sure knew abou the neo geo but i found something superior.
i went PC back in 95 and never looked back to consoles :P
59usd per game sounds outrageous to me. at the end of 2 years thats enough to build a rig itself.
no screen tearing on the HD version aka PC ;-)
runs liquid smooth even on a 4870 gpu. Need to test the game on my older rig which has 8800gtx.
wouldnt worry about the diablo specs, we know blizzard games are about the gameplay and run fine on low to mid range hardware. IMO just wait for fermi then make a decision.
ps3 & 360 hold back development of good looking games too.
i wonder what ati and nvidia will do if this keeps up. anyone having a gpu from 3 years back on pc doesnt need an upgrade any more due to games being designed with consoles in mind too.
why does anyone support the nonsense of paying 59usd per game?
microsoft probably wont lower the prices of the HDDs. Their prices are rediculous when it comes to accessories, Though thats something Xbox users knew they were gonna be getting into when they bought the console.
@SilentNegotiator
When they bought the console it was understood it will be expensive in the longrun. Paying 10usd-20usd extra per game doesnt hurt them, They dont mind paying to go online, so whats another 100usd for the hard drive for them. Rip off i a...
not really, its not much of an issue.
They can install harddrives for larger games, however the developer will need to pay royalties to microsoft for every extra disk. We all know how microsoft likes the exta $$. The developer probably wont be too happy.
Digital download is a good alternative to this problem. Though consoles going DD wont be a good thing for the gamers.
@thor
played crysis when it first came out on a 8800gtx 1024*768 high settings the game ran very well.
8800gtx is ancient tech by now, i still runs any of todays games asides crysis at 1080p, i really dont see the point of LIVE when a 8800gtx can be had for sub 100usd now.
They can tell us what they like, its their business after all they need to hype it every way they can.
The ping issue just doesnt make sense to me unless the server is very close. If its even a state away, it probably wont be good enough for the most of us.
720hd? lul wat? thats so late 90's :P
You are deluded if you even think an upgrade is needed every 3years. Better luck next time.
Enjoy paying extra for every low res copy bought.
let us know when the ping gets undercontrol :P
waiting on the reviews for this, though with dawn of war 2 expansion pack coming out, got my hands full.
mouse >>>>>>>&g t;>>>>>>>& gt;>>>>>>> >>>>>>>> ;>>>>control pad
for:
fps, rts, mmo
would have bought it had they released the HD version (pc)... no 720p med res textures isnt good enough for me.
hope the main campaign can be done as MP.
dam all of you are probably too busy to make a post on the game :( any updates pls share.
wow still seems to be going very strong.
steam itself isnt the entire pc platform, its just a part of it. Id say it holds up pretty well against Live or psn network on its own. Add in rest of the DD services or ppl not using DD yet and PC will ahead of either of these consoles.
Pc gaming is very diverse we have too many games to play from current and years back(too many generes too). Its not like consoles where we are forced to buy the next game since either no one plays the previous title or support for it is discont...
you have some good points there.
unlike console gamers, we dont lose all our games over once a generation is over. Niether can a developer pull the plug on all our last gens games by saying support for this is over (aka xbox 1 losing all its online support) that just doesnt happen on pc. or the fact tha ps3 or 360 wont run previous gen games anymore.
Though i do think pc gaming hasnt been declining infact its probably been steadily growing. Its just that console ...
Just for the record Steam alone has over 2.4million users logged in during peak hours everyday. Thats more then MS live network the 360 uses.
Steam has proven itself to be a very good platform for PC users and a benchmark for any PC DD service out there, no wonder its growth is hurting the retail.
not playing on 5yr old hardware, which struggles to play 720p.
1200p is the minimum for me anything less is auto fail.
