Those cretins at Activision will probably release Crash as another soulless Skylander down the road.
@trouble_bubble
Some of those games were exclusive, some were not:
* Resident Evil (launched in SATURN and had an "uncensored" PC version, the changes were some minor things like Chris smoking in the intro FMV)
* Original GTA launched first on PC followed two months later by the PSX version and "GTA3" had timed exclusivity for PS2 (6 months) (the only sony exclusives being the "Stories" PSP series, you can experience those on PSVI...
Nope, I believe (thought it might be an earlier case out there) Nintendo started this nonsense demanding exclusivity for third party games released for the NES and at an earlier point required to sign a contract that would obligate these parties to develop exclusively for the system, obviously they were sued and 'till this day some people still hate them for this rough start.
Thanks for the update!
@Inthelab
My point is that the focus should be on making a game enjoyable and fun. A lot of gamers are limited, most part of a generation, to one platform and even though there is a performance gap between the xbone and ps4 it is not huge, every game engine that is able to run on ps4 is able to run on the bone as well, yes, with some compromises in most cases but these compromises aren't that big, I don't hate comparisons reviews as those are helpful for multiplatform users su...
@Utalkin2me both versions will have the same content thus offering the same experience (story and gameplay) the game will perform similar, big deal, if people enjoy their game/console occasional dips between 60-45 fps won't be a deal breaker.
I agree that this is getting old fast: "the ps4 version is superior, ps4 has better hardware", yeah, ok, let's move on. I really don't care anymore and I'm planning to buy both consoles because of "games" and not for "counting frames and pixels", I have my high end rig for that kind of stuff ;)
Advantage Starchild, thumbs up!
@drjonesjnr for "some" PC gamers messing with the game is part of the charm may it be by optimizing its configuration or modding the heck out of it, its just a "choice".
@JBSleek
If it's comfortable and harmless, yes, I do want new generation VR Modules! and new gaming experiences, AR potential is still untapped, I hope those new attempts (Oculus, morpheus, etc) manage to hit the spot XD
A gamer loves games, marketing tools just brag about companies, play games, don't get played like a freaking puppet.
Resident Evil is multiplatform since its first instalment.
I agree with you that the guy is the "most talented game designer in gaming" but he's not in god mode like some media has made to believe, as much of the genres he's worked on already existed but he and he's team added a lot nonetheless, the targeting 3d combat system I believe I saw it first a year earlier on Megaman Legends and its a shame that that game isn't as fondly remembered as Ocarina of Time, it really is on the same league but it didn't have the same h...
There Are pictures showing a comparison of the PC against a PC version with some disabled features in it's config file turned on showing that the PC version was indeed downgraded, which part of the article is ranting about console downgrade?
@Austin48
Because the original debuted on saturn, ps1 and PC, why debut the reboot on just one platform??
Bamco can afford it, has the track record as publisher and backer of a lot of IPs and is a multiplataform developer, Bamco is the way to go.
Plus: Manga, anime and merchandising muscle!
Maybe Bandai-Namco could be a better option: Bamco releases all kinds of games, some games with cross-overs are naturally fitted, the company is very similar to what capcom once was, it has a respectable presence in the arcade and competition scene, lots of resources available and presence in other medias.
Atlus shines as a multiplatform developer. Why will some of you ever wish to see some of its franchises exclusively tied to one platform, how many of you own shares on nintendo-sony-microsoft for god sake :S if you really love those games wouldn't you want them to reach as many gamers as possible?
This is going to be long because it is my last bubble and I apologize for not being able to further discuss. I'm not talking about hardware resources wonderful monkey man, I'm talking about budget and man power, big open world games tend to be an expensive venture with huge teams involved as this kind of games are released on multiple platforms in order to shoot for a bigger audience and generate profit, I don't think that the next zelda is aiming for this kind of experience and I...
I'm talking about generating a game in the vein of skyrim with less resources as FATNEAL said he wanted tons of weapons, means of transportation, hundreds of sidequests, towns, etc, etc. Anouma said he wanted to return to the game's roots and of course he means the freedom in the first zelda and "fyi" no need to preach me the zelda gospel, I've a complete copy since the 80s, next time read properly.
You're out of your mind @Utalkin2me, the very first video games were made by researchers, students and thesists in centers of computer research so "the first video gamers were students" and the FIRST COMMERCIAL GAMES to reach the mainstream market were hybrid (electronic and mechanical) ARCADE GAMES, the first micro computers were released as prebuilt or "DIY" kits in 1971, one year before the first "arguably" video game console (the Magnavox Odyssey) the fir...
