I would wager Steamspy is no more accurate with their data than VGchartz is. We already know MHW sold 8 million when the PC version released. So at most 3 million, which is good, but no where near the numbers the author is suggesting.
more importantly why not just pull the article than mod every single comment? Anyone with a half a brain should know this article was gonna off rails within hours of being posted
bingo. I've been saying this for ages now. It's not just getting consumers to subscribe but to KEEP them subscribed. Look how long Netflix tried to live off third party content before they realized people were starving for original content too. Account retention spiked afterwards. Sony has been gradually morphing PSnow into a more accessible service and MS finally added its missing piece for GP in 1st party content. Next gen should be interesting.
sales don't matter? you can't be this FUCKING stupid? Everything revolves around sales......you must be 15 years old to say something so naive. I wish we still had the ignore button so I didn't have to read such delusional dumbass comments. Yeah I'm sure MS is happy with the $2 bucks they made off GP, rather than the $60 pricetag for a new game. Only takes 30 subscribers to equal the sale of one purchase, woo hoo I'm sure Greenberg is high fiving Major Nelson over this!
Thanks I was just gonna type this. Maybe MIDI is a tad on the cheap side in this day and age, but I kinda look at it like a homage to all those old school JRPGs we grew up playing in the 80s and 90s
good call. It always baffles me whenever any PC gamer refuses to pick up a console due to elitism. With the Play Anywhere policy, MS makes it even easier for families to enjoy content together. With the move to X86, I look for both companies to offer BC next gen too. Whichever one doesn't is doing it purely over greed.
here's what you don't understand - PC gamers who buy MS games don't care that MS gets the money. They care about about higher resolutions, framerates, textures assets, etc....on their platform of choice. It seems to me it's the console fanboys who always get their feathers ruffled when someone posts that.
u did. I have more games on my wall that I haven't played than those I have. Look at it this way - if there's a gaming crash in the next 5 years you're covered!
of course it is - to an xbox fanboy. Let me put in a way you'll have to understand.
"Cross-play, it's such a minor issue, that's it's just not a priority right now for Sony. Like really, who in the Sony community is affected by this? Let me tell you, almost nobody, most people that play online games already have a PS4. Nobody is buying PS4s just to play games, free or paid, with Xbots or Wiitards, "
Bottom line: Sony has almost...
PS3 never caught up to the 360 in the US. It was a sales behemoth here. It even outsold the Wii. PS3 did eventually overtake 360 globally in 2012 yet there's a huge disparity between the two in the States. That's why some publishers like EA were silently backing MS before launch. While Sony is clearly number one in the NA market, MS is still competitive here. The real advantage for Sony this gen & last has been the emergence of the European market and Sony's dominance there. ...
I dare say you are no business man either. The minute the PS5 drops, the PS4 becomes old hat. Sony is not stupid. The last of Us 2 will launch on PS4/Pro Fall 2019. You don't position Naughty's Dog masterpiece near the end of the generation so you can minimize its sales with the launch of a new platform. You do exactly what you did with the first one. Sell as many copies as you can on existing hardware, launch new hardware, and make it cross-gen. Same goes for Days Gone, Ghosts, and ...
used to be. Dice's last 3 games have sucked (both SW & BF1). Getting to the point now where if they don't release a Bad Company collection followed by a BC3 announcement, they're going to lose a significant portion of their userbase. Especially if BF5 isn't shock n awe
73.70 GB to be precise. Finally, been waiting on the Halo saga in 4K since last November. Feel like Rod Stewart, "Tonight's the night.....
looks like THQ Nordic bought Koch Media this past February for 121 million EUR. They remain independent subsidiaries but obviously they're all under the same umbrella now. Which is good since it's been a long time since the last TS and there's a wealth of source material to parody
Were these dumbass questions from an actual journalist at IGN or a lip service spoonfed to Greenburg from their PR department?
"With the Xbox Game Pass you have created a new standard for the video game industry, a service that comes close to Netflix's standards."
Umm what? The only standard they currently share with Netflix is the pricing model. Just like the executives at Netflix discovered you need a constant flow of original content t...
gamers need to lighten up...redefining the cardboard cutout genre...that made me chuckle. Bubbles for you good sir
not directed at Arkane, but Bethesda got what it rightly deserved after they tried to kill off Human Head studios. I'd call it poetic justice.
2019 ain't happening. Too much software in the pipeline. The PS4 era has been a golden goose to Sony and it doesn't make any fiscal sense to prematurely kill off their prized cash cow. Sony can sell another 15 million easy next year with a simple pricecut and games. Let the tech mature so it'll be more consumer friendly in 2020. Despite what some fans may believe, MS isn't in any hurry to launch new hardware so soon after the 1X.
@ sd11 no way have the bugs been fixed. I'm playing it right now on a 1X. There's input lag. Driving fast causes the framerate to dip into the low 20s. Mission NPCs get stuck in walls or under buildings preventing dialogue/advancement of said mission. I shouldn't have to fire up another side quest, do it quickly, and toggle original side hoping NPC is unstuck so I can deliver materials. I've even had infestations unable to clear due to a screamer/zombie in a wall.

Jesus krib, you linking that old report again for the millionth time here. Like I told you 5 years ago, just tweet your boy Greenberg and ask him what device, PS3 or 360 sold more globally last gen. Or maybe you did, guess you're still waiting for that answer huh?
For the record, 360 was 1st in NA, last globally. Sales after 2013 are virtually non-existent for the 360.
