I beat the game in under 20 hours. Most of my runs were under an hour. I work full time. Got 2 kids. Don't recognise this fictional scenario you're writing about
Bought this is the sale for £12, specifically to play the enhanced edition. Looking forward to it
Well I've definitely been playing more. The PS5, for me at least, has been an absolute Joy. Since November, I've played and finished so many games. Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, AC Valhalla, Hitman 2&3, Disco Elysium, Returnal, Ghost of Tsushima (Including the raid), Sackboy, Astrobot, Control UE...There are more, but I've lost track.
Stand outs for me are Returnal and Disco Elysium. They both were incredible for very different reasons.
Next up...
It's nowhere near 20% I remember reading a report on it and it's actually just a tiny fraction of them. It just seems a lot because of how much it was in the news
The difficulty is hugely exaggerated. I finished biomes 4,5,6 with a single life and if anything I could've done with being longer and a bit more challenging. But the fact that I wanted more and I'm still playing it, speaks volumes about how excellent this game is. Absolutely love it.
I thought it was really hard at first. I really do think that Act 2 is far easier than the first. You reach a point where the weapons become super powered and you have a certain understanding of how to play and it isn't very challenging at all
Once I'd got the Hollow seeker with the portal beam, it was like playing on easy. From the boss of the fourth biome to the end of the game, I didn't die once. Crazy OP
Finished Returnal today. Fortunately had no bugs or crashes during my playthrough
@paleblood. I see we're both reading every single Returnal story! Glad someone is enjoying it as much as I am haha
I'm on the 4th biome after 16 hours. If it was shorter I'd want a refund. I'm happy with it the way it is. I'm still really enjoying it and think thats it's perfectly pitched
When you die in the 4th, you stay in the 4th? Or are you counting the 4th biome as the 3rd because it's overgrown?
That's true. After the third boss, you don't have to start all over. That's part of why I'm having trouble understanding what all the fuss is about. You can go straight to the 2nd and 3rd biome from biome 1. You can teleport to the top of the mountain in biome 2, from the base. And after biome 3, you restart from that point. Even in biome 3, I think I'm right in saying that you can teleport to the base of the tower from any teleporter. I'm currently on biome 4 and I d...
After you've fought the second boss once, you can get back there very quickly. There's a portal to the second biome and then another portal at the foot of the mountain, taking you straight to the boss. When I lost the first time I fought him, I was back fighting him again within 15 minutes. I do think the lack of save is slightly overblown. Looking at my stats, I've played 16 hours. I've died 20 times and I've just unlocked the boss of the 4th biome
Maybe you're the bot and we're all just having fun playing our new game? But you'd hate that wouldn't you? Silly billy bot.
Personally I think youd be hard pressed to beat it for the money. I think a lot of people find it uncomfortable, but among my friend group, we all find it incredibly comfortable and we all love ours
I took no damage at all from the first 2 phases....Phase 3, I got absolutely rinsed! Hahaha
100% this! The 3D audio is simply phenomenal. The ability to place things all around you, by audio alone is incredible. I just beat Ixion and I could hear where he was flying in from. During his third phase I could identify his position as I fled from him and turned to face him. The jungle in the first biome feels alive. It surrounds me. And when that huge door starts to open on the way to the first boos, I flinched. Bravo Housemarque
I'd argue that the quality of character animation and all the obsessive details, like the way the blood drains from bodies and seeps into the cracks in tiles, adds more to the realism than raytracing.
Yes, the lighting in the ME:EE is seriously next level and totally impressive, but the characters still aren't as believable and the way everybody interacts with everything isn't as convincing. What ND achieved in this area can't be duplicated by turning on eff...
Yeah, and Thanos didn't really click his fingers and make everybody disappear, that was all faked too. Same with the lightsabers in star wars. They're added afterwards!
Every game you've ever played has optical tricks like this. It's how games are made. From baked lighting to pre calculated physics, to swapping out textures and shaders on the same geometry. Are you suggesting any thing less than physically knocking out a characters teeth with deforming jaw g...
I beat the game using the Pulse headset and for me, the 3D audio in this game was the audio equivalent of VR. It absolutely blew me away. The first thing I told my friends about was the audio. Honestly it's the real deal
