Since Darksiders was a far better game than Skyward Sword. I was really disappointed with the last Zelda. Just my opinion but the Zelda franchise needs an overhaul
"...Nintendo demonstrated it does understand now that connectivity isn’t an option any more, and it’s clearly grasped that core games are a specific thing that can’t be played using a casual interface."
The author is spot on with those assessments. As long as the console ships with 2gigs of system ram and no more than 512MB is allocated to the OS and the tablet I'm stoked for it. Nintendo has made all the right moves since last year's E3. God I hate people w...
We'll hear about about target renders being shown behind closed doors. Screenshot leaks will surface just prior to WiiU's launch to dissuade those waiting on next gen systems from Micro/Sony.
But I agree with both of you on one issue; neither Sony nor Microsoft will be the ones doing it.
Although it transitions from on-rails to TPS like the main games, DS2's "Severed" DLC I believe is the continuation of its story.
it's a multiplatform IP that's not currently available on a Sony device, right?
"Console exclusive" is an oxymoron invented by fanboys to make themselves feel good about the lack of said exclusive content to their particular system of choice.
"where did u see Uncharted in this article?"
Umm....how about the 3rd paragraph down Einstein? And its absence from the PS3's library makes perfect sense given that Microsoft published Alan Wake. Hence the reference from Remedy.
You're not going to play iOS games at those resolutions, but I expect PS4/nXBox 1080 with half the power of a modern PC to support 4K!!! Derp derp
Buttonless gaming sucks but did you check out Golden Abyss on the Vita? Touchscreen controls are dope!!!
iOS games are always the same formula with some gimmick tacked on to sucker ya into buying it. Wait a minute. You say there's a 201st Mario game being released next week but in 3D this time? Day 1! Huzza...
If iPad brings gaming to a whole new audience, then that's good. It could mean the next time I pair up with some strangers for some Borderlands2 mayhem, I could be mass murdering with an investment banker on a PC? Sweet!! As a core gamer, it just means I have MORE options to play, not LESS. Did all the "core" games shrivel up and wilt away on Nintendo's handhelds? Did I lose out on core games because the PS2 and now Wii were flooded with shovelware? I can understand fanboy b...
I guess if you dont like grinding perhaps it is YOU who should stick to American RPGs. Ironic that one staple of JRPGs should be jettisoned whilst you rabidly defend another.
Why wouldn't it be? You literally could have just the tower sitting in/next to your entertainment hub. Nearly every modern GPU has a HDMI port anyway so hook it up to the big screen if you like. If your wife/GF has accepted gaming on consoles on the living room why would she suddenly develop an aversion to PC gaming?
Yes it's linear and not what was shown on PC early in its development. I agree and Remedy have no one to blame but themselves for alienating PC gamers.
But honestly I think the narrative and the pacing of it were top notch and benefited much from the change in direction. Sandbox games all too often give me so much freedom I inherently screw around with no direction that, by time it comes to actually finishing it, it's more of a chore than a labor of love. GTA, RDR, Ju...
let's hope they nerf the jack of all trades builds with severe penalties. Like the devs said it would be ludicrous to think a knight wearing gauntlets and armor would have the same agility using ranged weapons as a dedicated archer. I like your accuracy penalty too if said knight wore a helmet, because naturally it would obstruct his field of vision.
Two things I'm unsure about though - character balance and directional attacking/parrying. I would rather classes be kept as unique as possible, i.e. knight is the only class capable of plate armor and shield, archers are the only ones who use bows and crossbows, etc... That way even if it boils down to a rock-paper-scissor type strategy there's still an element of thought that one must approach to be successful in each conflict zone. I hope they also reveal a medic/support class (alc...
@ Bergoo
Artistic, cartoonish-styled games will indeed benefit from native 1080p resolution over 720p/1080p upscaled ones. Bastion and Kingdoms of Amalur are a few examples.
@ lionelglitchy
you're right but we're talking about next gen not this one. Seems like an excuse in the making...
If they actually learned from past mistakes, Sony would've included both Little Deviants and a 2gb memory card for Vita in the West. Should've done what Nintendo did with the Wii and package some software that illustrates the new features of the console. The lack of a memory card is the most valid criticism of the device and yet Sony chose to ignore it and insists we pay for the right to save/store our games.
Witcher 2 then huh?
If any gamer actually cared about the superior version of a multi-plat, you'd have a PC then.
I know plenty of people who have multiple consoles and not one of them checks either of those garbage sites to see which version they should buy. They buy 3rd party IPs for whatever system they and their friends prefer and just the exclusives for the other. It's simple really.
And it shows just why as PC gamers we should never buy any consolized port Day1. Let pubs recoup their investment on the backs of console mongos and we'll gladly contribute to their profit margins instead at a more civil price point. A friend of mine paid $130 for the privilege to play these games the first week; I waited 6-8 weeks and paid $40 lol!
Activision isn't the only publisher stagnating the industry. I blame both Microsoft and Sony for prolonging this generation, when in hindsight, it's clearly a stop gap to the next. It's affected every aspect of gaming including the PC.
Did you know, the longest period of time between a successful product and its predecessor is 6 years? Sony once PS2-2000/PS3-2006, Nintendo twice NES-1985/SNES-1991, Wii-2006/WiiU-2012, and I'll include the Odyssey-1972/Odysse...
some PC gamers are also guilty. From November to January I watched the Steam charts and always saw MW3 and Skyrim in the top 20. Sad but true.
Hell I spent $32 on Bethesda's latest turd and it still feels like I overspent. Should've just waited for Morrowind Overhaul 3.0 mod...
