Depends, will Starfield use a variant of that ancient Gambryo engine AGAIN? And, is Todd Howard and company going to continue to copy/paste Ken Rolston's formula he crafted with Morrowind? Are there any new game mechanics that Bethesda would actually like to employ this time around that you know about and we don't?
that's why steam's user reviews are important. Like 5x9 stated above seeing total playtime alongside the review verifies ownership. "Did you find this post helpful" tab is all that's needed to ensure the veracity of the post via the community. I'm absolutely for review bombing as a form of protest. I find it a serious conflict of interest to see paid ads and a glowing review from the same publisher on a site.
MS offers up BC 3 years AFTER xbox one is released.
BC is offered AT launch in conjunction with cross-gen on PS5.
Plz tell me you see the HUGE difference.
In case you can't, one company offered BC as a result of poor sales and a drought in quality 1st party software. The other is using BC AND cross-gen to slowly transition into the next gen so that it doesn't disrupt the PS community.
Sony is very much trying to sell me 9th gen ...
don't mind him, the numbers speak for themselves. Naughty Dog's last two games: Last of Us has sold 19 million and Uncharted4, 15 million. Obviously they're one of the premiere studios in gaming. Look at the all-time best selling list and practically every game listed was bundled at some point so it's a poor argument to make. The article below even links Sony's own financial report from March 31st 2019 so it's straight from the horse's mouth
amigo I've been burned out on this retro 8/16 bit style since the SNES days. Probably since we grew up during those days but I have zero desire to return to that era
if creativity's your thing, check out Dreams n Concrete Genie. Both look excellent, are pS4 exclusives, and don't have "concrete" release dates yet.
honestly don't have a problem at all with mobile. As a core gamer I absolutely do when companies allocate resources to mobile instead of making core games. Blizzard could assemble an entire studio focused on mobile rather than leveraging the company's clout to produce a string of sure to be mediocre mobile IPs. As we found out with other big devs (Bethesda), even using a well known IP (Fallout) doesn't ensure a large slice of the mobile pie. Cater to each platform, cultivate new ...
Sony already gave us their blueprint this past gen. Look for the reveal in January/Feb. followed by official announcement of pricing/specs during E3 2020 and a Nov. 2020 release ($499 MSRP). I say this, again, a price cut with that huge lineup still slated for the next 18 months is plenty enough. Sony won't prematurely kill off their golden goose by announcing ANYTHING PS5 related before Xmas. You're setting yourself up for disappointment if you expect they will.
plz I've read so much worse in the 12 yrs I've been here. Just go the Trump console tariff article and read the comments. Nothin's gonna change, both sides just wastin breath.
again krib thats a not a link to Sony hating BC. They find it redundant. Statistics back up his assertion most people don't use the feature. Old PS1 & 2 games DO look ancient. Another cold hard truth. OG Xbox titles on 1X like Morrowind n Conker Reloaded look like ass on a 4K set. Gen 7 titles don't. Gears 2,3, Portal2, and RDR all look great in 4K. But those are enhanced. Even 720p on a 4K set is like smearing vaseline all over the display.
Why don't you conjure up that link showing us Sony hated BC? Cause my PS2 n PS3 had it. The cold hard truth is BC is a nice feature (especially early in the lifecycle of a fledgling console) but it's not required for it to be a success. The evidence lies in the wake of the non-BC PS4 outselling the WiiU and Xbox 1 combined: both of which are BC.
you mean P5 slim? I highly doubt we see any Pro SKU next gen unless it launches alongside the base model. No need for it since it's been confirmed the PS5 will upscale to 8K. Too much power will be needed to natively render games in 8k and we've already seen Sony 4K checkerboarding algorithms provide impressive results. I guarantee in 5 years 8K will have single digit market penetration and ergo would be a huge waste of resources. The Pro was Sony's response to another elongated...
expect a lot of these damage control articles soon. Almost every criticism I've read about Days Gone and Rage 2 could be referencing a Ubisoft title tit for tat. What, the guy with the bow tie decided to draw a line in the sand with these 2? I'm just glad the sales are proving there's a growing disconnect between reviewers and gamers. A man can dream for a day when the sheep trample the shepherds
I look forward to reading your excuses for the next 5 years!
annoying issue no doubt but hardly game breaking. Glad to see it was addressed via a patch. My only qualm with reviewers is inconsistency. I quit playing Bugthesda games years ago because of corrupted game saves yet nary a mention of that game breaking glitch in any review. Todd Howard and company never bothered fixing it and the game chugged along with near perfect scores. Bugthesda has used a variant of the Gambryo engine since Morrowind yet that ancient code still garners high praise despi...
IF we're only talking hardware sales (Wii 103 mil, PS3 89 mil.) then it's hardly the ass whooping Sony put on Nintendo during the PS1, PS2, and PS4 eras. You're right though, Ninty was undoubtedly the clear cut winner last gen when you factor in software, hardware and accessories combined revenue. They made more profit than Sony and MS combined. The real problem is they didn't make enough money for their partners or expand their targeted audience, so we're left heading int...
RDR>RDR2. My 2 biggest disappointments this gen - rdr2 and ni no kuni2. Just awful compared to their predecessors.
ha Nintendo fans aren't old enough to marry Colb. good one
What's sad is it's 2019 and interwebz douches are still calling people kids. How many times have you responded in this article? I'm not even halfway down the page and you've resorted to petty insults at least a half dozen times. Triggered much?
Vita's BC was ill-conceived since they really only offered any substantial BC in Japan through a trade in policy. I wasn't aware the PSP had any real BC. Maybe the PS1 did too. I already mentioned the disasterous sales of the WiiU. Yet here you are highlighting it as if it were ANY measure of success. Sony and MS both did a statistical analysis of BC and its usage over a decade ago and came away with the conclusion it's a highly requested feature that only a vocal minority actual...
