I hope they have pretty high requirements for being able to charge money. Too many levels costing money might lessen the appeal. I'm hoping they have the right balance for this. It could definitely work if implemented right.

I can't deny how good LBP looks, but to compare it to the likes of Mario, a character that was fundamental in the growth of the video game industry, is pretty naive. Maybe someday Sackboy can grow to be well known, but I doubt the fame will ever surpass Mario.

Definitely can't disagree with you there. A lot of Playstation fans will definitley stick to buying FFXIII on their PS3, but for those (like me) that only get one console, it coming to the 360 is a gift from the heavens. I'm sure the boost in sales they'll get from the 360 will be worth their effort.

I was never been a huge fan of the PS2 as a console, but the game selection really makes up for that for me. Even if I don't like it much, I can't deny its success. The PS2 has surely been doing its share to keep the PS3 afloat through the rocky start.

What you say is very true, but Wii has many idiot games for idiots, which accounts for a large amount of the world's population. I'm not saying every game is bad or anything of that nature, but look at stuff like Wii Play. Hardcore gamers tend scoff at games like that, but casuals eat it up like crazy. Wii just found the perfect formula to pull almost anyone into gaming.

Well, I wouldn't rule out the chance of PS3 selling as many when it gets as cheap as the PS2. The PS2 appeals to a lot of families with lower income. The console is cheap. The games are cheap. And there's still plenty of consoles readily available. Also, it's nice and small, which is probably one of the bigger advantages it has over the original Xbox. And also, it obviously has a massive game library.

If the PS3 can eventually achieve that same appeal, it might just hit the sal...

What? Did I anger some Ubisoft fanboy (do they even exist?) or something? Splinter Cell Conviction hasn't had any showing since Ubidays of last year, where it was said to have a November release date. I don't see how you can disagree with a fact.

I'm starting to wonder if Splinter Cell Conviction is ever going to come out. Heck, it originally had a November release date last year. You think they'd at least be able to show something of it over half a year later.

Why is it that every time a problem comes up with the PS3, somebody has to mention the "other system"? A problem is a problem. Just because the "other system" has its own problems doesn't justify PS3 bugs. Every console needs to fix its issues.

The biggest problem is that they don't have to do much with the game for it to sell. That's why they don't really care. If people stopped buying, they might actually improve the game more.

Seriously, who comes to a news site and reads? I'm here for the assimilated Peter Moore picture!

Yeah, but many of those games are from developers that they bought, so I still give credit to the developer and not EA.

6397d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I don't necessarily like EA, but business is business, and if a game is good, I'm going to buy it.

6397d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah, putting money toward a game that they don't truly internally develop doesn't count in my eyes. Dead Space may lessen my hatred for them if it's a success as well. As far as I'm concerned, if they bought the developer, it's not truly part of EA.

Yeah, incogneato hit the nail on the head. EA can't make up for years of foul play with a few good games.

To say MS showed nothing is bloody ignorant. Stop waving your PS3 fanboy flag around. Both Sony and MS had decent showings. Neither was amazing, but I wouldn't say either was bad. Picking a winner is stupid anyway. For all we know right now, any of the things showed at either conference could completely flop. Microsoft's attempt at casual gaming could completley flop. MAG could be a complete lagfest with crap controls and gameplay. It's too early to decide how good these things will be. This ...

I'd say the reason MGS2 was disappointing is because you're stuck playing Raiden, which nobody liked. It was by no means a bad game, but taking out Snake for the majority of the game was a poor choice.

6398d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well, I'm doubting the game will get a 6, but so far, I'm feeling that it's going to get similar scores to the first game. All in all, that'll mean it's a solid game. It just won't be what everyone is hyping it up to be, just like almost every game except the rare few that actually live up to the hype, such as MGS4.

It does help to read the little disclaimer at the bottom. It was meant to give a little insight into the games and for fun. FUN being the key word here.
