@silverwolf
judging from your comment id say you dont know the first thing about pc gaming.
3yr old pc with 8800gtx will easily outperform any console. Upgrades are not needed. Ps3 or the 360 dont magically gain more power every year to play new games. Same way 8800gtx just is superior to them hence it can play anything those consoles can play and better.
legit customers get screwed over while pirates get to enjoy the game.
not buying anything with this sort of drm.
it didnt do well on pc when it was originally announced. but sony has alot of marketing muscle. If anyone can make it happen it probably is sony.
Question is are the ppl willing to pay for the tvs?
3D first came to pc many years back. tried it about 5 years back on crt monitors i didnt like it much at that time specially wearing the glasses all the time.
Though i hear there is a performance hit when 3D is activated on PC like a 50% performance hit. Pc currently easily plays games over 60fps. hence a hit is fine. However Ps3 already has most of its games running at 720p and runs at 30fps, i dont know how the ps3 would deal with the performance hit playing at 15fps would be...
glitchfest doesnt sell on any of the online stores asides steam, which is why its still on the charts.
BC2 is selling everywhere and it has managed to stay on top of the steam chart for a month now.
No wonder dice said more ppl are playing BC2 on PC then both the consoles combined.
while its a great console i wouldnt call it ready for 1080p. hardly 10% of its titles are true 1080p and those titles dont push the console.
Lets wait and see what 3d games are announced.
yep lets keep giving developers like Activision 10/10 for graphics for the same revamped games they throw our ways, that way we ensure graphics remain stagnant.
Crysis is a great game, you need to play it first before making comments on it.
@datruth
so lets not get that 100usd gpu upgrade on the pc, instead lets get a 300usd console. then pay 10-15usd extra per game for the rest of the 7years... give it up, consoles wont win the price argument against PC. Unless we build a really hi end pc which isnt needed, since even a low/mid range pc will outperform anything a console can do.
@shingino
keep telling yourself that. people who are open minded do change when they see a superior version out there @ a cheaper price.
Now if it satifies you to keep telling yourself that pcs are expensive that doesnt change fact. Console gamers need to drop the myth on pcs being expensive to game on. That just insnt true, rather its the otherway around. Pc can be cheaper then getting a console since most of us already have one(just needs a 100usd gpu). Even if...
Id get it off steam.
cheaper and superior.
you sure you installed the drivers on those gtx260 sli?
the game should be liquid smooth even on a 8800gtx. unless you want to try playing on some insane resolutions like 2560*1600 with 8xAA which the gpu wont be able to handle due to memory limitations. 1080p should be flawless on a single gtx 260.
according to comments from Dice, the pc version is more crowded then both consoles combined. I would expect server delays initially. The game just is selling very well on Pc.
When the PC community gets what they want, they really do go all out.
also regarding the PC spec requirement. I am playing this on my rig which has eyefinity with 3 monitors. The game runs liquid smooth.
However even on my laptop which has a gtx260 (slightly less powerful then...
@clownbelt
2 console friends of mine when they saw the pc version running @ 1080p. they dropped the console version to get PC. The difference was very visable even in beta when pc was running at medium res textures. in the final game with dx 11 and hi res textures pc is clearly superior while having silky smooth 60fps+. its very smooth even on a 8800gtx(3yrs old).
as expected.. ps3, xbox versions are simular. Infact if you didnt see the system it was running on you wouldnt be able to distinguish.
Now if you are looking for a version where you can truely see a difference then its on the PC. Dx11 1080(and beyond), 60fps+
though the game should be bought on the system where you ahve the most friends, since its MP.
@letros
yea i couldnt play gta4 with controllers, the aiming just doesnt feel right.
ill give it a try see how the controllers and mouse works then take my pick. This is what i love about pc gaming versatility. play however you like.
be it 720p, 1080p... choice of AA.. choice of displays, controls the options are limitless.
i dont like microsoft either, however macs not getting viruses is a completely different reason. Macs are a minority, hence not of much interest. If Macs were anywhere close to Windows numbers we would be seeing alot more viruses on Mac.
if linux had full support for gaming, that would make the decision easy.
As it stands i see no reason to be upgrading my windows. Heck i dont even use microsoft office.. openoffice does the job just fine.
Enhanced for multiscreen setup... that would be eyefinity.
@charmers
I play on the PC too, dont own any of the consoles. Though i do have the xbox and ps3 controller for these type of games. I used Mouse/board for GTA4, Though some games just are better with controller this just might be one of them.
Blizzard and Activision belong to Viviandi. Both are seperate companies. If Wow is bringing in the 100million a month thats good on blizzards part. That doesnt mean activision can slack.
Bottom line is Activision needs to come up with new IP's milking old ones wont cut for long.
Pc version @45usd on steam. runs great on a 8800gtx, id say pc is the clear version to get.
Users shouldnt just look at 1 game bought. At the end of the year all of this accumiliates.
