yep, and one of my Canadian mates couldn't swtich his profile over to online from off last night either. Our group gets together on Saturday nights for co-op action so hopefully all this is remedied when we get on tonight.
it's no hybrid. A HDMI out doesn't constitute a hybrid. Pairing a gamepad to the device doesn't constitute a hybrid - I can do that with my phone. If the dock featured an external GPU to augment the system's power, then yes. If the dock even included a HDD to supplement storage, then maybe. But I won't dignify Nintendo's sleazy PR and call the Switch anything but a handheld. And yes I own one.
You're absolutely right though; Switch will dismantl...
I cringe when I see someone using the word "kid" as a derogatory term to finish a sentence. Makes me think they're pre-pubescent teenager working at Taco Bell living in his parent's basement. Please don't spit on my big beef burrito for pointing this out
What are ya tryin to say? Don't sugarcoat it for me, just give it to me straight! - Phil Hartman
Look at this gen Vinnie. Nintendo dropped out of it and released a 9th gen handheld. I do credit MS for continuing to support its platform, unlike Nintendo. But MS shot themselves in the foot at launch and didn't have the studios to compensate. They wisely dropped Kinect and focused on fixing the hardware. They have acquired studios to spearhead NEXT gen but it 's not going to help in the short term. This gen is over; only real question is what will the final tallied numbers look lik...
only it's not 20 million ABizzel, it's 17 million. You think selling an average of 3.4 million a consoles a year outside the NA market is healthy? What you label "solid" I call dire
um yeah, sure they are. When the PSVR version sells the same as the Switch port I'm sure they're estastic.. Bethesda will join the others soon as they realize Western IPs don't sell on Nintendo hardware. They haven't since the glory days of the N64. Hey Bethesda, have any dance or exercise games? Those seem to sell well. Maybe you guys should license Mario and drop him with a power suit in a Fallout 4 port.
it's a dumb objective since ironically, you have NO objectivity.
If you pay over a $100 for any game, you should receive special cosmetic gear so the rest of us know who to make fun of. Like those special emotes they sold in Destiny
if nintendo wants to label it as a hybrid console, then suck it up buttercup. It's a console that took over 8 months to get a port, full pricetag, no DLC, and runs like crap. As a console the Switch is a POS. Nintendo makes great 1st party games and that's it. Everything else is completely substandard.
I wouldn't have an issue if Nintendo marketed the Switch as the "world's most powerful handheld" but we all know why they didn't; too many loyal...
exactly. They're an extension of the game to help elongate its length for fans. They're a helpful metric for publishers and developers to gauge progression and allocate resources for future sequels without being intrusive. Dropping SP in the newest COD being the latest example. I personally think it also unifies a platform to an extent and makes future purchases more likely for said ecosystem. Even outside of gaming dollars, which is what ALL these companies are aiming for. As others ...
Sorry if I came off mean spirited, Wasn't my intention. I try to be concise as my mind tends to wander when I type. I do agree with you about Sony and PS5. If it isn't native BC with this gen, then it's greed pure and simple. I give credit where it's due; MS launched BC that I thought was a gen away on consoles early. Ya know, the whole jump to x86 back in 2013 for both companies is what got me more excited than anything about their respective reveals.
I...
they have - twice. Insomniac just prefers to be independent.
I read the post from the dev, but I still question it. I need more information. R:FoM sold in excess of 4 million copies, i.e. obviously he is referring to revenue, not sales. Naturally as the publisher, Sony owns the IP for both and would've incurred all the costs. So no overhead. Makes me wonder how a game that sells 2.5 million makes more revenue than one that does 4 mil? The tie-in movie was a dud domes...
Why buy any multiplat on console at all? I understand the playing with friends angle on Sony and Nintendo consoles, but with Play Anywhere.....I mean I've been able to play all the AC games on one platform for years. Should I blog about how great PC is? Something's amiss. You actually own a PC right?
"One of the reasons I'm buying 9 of 10 games on Xbox." There fixed 4 you
BC on Xbox is good, not great. It's not true BC as the...
try Hollow Knight if you like metroidvania type games.
I'm expecting full BC next gen with the PS5. Even physical, UHD players read regular BR discs. That's why jumping to x86 architecture was exciting news last gen at the reveals. If either company, moving forward, doesn't allow full BC, it's greed pure and simple. I'm hoping Sony follows MS' lead next gen, and offers 4k updates on select PS3 titles.
remember there are no official numbers but Nintendo's for the 7th gen. Based off estimates prior to 2013, knowing Sony sold at least another 2.75 million PS3s since PS4 was launched, and the 360 enjoyed two consecutive good Holiday periods in 2013 & 2014, it may take the whole fiscal year 2018 for Sony to surpass their numbers last gen. I got Wii @ 104 million, PS3 @ 88/89 million, and the 360 @ 86/87 million.
If you and your mates crave a little L4D action, check out Earthfall. Not zombies but aliens. Been in early access for a while on Steam but coming to consoles next month
not in Japan. They haven't been for over 12 years now. That's Nintendo land. More hardware sales, more software sales, etc... Sony conceded the number one spot years ago when they shifted focus to the West during the early PS3 days. Even now with the PS4's monstrous popularity, the Switch routinely doubles its sales. I really don't believe Sony cares though. I think they're extremely happy being a competitive number 2 in the region. They have a solid market presence there ...
"I don't see how anyone can be against it."
@ Star, It's not that some of us are against it but it's actually more like some of us won't see the point next gen. We'll have a fixated display, 4K, for the first time in 3 generations. In the 7th gen PS360 struggled because we jumped from 720 to 1080p midway through. This gen, 4K became affordable. The Pro and 1X were solutions to this conundrum. Remember, doing nothing during the 7th gen saw con...
