I saw the Pro as a good upgrade asset to the PS5. I can still sell my unit for a good $300 on most social marketplaces and a $200 upgrade to the 5 doesn't seem like a bad option. I just hope I'm quick enough to place a pre-order as I'm sure it'll sell out insanely fast
What I'm most excited about and I know PC players will already say " I can do this for years now" is the ability for me to jump between multiple games very quickly. Quick Resume is what its called on Series X i'm sure the PS5 will have a similar ability. But its great when I'm playing a SP game, friends hop on and I need to switch to COD or BF and I don't have to close out the other title
Also should help with updating speeds, as the writing proce...
With the talent they have it would be absolute blasphemy for them to be stuck to a reboot of an older IP. Knowing Microsoft though I know they wouldn't risk it and they're probably working on the Perfect Dark reboot. Which there's nothing wrong with, Santa Monica showed a reboot can absolutely shine as basically a new game, but I really want some new and unique IPs from Microsoft this gen, especially from 343 and Coalition....after their trilogies are done let them work on their o...
IDK man, I've avoided the leaks and will buy this game Day 1 as ND has never let me down before. But if the consensus on the internet is right and the story is utter trash....for a narrative driven game its absolutely is a huge flaw, regardless of the gameplay innovations and phenomenal level of production. Its the same reason why despite having much better game play mechanics, Tomb Raider is dog pop compared to Uncharted
Lies according to N4G only PS4's sell out, this is clearly fake news designed to make Microsoft look good
ALL of it from the CPU to the GPU to the SSD is important for graphics technology
Can't have good lighting without a powerful enough GPU to handle it
Can't load incredibly dense detailed textures and objects without fast RAM and fast SSD
Can't aim for 60 FPS fluidity and advanced physics rendering without a good CPU
Both Series X and PS5 are great pieces of hardware. Both have incredibly talented developer...
What're you talking about? lmao Sony's always had the stronger hardware especially on the CPU/GPU side. The PS3's cell was light years ahead of the Xbox 360s Xenos chip. The PS4 also has much faster RAM and had more CU's and GPU power than the Xbox One. It has less to do with outside the box hardware and more to do with how skilled their developers are, the ICE team in particular continues to push innovation in the graphics field.
Hopefully now with the mor...
You presume the N4G crowd has an above average intelligence
Wrong
Asset streaming is heavily reliant on raw speeds of the SSD true. However the Series X's SSD is just some off the shelf discount SSD. The design process included two sets of decoders built into the SSD controller and linked to the CPU/GPU allowing for baked in compression at the system level. In practice the Series X's SSD is no where near as slow as the arm chair engineers at N4G believe. Still not faster than the PS5's insane IO bandwidth, but its not h...
Didn't you know all Sony can innovate on hardware Microsoft engineers are just duds they probably hired from trade schools
@xenz
Lmao you could at least try to sound somewhat intelligible.
Asset streaming is also reliant on how effective system decoders at the hardware level are. Microsoft's SSD is slower, but its also far faster than a lot of the SSDs out there and Microsoft has built in two layer set of decoders baked into the SSD controller. Not to mention much faster RAM that can handle higher quality assets too than the PS5's RAM. There is no doubt this can run on the Ser...
Everyone seems to be talking about Sony's advantage on the SSD raw/ compressed speeds. Not a single pip about how the Xbox Series X has literally 16 more CUs on the GPU dye. For an engine thats heavily reliant on incredibly realistic lighting, dynamic GI is NOT cheap. Remedy's Northlight engine already has this and it absolutely demolishes graphics cards, and the more CUs you have the more capable your GPU is of producing better performance in intense lighting set ups not to mention R...
Wow didn't realize the successor console could do things graphically its predecessor could not....call me shocked
Typical Gamingbolt lmao
Those weren't 8K assets lmao, EPIC games states that the technology allows them to push UP TO 8k quality assets. The SSD architectures in both systems are extremely similar, nonetheless the PS5's SSD is not so far ahead that it can load 8K assets while the Series X's can't
Its a stepping stone, it will never be as realistic as a fully real time GI ray traced lighting solution. But for the hardware we're getting next generation its probably more realistic than Ray Traced lighting. Nonetheless, closer to the generation where we'll eventually match Hollywood lvl CGI on our video games
What I find hilarious is how you're trying to really mock people for your perceived idea of higher intelligence when you really do not have any clue as to what you're talking about. Global Illumination is a form of a lighting technique in which your view of the screen or scene in the case of movies/ video games is shown through a combination of indirect and direct lighting. Ray tracing is a rendering technique, its the utilization of light paths to improve realism in virtual worlds. T...
The one thing I've yet to see from UE5 is a real time ray tracing solution. They state dynamic GI, but thats really a stepping stone to real time ray tracing based GI. That demo was incredibly impressive, especially the LOD part, but Naughty Dog has already shown you don't need dynamic GI to produce great indirect bounce lighting, I've really only seen ray tracing beat their lighting methods.
They state UE5 will have ray tracing , curious as to why it was omitte...
At 110 million plus PS4's sold. If even one 10% of that install base upgrades to PS5 they'll have a successful launch
Trying to see where the lack of talent in Microsoft's internal studios is?
Obsidian: Made Outerworlds, which is ironically always recommended in PS Magazines by editors as a Must Play title
Ninja Theory: Cory Barlog and Yoshida have both praised Senua's Story, both veterans in the industry
Coalition: Haven't really made a bad game, Gears 4 was good, Gears 5 was great. Yeah its probably not at UC levels of quality, but their games are great

This is awesome! Thanks PS Plus, the MP is pretty fun and a lot less sweaty than COD:MW so i'd be a great way to get the lobbies filled again
