Well I'm just glad the last 5 years of consoles holding back game development will take a leap forward. PC games have had superior graphical fidelity all along but the core games are still designed to run on 2005 hardware with 512mb ram.

I wouldn't even care about the launch problems if the game was decent. It's frankly shocking how horribly limited and restricted this game is. Went from a sandbox to a play pen.

This is exactly why I'm excited about the next-gen consoles. Consoles have been holding back game developers for a very long time now. No matter how much better graphical fidelity PC hardware gets you, the basic game was designed to run on an Xbox from 2005 with 512mb of ram. Skyrim looks much prettier on PC, yet people fail to realize is that its basic design was heavily limited from the start. It's not about the graphics this time, it's about everything else better hardware give...

God awful design by an amateur. I'm no 3d artist but I would feel embarrassed uploading something that terrible for the public to see.

Sony always makes sleek products I seriously doubt they'll be giving us a flat plain box.

Why that hasn't been at least re-released on modern systems is baffling..............And as I double check myself Skies of Arcadia HD all but confirmed is top google search!

Well really each PC graphics card generation is a significant leap over the consoles. And really they came a little early to miss a wave of huge improvements. If 360/PS3 had come out in 2007 we probably wouldn't need a graphical update until 2017. Probably somewhere around WiiU specs haha.

Rebranding it is probably the best idea I've heard. They screwed up big time calling it the Wii U. It makes it sound like a peripheral (Wiifit, Wiimote) and not a brand new console. But of course hardware that barely surpasses current gen doesn't exactly help much either.

I just assumed Nintendo would use their massive DS and Wii cash wad to fund a ton of studios and new games. It really never happened and they show no signs of changing. It's sad but Nintendo is c...

Amazon digital download of it (steam copy anyways) comes with X-Com and a $30 credit toward 2k games downloads.

No. But I haven't bought anything but the big console exclusives in the last few years. Which is like 12 PS3 games with more to come and 2 Halo games. Everything multiplat on PC.

I am kind of regretting buying HD collections on disc because that's probably the first things guaranteed to be ported to PS4. Digital content at least has that advantage. I doubt they'll ever bother with the PS3 titles though.

Everyone keeps mentioning games. Are you forgetting that the Wii's success had absolutely nothing to do with games or especially game quality? It definitely had some damned good Nintendo first party games. The big seller was the Wiimote gimmick appeal to casuals and a lower price point than the competition (although still a rip-off for rehashed gamecube hardware). But the sales just fizzled after 4 years. Nintendo tried the gimmick route again with the WiiU but it has utterly failed to re...

Definitely the best to own right at this moment but really not the best for its time. In terms of technology that's probably Dreamcast.

I don't know about someone growing up today but imo 1997-2002 was probably the absolute golden age of gaming. 3D gaming was getting perfected and studios had yet to turn everything into the bland homogeneous crap of today. Everything was new and there were so many genre masterpieces that still haven't been surpassed today.

Well first of all don't pick Simcity 4 (deadspace3 is an option). Buy it on Steam when it's $5 at some point and forget Simcity 5 exists until someone cracks a total offline version. If they want to drive away paying customers then you should have no qualms about going to other sources to get the proper game. I just hope some group is able to create a functional local cracked game that EA refuses to provide us. Would prove once and for all the folly of always on DRM garbage.

More power will certainly help. 8 years is quite a long time and I think most people are underestimating how much 360/PS3 have been holding back developers. As a PC gamer it was very evident since 2007-8.

With every multiplat game these days the basic game is designed to run within 512MB ram and the other limitations of 360/PS3. 16GB ram and 3GB video card on PC only makes Skyrim prettier, not a deeper game. Just imagine how much deeper and more interactive Skyrim could be i...

Kinect won't succeed no matter how hard they push it. It would be one thing if 720 were launching with the Kinect as a brand new gimmick. It would have the Wiimote-like hype that sold the Wii. But it's really already been played out on the 360 and no one is going to care.

I just hope Microsoft pulls their heads out of their asses and has some core games outside of Halo/Gears/Forza. Xbox can't survive on these tired franchises alone. They'll lose their base to ...

Driving away paying customers with DRM and angering everyone by pushing bad DLC practices. Hope that's the reasons at least.
