If you have the PC version, you just need something portable capable enough to run the game. there was no need to pay twice just to take the game with you.
Skyrim was already portable, every tablet or laptop capable of running the game makes it portable, heres a $300 one year old tablet running the game at 720p at 40+ fps:

That is one hell of a trailer!
It had progressive scan (480p) with the component cables, very beautifull image at the time.
Ed I don't usually read all of your text walls but this time you have been spot on! I love the gamecube and I also believe it has the best nintendo exclusive's line up, I even played more gamecube games in my Wii than Wii games (Mario Party series FTW) because there where so many gamecube games I still had to play, Soul Calibur 2 it's still my favorite of that franchise to this day and link was a pretty good character and the best of the consoles exclusive characters.
...
But more won't hurt.
I'll give you a thumbs up theKiller, I may not totally agree with you, but that's a good point, I just hope they came up with another eternal darkness once in a while or a metroid prime style re-invention of a franchise along with those kiddy games we know and love.
Icube tablet, win10 64 bit with steam installed:
Dota 2, CS:GO, Skyrim, L4D2, TF2, Civ 5 & PoE

Price: 270-360$
It doesn't have Nintendo exclusives but it has the flexibility of PC gaming and you can hook it up to your tv as well and use any controller of your choice...
The game is already portable, as long as you have a tablet or a laptop capable of running the game.
A lot of popular PC games run on modest hardware at low settings, the prices are ridiculous for most games (Skyrim is cheap as heck nowadays) and there is no need for a crossbuy program, no matter in what hardware you are playing, your account is more flexible so you can play your games without having to tie them to one device, play other users digital games (steam has family...
It doesn't look bad, the PS4 and Xbox version will look much better, but this graphics ain't bad at all and is playable on the go! I hope it gets the gameplay intact and all its features, that is more important.
Well, having expasions is cool and nowadays is easy peasy kids. I remember that everybody was excited for an ocarina of time expasion back in the day, Ura Zelda was all the rage XD. It's a shame that it was never released as intended because it was originally planned for the 64DD, the disk drive for the N64, a lot of people were willing to pay for the disk drive for expanding games this way, like Formula Zero and Zelda64, Sadly, the 64DD had some kind of soft release, failed, never left J...
You are right Neon, is more optimal to use a tablet suited for multimedia capabilities but is more practical to leave home with just one tablet, I like to travel light. The size of the screen is not that bad, I mean, I know is 720p but given the size its not a big deal, It isn't a bad trade off if that means I'm gonna have the console gaming experience on the go! I hope it doesn't take long to sort the streaming apps situation.
It's a bummer that you had to ...
It's a Konami game, it might be missing the last chapter of its history mode or the ending is planned as dlc and could be scrapped before its release so I'll get my copy used.
On airports, and other places where I stay, I travel a lot and last time I was at a cheap motel, the tv was awfull but they had wi fi, plus if I'm near a power source I can turn my phone into a modem-router and watch my favorite show on a tablet, laptop, etc. You know Wifi, right? Switch isn't only a console-handheld is also a tablet, media capabilities is a must, but I'm sure those will be implemented in the future. BTW, have you fixed your PS4 audio? I remember that you thought ...
Well, I wouldn't like to go out with two tablets while traveling and I don't like to watch movies on my cellphone because it can also drain my battery, I usually bring one device with me when I'm on the road, having multimedia capabilities is a big plus so it's a shame, but hey, at least is for a while, right?
At Neonridr: The best audio setup would be passing the audio directly to the reciever through the HDMI, it has more bandwith dedicated to audio than the toslink, conect it to your Audio Receiver and then, when you configure your PS4 to pass the audio through the HDMI, you'll see that it will support higher sample rates (up to 24-bit 192kHz) and "uncompressed audio" beyond two channels.
I agree, uncompressed audio is the way to go! A good stereo system using Linear PCM with a high sampling rate is much better than most of the run-of-the-mill home theathers using codecs. It was a shame that the Wii U didn't supported bitstream audio thought, but that wasn't a hardware issue, I hope the switch does.
EDMIX, I just wanted to point out two holes in your arguments:
*I can use my phone as a portable console with a cord, the cord goes to the phone but I can play with a controller, away from my phone.
*The Switch's CPU and GPU didn't needed to be modified to fit a handheld because Nvidea Tegra tech is mobile tech, its ARM based.
But I agree that Switch is a powerfull handheld-tablet that can act as a capable console when docked. T...
If the system has 4gb, it won't be all to games, OS and background operations will take a bite off that pool, how much is up to the developer and further optimization through system updates.
I believe it will be a bespoke version of skyrim, first and foremost is the ram issue, the remastered version had a change in the renderer, it supports volumetric light and god rays, improved textures, lod, depth of field and mod support for consoles, not all of this is going to come intact, Zelda runs at 30 fps with drops at 900p while docked, it cannot pull all the special edition features, most of them, yes, but not all of them.
