no it doesn't. How do you figure? You don't announce a new system a couple of months before the holiday season. If you wanna kill off sales of existing hardware then absolutely. No, Sony should let 2019 ride, do a Feb. reveal, E3 exposure & details, and then a Nov. release. The PS4 's template was perfect and should be the blueprint for future Sony hardware releases. Even from a "tech standpoint" it makes better sense to wait then launch early with an unfriendly cons...
it'll be 2020. Too many exclusives in the pipeline that can sustain the PS4 in '19 and no way does Sony prematurely kill off their golden goose.
mephisto is a shortened form of mephistopheles. It most certainly is NOT from Diablo. It's from the 16th century. Faust wagers his soul to the demon Mephistopheles. It's no wonder Diablo incorporated the term into the series and easily could bethe working title for D4. However you can't credit a video game series for coining a word/concept that existed 300 years before Blizzard did
umm yeah they were. What's the point of making a WWII game with a fictional setting? The French resistance angle? That didn't work out too well for the last EA developer, Pandemic, did it? Dice has screwed up the last 3 games and EA has monumentally screwed up this entire gen by lacing every game with MTs and shuttering prominent SP devs for their GaaS model. Like people have said before, if Dice wanted to tackle women fighting on the frontlines, then tell us about the Russian sniper ...
I know I'll be in the minority but I agree with Edge - I enjoyed Hollow Knight more than Octo. The storylines weren't engrossing enough to continue playing. I like the souls mechanic introduced in Hollow Knight and the added layer of choice (offense/defense). Very similar to the crafting system in Last of Us - do we make a molotov or a health kit). Octo is a fine game, a definite exclusive I'd recommend to any Switch owner. But Hollow is up there with Cuphead and Nex Machina as so...
Problem is though the Houser twins haven't penned the script & Leslie Benzies (and his team) is no longer with R*. So it's hard in this instance to adhere to that generally good rule. Questioning if a sequel can live up to expectations of the first is certainly not confined to just the gaming industry but it is most certainly a valid concern to raise. I bought Ni No Kuni 2 largely based off the experience I had with the 1st one despite the mixed reviews. It is my biggest disappoin...
Depends on the execution of both right? I've seen people express disappointment for both games since E3. Treyarch developed COD games are among the highest selling in the series. BO3 was supported with DLC for over 2 years and sold nearly 30 million. Red Dead not only will be measured against the success of the 1st RDR but also the runaway freight train known as GTA5. Poor public reception of either of these IPs could spell doom for their respective bottom lines.
What ...
you can always tell Xbox biased fans. They always speak in absolutes, like Sith lords lol. Outlandish answers to the extreme with no middle ground. An all digital future will be coming, maybe as soon as 15 years. But there's no reason both can't co-exist in the interim. I'm sure we'll hear many more horror stories during this slow transition.
Makes you wonder if Disney is actually prohibiting EA from capitalizing off KOTOR at this point. Watching the footage and this is like a no-brainer unless Mickey and company want us to focus on their cannon. EA is greedy I know. They prefer GaaS and MTs in their MP minded games. But RPGs like Fallout, Witcher, and Skyrim have proven there's plenty of revenue out there for single player narratives. Star Wars is still one of the most recognized IPs out there. I guess I'm just glad I ha...
Sorry Tim, traditional gamers aren't going to go quietly into the night. You can't homogenize gaming into "high-end mobile ports" so everyone can play together. I'll never play Fortnite again knowing this is the 1st step to your vision. Pretty smart of course, let fanboys blur the issues with cross play to hide your real agenda. Very Senator Palpatine-like
All fans and more importantly, all companies do it though so I'm not going to single out or criticize Nintendo for it. If you remember folks said the same of the PS4 in its early days. I do agree though without major third party support the Switch has an uneven balance of remasters to supplement its current library. Obviously that will change as the device matures. 2019 should be the last year of the 3DS and portable devs are already transitioning to Switch en masse. I wouldn't be sur...
you expect the beta to include every single map from the full release? Has any beta ever done what you're suggesting? Afterall these years one would figure the hate would eventually dissipate but no. Who the hell cares? Not yours but look at all these ridiculous comments. BR fanboys criticizing BO? That's rich. The industry is quite big enough for all of us. Treyarch is developing BO4. They've been COD's premier developer since MW2 (Infinity Ward's hierarchy split). The p...
Crazy to believe PSO2 launched nearly 6 years ago and it's still their number 1 digital seller according to their financials. Guess it never needed to come to the West :(
Co-op isn't the problem. RE5 didn't fail at all. It sold 7.3 million copies and was until recently, Capcom's best selling game of all-time. The irony is the 3 most hated RE games are three best selling RE games. I crack a smile at the toxic RE fanboys who pine away for fixed camera angles, archaic tank controls, and one dimensional characters all the while never realizing horror in and of itself is finite. The genre is short-lived; I mean you can only be scared once before it lose...
switch is already a next gen handheld, The WiiU was Nintendo's 8th gen console. They're not getting a mulligan from me
Used to be my favorite dev. Used to be my favorite pub. Used to be my favorite platform. What happened Gabe?
yeah Mars but what you're saying already exists and has for 2 gens now. You could've been all digital for the last decade on consoles. Sony and MS don't have to do anything different from what they're doing right now and they still cater to both crowds. Concerning HDD storage, enthusiasts just have to pay more. Ain't gonna change anytime soon. All I'm saying is it just doesn't make fiscal sense for these companies to produce a redundant product intended for a niche...
The only issue is will they? I don't see the incentive for a manufacturer. The money saved by not having a media format would be offset by the inherent need for bigger storage. We both know these companies' propensity to overcharge us for larger HDD capacity. I expect they'll just stick to what they've been doing: giving consumers a little bit of internal storage and let enthusiasts buy externals.
I saw it at Best Buy yesterday. Lots of copies there minus one lol. Just where ya look. I wouldn't expect major department store retailers to carry many copies. It is a retro style JRPG, with a full price tag, so ya can't blame'em for not ordering a large amount. Games like Octo, Nioh, and Demon's Souls - you almost need to pre-order to guarantee yourself a physical/LE copy Day 1 in the West
no you were using hyperbole for emphasis but it backfired.
Paid $5 for a 15 ft cable back in the PS360 days when I had two young children, a dog, and a cat roaming the house. Never had one trip over the cord while it was "tethered". But I have lost rechargeable batteries. I do have a pair that I discovered just recently that unfortunately don't hold a charge anymore. I still use the original gamepad that came with my launch PS4. Know what I don't use? My ...
