The game is far from unplayable. It tracks quite well and only gets better as you play since it is a Simulator.
Very one sided article, would have liked to see more on the Move side. Seemed as if the authors experience with Move was very limited.
I would argue that The Fight Lights Out, while slammed by reviewers, is definitely more than just "better Wii controls". It really hammers home the point of 1:1 motion.
I agree that games like FPS's that implement the tech isn't very innovative, but it is still fun. But games like Sports Champions and The ...
I thought those crawling monsters were in earlier Black Ops zombie maps? I'm thinking of the one with the stage.
Well you would be surprised that I know quite a bit about tessellation.
I don't know why you have to resort to trying to put me down. I was just pointing out your obvious lack to add anything remotely helpful to this thread by simply copy and pasting form the article, clearly picking out the segments where PC is superior, but blatantly ignoring Carmacks critiques of the PC as a platform.
I didn't post for someone who clearly doesn't know how to u...
Sure PC is more powerful, in many cases 10 times more powerful, but you only get 2 times the resolution, maybe 3. A few times more AA.
If PC were on par with ease of optimization, you would see Rage running at 10 times the resolution, etc...
But that still doesn't explain the disagrees on my comment, he just copy and pasted form the interview, adding nothing. Then I add a fact from the article, you essentially agree with it, but I'm wrong?
Why are you just quoting the article? Want to add a comment as well?
If your going for PC thing, also grab the line where he mentions PC's struggling to maintain 60fps compared to consoles due to their nature.
OT: Good read, I always like reading these interviews with game developers.
I'm sure they meant the PPE and all 7 SPE's, unless we are to assume the main core in the Cell is stronger than the 3 core CPU in the 360?
But of course we don't, because that would be wrong, which is why it is blatantly obvious that when using the word "core" they are referring to the PPE and SPE's.
True, I mean if it was possible I'm sure it would have been done by now.
They clearly listen to the gamers since it is going to be on the Vita, and more than likely the PS4. That to me is a good sign.
Your argument is sort of lame.
Think about it, complaining that the PS3 has mandatory installs but you have to swap discs? Why can't we just take it how it is and be done with it?
You like swapping discs because it shows more content is being included? How about I like installing games because it means they will run better? Not to mention I have a built in hard drive, as do all my fellow PS3 gamers. Not all 360 players have the luxury to install.
Your welcome everyone. I deserve 1/100,000th of the credit.
I'll take my bow now.........
In all seriousness, downloading mine now.
Doing away with Wi-Fi is certainly questionable. Especially with the PS Store on the PSP now.
But in all honesty I don't know many who have every truly used it other than to use the iffy web browser.
That is just my experience though, so I can't apply that to all.
Made a mistake, the Xbox RAM is shared, so at no point will all 512MB be used for video.
@kx11
Are you aware that the most high end graphics cards use between 1GB and 2GB of Video Ram? (up to 4GB's if you talking some AMD models for Eyefinity through 1 card or aftermarket cards)
Basically 2GB's of Video Ram, remember the purpose is important, should be plenty to run the next generation of consoles.
People just keep saying 8GB of Ram, 4GB of Ram, What kind of Ram? 2GB of video and 4GB of system should be plenty. Heck th...
I agree the RAM should have been increased, that would have been neat, but probably at a higher price.
But as far as the Vita having more RAM than the PS3, look at what the RAM is allocated to do.
512MB of Main Memory and 128MB of Video Memory. The PS3 has 256MB of Video Memory. So it technically does have more RAM when you consider the total, but Video Ram is more important, and in that category the Vita has less.
Also consider the Vita is...
I don't disagree with you Goodfella, because the total RAM is more than the current gen consoles, but you have to consider what the RAM is for.
People usually just look at the total instead of the usage. For instance, the Vita only has 128MB Video Ram, the rest is for Main Memory. So technically it has half the video RAM of the PS3 (256) and 1/4 the Video Ram of the 360 (512).
Now that should be plenty of RAM, as we've seen, to push out some amazing...
Not the world, but it is an indicator.
Don't see anyone here claiming Amazon is the world anyway.
Before jumping to conclusions just read the feature set.
From what I see, it can be used in Burnout type games, "bumping cars".
Flight simulators, or Warhawk type games "Maneuver cars and PLANES"
Motorstorm and Motorcycle games maybe, "Handlebar has twist grip for motorcycle throttle control"
Seems like it isn't just for Gran Turismo.
But on a GFLOP to GFLOP comparison for game programming sake, the GPLOP's on those "shitty" consoles is put to more use.
It's called optimization. Carmack talked about it at Quakecon, saying that even though PC's are more powerful they have to use brute processing power to run the game at adequate FPS, resolution, etc....
Why? Because PC gamers have a plethora of options and setups, so you can't optimize for every single one. If yo...
This may be taken a little out of context.
From what I've watched of his Quakecon key note speech and read in other interviews, Carmack is more than likely talking about the size of the entire original data source.
That would include the inevitable Mega-Textures that take up an obscene amount of space. The fact of the matter is, that data is not necessary, as we see with Rage, enough to be on the disc.
Not everything is included on the d...
@Cmenz
I think I might know the problem, if you move your feet, you simply get into your guard position and press the O button.
But the game DOES NOT follow pre determined motions, it follows YOUR motions. I used to think otherwise until I played it.
@Machioto
Thank you, CMenz, look at the video Machioto provided. While the game has it's flaws it clearly tracks your motions as you do them.
