Gamestop is overprice to begin with on all titles. Amazon has a far larger selection at a much more reasonable price and Best Buy is coming on strong.
Best Buy has REALLY come on strong, I've been to a few recently that have had HUGE selections of pre-owned games and the condition is always top notch without stickers all over the place. Prices are also far better on pre-owned across the board.
Same here! I went in to pick up 3 NEW games (Infamous 2, No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned). Guy put three open games on counter that had "new" stickers plastered on them ;/ If I'm paying full price on something I want it sealed without stickers all over case and a disc that was in a sleeve.
I love Alan Wake and Gears but to me a good bundle is one that actually includes the games on discs. If you were going to be picking up a 250gb Xbox then nothing to lose but the idea of DLC just doesn't do anything for me.
After the huge sales of PS2 I believe Sony got cocky this generation which accounted for an ugly launch. Huge console with very little in the way of must own titles and a price point that was astronomical. I believe Sony felt after that people would buy PS3 no matter what, Microsoft took advantage of it.
I prefer the PS3 over the 360 and after Gears 3 will be selling off the Xbox and sticking to one console only for the rest of this generation.
They are in a position to refuse because of the position of Xbox Live. The service is very strong and they can have their cake and eat it too. If a developer wants Microsoft to take care of publishing then they want some type of exclusive deal in return. It's not childish, it's buisness and right now it's good buisness.
I love that someone disagrees with the fact that if the next Xbox doesn't have Blu-ray that I'll be sticking with PS4. That's a fact jack:)
Its because the story in ME1 was far superior, you didn't spend an entire game putting together a team. I was also dissapointed when characters you built relationships with in the first game were little more than footnotes in the second.
If you spent all your time romancing Ashley in game 1 only to find you get a couple minutes of chit chat in the entire second game with her, well that was lame. Bioware really tried to push Liara from the get go as the romantic interes...
I think it has dissapointed those who were fans of the first, the changes in basic gameplay were quite drastic between part 1 an 2. I don't think it has anything to do with wanting over=the-top RPGs, I know I don't but the first had a decent balance with the second turing into Gears of War.
I am excited to finish the story. Unfortunately my save files for Mass Effect 1 were corrupted so all the countless hours of choices are gone. The interactive comic helps with some key plot points but all those side missions are all for not.
As for the changes in the series itself it does feel like Gears Effect more than Mass Effect. Outside of the shooting mechanics and grahpics everything in ME1 was much more enjoyable.
I think you will see a price drop but only after the initial Gears of War 3 rush. Regardless of your feelings on the franchise that game is going to sell systems.
I had the opportunity to see both on the same 60" tv for a good about of time and wish every multiplat looked this close across PS3/360. They did a great job with this title, other developers take notice!
I agree but enjoy both games quite a bit for different reasons including the ones you brought up. Varitey is the spice of life and chainsaws just make it better:)
Speaking for myself next generation I am interested in owning one console only. I will be interested to see what Sony and Microsoft have up their sleeves. However, if 720 does not have Blu-ray then PS4 it is. I like having a media center that will play my games and movies, not two seperate devices.
Mario all the way on this one.
If things were cancelled for being an embarrassment to the Star Wars franchise then the prequels would not exist;p
This would matter if I were a businessman but I am a gamer and when I'm plaing a game I'm concerned about one thing, am I having a fun experience? I thought Heavy Rain was beautiful but had far more fun with Alan Wake.
With that said I'm equally excited for Gears 3 and Uncharted 3, those are my two most wanted games to round out this year. One outselling the other won't impact that.
There is a lot not perfect about Deus Ex, after 7 hours with my preorder today I can say that for me this will probably be the most overrated game of the year.
"Giving it lower then a 9 would be a joke seeing as its still far superior to other hack and slash games."
Bayonetta says hello, that is THE definitive hack-n-slash for this generation.
I'm a much bigger fan of this PS3 at this point of the generation but to say the 360 has shoddy hardware based on issues from years ago is as goofy as saying somebody shouldn't get a PS3 Slim because PS3 was so big when it launched:/
