking when I first looked. I guess we'll know for sure by the end of the week.
Are you implying that flushing a toilet is boring?!?!?!? How dare you!
Sorry, I enjoyed your comment a little too much...it inspired me to be stupid =)
Yeah, Microsoft's conference wasn't anything amazing, though I wouldn't say it was bad. Bungie's announcement tomorrow is probably going to be the biggest thing for 360...if they don't change to multiplatform that is o_O
Yeah, personally, I can't justify buying the system still. Still not enough strong games for my liking. I am a hardcore gamer, though, so the majority of Wii games just don't interest me. I'd love to play Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Brawl, Metroid, but 4 games won't sell a system for me.
Way to wave around your fanboy colors. I'll laugh when Sony's press conference is no better than Microsoft's.
Also, PS3 is clearly not the hottest thing right now since it's being outsold like mad by the Wii and just mildly outselling the 360. Plus, Wii is the only console that prints money. Come on!
A weak press conference doesn't mean the system is dead.
Yeah, there's no reason whatsoever for PS3 to have one. That was a waste of money.
The picture looks like it doesn't touch the power outlet of the Xbox now. That could mean it will simply snap on and blow air instead of screwing with the power source and ruining the warranty. It does mention its own power supply. I still won't get one, but it looks like they might have gotten a bit smarter this time around.
Edit: For you 360 owners, just buy a small fan and blow air over the box to get hot air away from the system. It makes a big difference in the temperature...
There's always Horde. That game mode sounds like it's going to be a blast.
Have you not read all the multiplayer makeovers the game is getting? It's much more than just a new storyline. From what I've seen so far, the game seems worth the full price tag. I was doubtful early on, but my faith has been restored.
Yeah, they never promised 4 player campaign. All they ever said is 4 player co-op, which is now 5. That's an imrpovement in my eyes. Yeah, everyone wants 4 player campaign, but I do think that would make the campaign all too easy.
Also, a lot of the story probably involves just Marcus and Dom again, so what would they do, throw in 2 random soldiers that don't even fit in the story? I think it'll be better off this way.
Yeah, the graphics are a lot cleaner, but that doesn't guarantee anything on gameplay. I try not to make any judgements until there's a lot more info on games. I'm not saying either game will be bad, but neither has enough info yet to guarantee a strong gameplay experience.
I don't see why people care so much if their precious exclusives go to another console. Not like it's costing you anything.
I also don't see why Kojima wouldn't want the game on Xbox. It would surely sell millions. And nobody give me any crap like "he's a man of his word" and the like. The industry is about money, and you all know that.
I would never say the PS3 is a waste of money, but it is starting to lose a little ground in the software area. Sony is going to have to pull out something big at E3 to make up for it.
It's funny how people can disagree with facts.
I'm a huge fan of action RPGs, and I've been on the fence for this one lately. My 15 minutes with it haven't pushed me either way yet, but after reading these comments, I feel that I'm going to like it once I get the hang of it when I can play more later.
This seems to be what most people that actually gave the demo a chance are saying. I'm sure most disagrees are just angry PS3 fanboys or people that didn't give the game a fair chance. I can understand why some people wouldn't like the game, but it seems like the kind of game that most fans of dungeon crawling action RPGs would like.
I'd also like to thank you for your unbiased opinion on the game. I only got to play it for 15 minutes on my lunch break (yeah, I went home from work to try it, haha), and I still hadn't adapted to the controls, so I'm sure it'll grow on me yet. I'm a big fan of action RPGs, so I can see a lot of replay value for myself.
One funny thing I noticed about the game is that the attack animations look pretty good for a sliding attack but the combos look like you're violently swinging...
You're clearly not a hardcore gamer if you care that people will see you as a geek. Geek is not a bad thing these days. Geeks keep this world running. Nerd on the other hand...
