I know there are a lot of great games coming out over the next 12 months but this is my most highly anticipated of them all:) However I am not looking forward to whatever the new resource gimmick will be. Mako vs. planet scanning, they were both awful!
I know I'm in the extreme minority on this but I really enjoyed the second game a lot. I'm looking forward to the next installment in the series.
This is why Microsoft is not willing to be as open to Valve as Sony has been. Steam is killing GFWL, it would do the same to XBL.
If Sony were smart they would let Steam become the game client on their console, that would be a huge blow to Xbox Live.
Why spend more money on first party studios when they can get timed exclusives for cheaper?
This isn't screwing over owners of another console any more than having Halo is screwing over PS3 or having Uncharted is screwing over 360.
Third party has been a very important factor this generation, one that Nintendo abandoned long ago and one that Sony had a stranglehold on only a generation ago.
Well they have Skyrim with timed exclusives for one ;p
Alan Wake is my second favorite game this genration, right behind Red Dead Redemption.
It's actually my only account on here, only been reading the site for about a month tops.
I'm also not sure how it is trolling to point out that Steam and Xbox Live are competitors.
So disappointing. I've been waiting since N64 for a good Nintendo console. Zelda, Mario, Metroid are all games I love and grew up on but the fact that the only way to experience new entries in the series is with gimmicky controllers is all the reason I need to steer clear for another generation.
If anything this generation has taught me to wait at least a year if not more before jumping on the new console bandwagon. Hardware failure rates, lack-luster launch titles all for a high price point.
Wait a year, pick up games that you didn't play this generation for cheap.
I could not have said it better myself. I just don't understand the hype around the Resistance series, it's terribly average. Sony has done a good job of advertising it like it's a AAA game and people are apparently falling for it.
Why? Because they have to depend on an outside source to prop up their inability to build a good online network? The fact that PSN is free and Microsoft can still charge for it's service shows how shoddy PSN is.
Oh goodie, another "my console is better than your console" thread. Anyway...
Steam wants to be a hub for games and Xbox Live wants to be a hub for games. It would make no sense for Microsot to embrace what Valve is doing anymore then it would make sense for Valve to incorporate Xbox Live into it's service.
It makes sense for Sony to open itself up to Valve because PSN is a joke. I love my PS3 but PSN itself is a joke.
I think I am just burning out on this generation, possibly gaming all together. After Uncharted and Gears I might sell off the PS3 and 360 and give myself a breather for a year or two and see what PS4 and 720 look like.
All the discussion over sales, better graphics, exclusives makes me miss the days of owning a N64 and just getting the friend together for an all night marathon session of GoldenEye.
Great little commercial, very funny. I've never understood the need to buy special editions of games or movie that are really nothing more but trinkets. I just want the game!
"Hole in the Wall"? Give me a heads up when they come out with "Glory Hole" Kinect. Come on, that was too easy ;p
The graphics look incredible, like nothing else. However I don't know if I'm excited for this game, I'm kinda' sick of shooters all together at this point. Been really enjoy third person for the last year (Alan Wake, Red Dead, Uncharted, Gears).
Alan Wake is my 2nd favorite this generation right behind Red Dead Redemption:)
Pleaase everybody, stop the 3D garbage, ughhhhhhhh!
I remember the hype around Homecoming as well. Every new installment in the series gets build up as a return to the roots, a real Silent Hill game and then it is not. I would assume this will be another sub-par horror game with the SH name attached to it. The music itself made Silent Hill and Akira Yamaoka is nowhere near this trash.
My number one pick from that list would be Asami from "Audition", my favorite Takashi Miike film by far! Although now that I think about it a fighting game with just characters from Miike films would be perfect. Ichi, Kakihara and Jijii from "Ichi the Killer", Asami from "Audition", the visitor from "Vistior Q", Zebraman from "Zebraman". Heck, even the cow head guy from "Gozu":)
