Legend of Zelda: I was in 4th grade at the time, parents were getting ready to throw a Christmas party for their co-workers and needed to keep me busy. Dad took me to Toys "R" Us and said I could pick out one NES game. I picked the one with the shiny gold cartridge. I was enthralled and didn't stop until I beat the game:)
FFVII: Was truly the first game since Legend of Zelda that hooked me that hard. A much longer slog but I remeber an entire week of my life...
I have to agree with this list. Uncharted 2 was brilliant but the first installment is actually what almost kept me from getting a PS3 at the time, I disliked it that much!
I also agree on God of War III. What's funny is that I had not played the first two before the third installment. Graphically a beautiful game but when I had the opportunity to play the HD collection on parts I & II I couldn't buy it quick enough, they were just much better games.

Now wave your hands at the screenshots. There! You just had a Kinect experience ;p
Who cares if its easy to develop for or not? The fact is game makers will be maxed out with grahpics of the current generation once PS4 and 720 hits since Wii U is going for current standards.
Very excited, can't wait to finish up the trilogy!
John Carmack: "I don't want a next-gen system I want a this-gen system with the same graphics as a PS3 and 360 but with a really big goofy controller that looks like an iPad".
*sarcasm off
Nah, the only good scene was the opening theme music with the Star Wars graphic. After that it was a mess.
Take one of the worst scenes in cinema history and integrate Kinect. Bazillion dollars!
Back in the day when I loved owning a Nintendo console. The one-two punch of NES and SNES was a big part of my childhood.
Wii U isn't a next-gen console, it's a this-gen console.
Halo, Uncharted, Gears of War, Resistance, Fable, Infamous and COD all say hello!
The game industry in general is reliant on existing properties right now.
Shenmue is becoming like FFVII, each company knows the game everyone wants and yet they refuse to take it seriously. I guess they hate money.
On a side note, I would love to see some HD collections from Sega, in particular the Jet Grind/Set series, both games were so much fun and the art style would look so slick with a new coat of paint on it.
Let's hope not.
All I can say is YES to Bayonetta 2. What a fun game! From start to finish I truly enjoyed every moment. I know God of War III was the media darling for hack-n-slash games but the mechanics in Bayonetta were just far more polished. I can't wait:)
Give it some time, maybe you'll enjoy it after getting used to the mechanics. After an entire day I just couldn't do it.
My only problem with Killzone 3 is that the areas you move around in are quite small compared to most other games. The graphics look the way they do because most of what you are looking at is just a big backdrop you can't ineract with or walk up to outside of you little paths.
I got my pre-order in the mail earlier today (PS3) and have to say I'm very dissapointed after about 7 hours in. Maybe I was expecting something different, I have enjoyed stealth games in the past (even the Deus Ex series) but I've spent an entire day just forcing myself to keep going, so I put it up on Amazon and that is why I am posting random comments now;)
Perhaps I don't find the challenge of a game like this to be fun anymore. I've had a lot of fun in ...
I have to agree, excited to finish up the trilogy but I was playing Uncharted 2 again just a lil' while ago and Gears 3 doesn't even look that good, I can't imagine UC3.
Parasite EVE 2 was what I was waiting for:) So worth the price! Plus it's refreshing to play games again where trophies/achievements are popping up all over the place.
