I'll refrain from listing all the party, sluggers, strikers, and tennis games Nintendo slapped Mario on the cover to sell to the masses.

all I've read are a bunch of rabid JRPG fans' comments blaming the western media as usual.

No one has looked at historical sales numbers and asked the question; did they ever really sell well here in the first place? Microsoft made Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon, Sony did White Knight Chronicles and Ni No Kuni, and Nintendo produced the Last Story and Xenoblades. Know what they all have in common? Not one sold a million copies!

Has anyone brought up th...

Do you believe that next gen systems won't reach the 1080p60fps threshold Sony and MS have targeted? Or quite simply do you believe even if they do, it won't be as big a jump as this past one?

Did you read the Forbes article? Or the links it provided? Windows 8, after the run of early adopters, has seen abysmal sales. PC sales in general are shrinking, leading to many analysts to speculate tablets will eventually phase out desk & laptops. Speaking of tablets, Surface sales were less than 2% of the market. Odd that Amazon's Kindle also launched late into this saturated market and yet outpaced Android sales, finishing behind the Ipad this Christmas. Windows phones continue to...

that's almost an insult to Hawken. Did you watch that explosion at the 2:23 mark? It's like a PS2 timeloop. And before anyone yells at me about gameplay over graphics, A) this is PC, and B) you know we can have both, right?

the 800 pound gorilla in the room is still console maker's reluctance to embrace K/M. They allow steering wheels for racing, arcade twin sticks for fighting, and motion controls for on-rails shooters all to enhance the core gameplay yet K/M is the devil to Sony, MS, and Nintendo for FPSs, RTSs, and even RPGs?

that although Trip Hawkins was well respected, he didn't have the capital to continue (see M2). Apex didn't have the clout to really start. Valve has both.

There's also a few things you missed. Steambox will launch with back catalog of 1500+ titles to play. Steambox will have a built-in community to play alongside you, even in the 1st year it launches. You'll have mods. You'll be able to use a K/M to play FPSs, RTSs, and RPGs. Cross platform play will be ...

but you've been on N4G long enough to know there's an abundance of console only gamers who cling to the urban myth we're all forced to squint in front of 15" screens in order to play PC games. That ends here.

"Clunky combat" should never EVER be used as game mechanic; if anything it only proves the original concept is flawed. It's a cheap trick used by developers to induce an artificial difficulty.

You do realize that completely defeats the purpose of a social network?

But don't worry amigo, Nintendo will continue to cultivate its "Disney of the East" image by heavily moderating Miiverse. In fact, they already stated it may take up to 30 minutes to filter your posts during heavy traffic. It'll be easier to pause the game, look up the solution online, and return to finish it before ever receiving help from the community.

Ahh well, any...

some moron who doesn't understand that NATIVE 1920x1080p resolution isn't the same as"FullHD". He then went on to champion his cause by making grand assumptions while not understanding the basic terminology invented by TV manufacturers.

The WiiU version will still be the best console version. PC>WiiU>360>PS3.

"nobody who plays CoD plays it for the graphics". Absolutely true.

The only PC games I want bad enough to purchase day 1 and they both release the same day. Part of me wants to play anything Viktor Antonov makes/contributes to and the other half wants to play a reboot of one of my all-time favorites. I'll do both but man there are only so many hours in a day

All the characters, maps, & campaigns in L4D were imported by Valve to L4D2. I don't believe the characters are inter-changeable in the vanilla version but that's a small price to pay for all the added content. Until the Workshop is implemented, try L4Dmaps.com to see if there are enough exclusive mods to warrant a purchase.

Birds of the same feather flock together. In reality though all 3 are guilty of this. In '96 Bill Gates said at a symposium:

"Content is where I expect much of the real money will be made on the Internet, just as it was in broadcasting.

The television revolution that began half a century ago spawned a number of industries, including the manufacturing of TV sets, but the long-term winners were those who used the medium to deliver information and enter...
