He wants to acquiesce to gamers who had to wait till Tuesday but the guilt lies exclusively with Activision.
It was they who leaked the game early to dissuade people from potentially buying BF3. Activision knew positive word of mouth from real gamers is far more convincing than professional reviews.
Like I said last week, the game came straight from Activision's warehouse to stores with activated SKUs. In layman's terms, the UPC symbol when scanned ...
I've put almost 5 hours into MP, over 5 hours into Survival mode (not even really messed around with Spec Ops), took me almost 12 hours on Veteran to complete the game and I have no problem saying the game is the best one in the series since COD4. The last level is the hardest mission since the Flak cannon 88s in COD: World at War. Maybe even a notch above the airplane epilogue in COD4 in terms of difficulty. Aiming is back to the COD4 days, tight, no curving bullets.
I ...
I had low expectations for MW3 but IW really surprised me. I'm not afraid to get disagrees for saying this, I really enjoyed the campaign and the MP maps are big like BlOp's DLC maps. Good co-op too. It might get old but I have a feeling the million of casual COD fans are gonna eat this up
it's easily the best COD since MW1. I was very skeptical too, but the story is very cohesive and not as convoluted as MW2. The set pieces are nicely done, none are drawn out and the game retains its cinematic feel. Although the shock moment of the "controversy" in a vacuum seems terrible remember it is WW3 and there are several moments in the game where civilians are fodder and historical landmarks are destroyed without second thought. So it fits within the context of the story....
I bought every Bethesda game for about $3 on average from Steam and Activision still sells older COD titles (4 on up) for $19.99 or more.
And yes it didn't cost me $1700, only $57.06 w/ employee discount :)
Activision was SO pissed at us they sent us another 120 copies since we sold all 80 wednesday. lol
MP servers just went online last night and I bought a legitimate copy from a retailer with active SKUs that shipped from Activision, ergo it's their fault the copies were sold, not mine or the retailer. There have been two 20 MB patches the last 2 days respectively (v1.02 now)
Bought it at Kmart when a shipment came from Activision with the SKUs activated. PS3 version is so much better than the PS3 Blacks Ops version. PS3 COD fans will be happy campers (no pun intended).
First thing one should know it properly upscales to 1080p. There is some very minor initial texture pop-in and some jaggy shadowing during MP sessions but it clears up fast. Aiming has been improved quite a bit although honestly I'm testing it out versus AI bots in survival mod...
all you have to do is be a master of compression and re-use the same assets over and over.
Hopefully KoA doesn't drop the unique, vibrant landscapes in favor of dull browns and grays and lower the gamma so we won't notice.
you can play it without owning Infamous2
EDIT: lol and you need 3.3 gig of HDD space
The game has to be released
Cliffy B's response to the "haters" article that garnered 660 degrees and a bevy of responses that I actually posted in. There were also a few others that received much more attention that I intentionally avoided.
I agree the rampant fanboyism by droids and bots is rather disgusting. You only see more of PS3 fannies here because N4G is a pro-PS3 site. Go elsewhere and you'll see a more balanced ratio of idiots. And they're the same in regards to posting ...
the uproar of 360 fans caused by Jim Sterling and Eurogamer's reviews of Gears 3? I distinctly recall several articles on N4G that reached a thousand degrees and 250+ posts.
By the way, I checked some of his past editorials and I read up to the point where he said XBL is a better service than Steam. Oh really?
and Nariko's story is over but it was one of many that could be told. I would love to see a prequel that fleshed out the battle between the Legendary Warrior and the evil Raven Lord. Or any of the dozens of warriors who briefly wielded it.
For me it's the ingenious aspect of the IP; the sword itself is the centerpiece of the story and thus, it's not restricted by individual character's triumphs and demises.
and every 360 fan turned into a whiny, crybaby Bot and spammed the articles with 200+ posts of hate? Over a score of 8....I thought only droids overreacted like that!
for someone named the science guy I take it that was a joke. good one....
guess he never read Steam's EULA agreement or noticed the "system info" click in the settings either....or Sony's infamous root kits scandal...or Microsoft's insipid kernels buried deep in updates...or how Achievements/Trophies have become gleefully accepted spyware to millions of unsuspecting gamers....or 3rd party publishers' DRM that require constant internet connections /s
And dammit, they had to include Ruins; my all-time favorite map. I was going to pass on this.
or you can purchase either separately for $10!
I had fun with Team Juggernaut as well. Check it out.
