@Luke

While it is important that those 3rd party games are top notch, you have to remember that the PS3 has those games to.

But on top of that they have more exclusives. And since you metioned it, you can see that sales of the PS3 have been getting better as more PS3 exclusives release.

Sure price drops lead to sales surges, but ultimately game selection leads to a purchase from a gamer.

I have 25 games sitting acr...

It is, if repairing was such a hassle in previous games, then FIX THE REPAIR SYSTEM. Removing it is just a bad move for this style of game.

Imagine if Fallout did not have a repair system. How fun would that be?

@Sony360,

Why? Because he is right, exclusive games are better than exclusive content.

So by that logic he only has 1 bubble because of people who don't like the truth.

It seems more plausible to me that that God of War 2 is the HD remake version that is playable on the PS3 and downloadable from the Playstation Network. Although PS2 games would be great.

Also it almost looks like 3 slashes after the God of War, 2 clear and one slightly faded. But the logo above is from God of War 2.

I'm sorry to hear that Shane, but when it comes down to it not everything is for everyone.

It is unfortunate that you are in your situation and I wish you the best, but you have to remember that there are people who can play those types of games.

As long as there is a market, those types of games will be made to satisfy that market. Just like there are going to be plenty of controller only games because there is a large market for that as well.

I think "full power" is a bit misused by developers. Some say full power when they just have 100% of the CPU working on something, even if that task doesn't max out the CPU cores.

For instance, Uncharted 2 said they occupied 90% (I think) of the CPU with tasks at a constant rate. But I'm sure the whole time the cores aren't working to their full potential.

But in my opinion we are starting to hit that level that it is going to be reall...

I don't remember confirmation of the XBL Arcade version of that game, only the PSN version.

Care to share a link?

Meant surpassing Uncharted 2 in almost every way. Reading my comment now I can see it causing confusion, oh well, what's done is done.

But even if the PS4 was announced, I probably wouldn't get it first year anyway. I never purchased a console within it's first year, besides the PSP.

I like to see where the console is going, and where the competition is going.

Well given the fact that Naughty Dog (for example) are now using 100% of the CPU (PPE and SPE's) all the time I would say that a new console isn't too far off.

Sure we don't know exactly what percentage is being used on each core, but I'd assume it is a healthy amount since they are surpassing Uncharted 3 in almost every way. Sure there is always optimization which could lead to better results, but it seems Sony 1st party devs are reaching this "limit&qu...

Good one Buddy

@DarkCharizard

Just because Nintendo says INNOVATION in every sentence at every press conference does not mean they are innovating.

Motion Plus, err.... wasn't that called Sixaxis?

But ahhh, I know what you're thinking, Move, wasn't that called the Wii Mote? Difference is Sony made it BETTER. More precise and tracks in 3D space. As long as they improve, I don't consider it "copying"...

Agreed, God of War was a good one for me. They improved the engine to get it running at 60fps constant while keeping the art style from the originals.

The Splinter Cell collection though is looking to be the worse. Sure they upped the resolution to 1080p, but Digital Foundry said it just seems like upscalled sub HD. Not to mention the games can't hold 30fps.

I really like the switching back and forth between classic and HD though on the Halo remake.

More selection throughout the year equals less pre orders for me. There are quite a few games I've bought already for my PS3, so my usual Fall gaming budget is quite a bit smaller.

5285d ago 2 agree5 disagreeView comment

First of all, pre orders to not necessarily dictate sales.

BF3 may not pass 1 million pre orders, but it will more than likely sell a few million. Just like COD only gets a little over 1 million pre orders and goes on to sell 20 million.

Look at Uncharted 3, not even 200,000 pre orders and it's been shown for 2 years, had a beta, and was just shown off at Gamescom. But I'm willing to bet it sells around 5 million at least, given the series history. ...

I remember seeing a patent a while back by Sony that had the Eye reading emotions.

The possibilities seem interesting.

Haha, always the optimist.

I would say realist, but if you were a realist you would base that off claim off sales trends, and sales trends are telling a different story at the moment (Even prior to price drop).

5285d ago 15 agree0 disagreeView comment

It could very well do that. Halo has a very big following and the remake is shaping up well.

As a PS3 primary gamer, I haven't pre ordered many games this fall. Why? There are a good portion of exclusive titles mixed with great multiplatform games coming.

The main reason is my wallet is a bit empty after shelling out cash on exclusives all year long. And of course multiplatform titles like LA Noire and Portal 2. I've honestly bought more games th...

I was thinking the same thing.

"After years of lagging behind Nintendo and Microsoft in unit sales"

That is certainly news to me, every yearly report I've seen the past few years has had Sony in 2nd place as far as unit sales go. I guess they confused a 3rd place overall standing with bad sales.

Not to mention they are only in 3rd place by a very small margin. It isn't like they are 10 million units behind Microsoft.

I'm not sure, haven't seen many games that have different frames per second for single player and multiplayer.

But I remember reading that the 30fps will allow for more enemies to be on screen, or attacking, at a time in Doom 4. It is also going to allow more room for better graphics, post processing effects, AI complexity, etc...

Sort of like the Wii adding the extra 2 axis to their existing controllers with Motion Plus because they noticed Sony's built in Sixaxis?

I don't understand why everything has to be "they copied them". What I'm concerned about is who did it better? In my opinion, Move is superior to the Wii mote. Kinect is superior to the PS Eye, regardless of the fact that the Eye Toy did what Kinect is effectively doing now years ago.

Why? Because b...
