Won't happen.

Framerate drops and screen tear will always be a part of console gaming, especially towards the end of the generation. Because the developers have to keep pushing for better graphics otherwise they risk being out-marketed, so they push the system beyond what it can process with ideal performance. I would expect 30fps to remain the general standard.

Load times will go up too (because the game data per scene/level will always go up), until SSD...

The handles and 'triggers' are my problem with the dualshock. The overall feel and shape of the 360 controller is nearly perfect, the analogue stick location doesn't bother me for either controller. The convex analogue stick shape is something that Microsoft should do too though, it helps a lot when gaming on a high sensitivity. Though most people just play games on the silly default settings where it takes about 15 seconds to turn 180 degrees >_<. And yeah, the 360 d-pad is...

I have cashed out more for my 360 gaming setup + games + accessories than my PC gaming setup + games + accessories, and used my 360 for considerably less time (and have far less games).

Don't be an idiot, and actually look at the ways the console gaming giants are ripping you off (Sony aren't too bad).

You can get an amazing PC these days for £500 that will max out crysis, the price of the graphics card is the only difference between the cost of ...

I've played the major console exclusives (ie, the reasons people buy the console) like Halo, Gears, MGS4, Infamous, GoW, Uncharted etc. All decent or amazing games, but theres so few of them at such high quality this generation with the third party developers mostly going multiplat.

If you think about PC exclusives, there are a lot more small budget games that are in no way badly made or shoddy, and you generally get a lot more enjoyment for the price. Console development...

if you are wondering "do I have a good enough PC to play a game"

its because you havnt tried PC gaming since 2003 or something or you are expecting your laptop to be capable of gaming.

since 2007, a standard pc (ie, with a reasonable 512MB graphics card and dual core cpu) will run any game released to this date.

fluffydelusions makes a good point, the best platform for an individual is the platform which their friends buy their game...

tbh, I just choose the class with the most effective firepower and make all my enemies wait to respawn while I complete the objective.

The teamplay is just engineered over the top because some designer thinks it adds to the game somehow, then they have to think of ways to balance classes because their own existance is inherantly flawed.

And by get rid of classes, I meant only have custom classes... so the whole concept of "classes" dissapears, obvio...

tf2 is junk as far as shooters go. The gunplay feels drab and the levels are restrictive to (shooting) gameplay. It is however a very well engineered game from an artistic point of view - but that is about it.

I would much rather play a shooter that actually has decent feeling weapons, you know... so that the shooting is actually where the game lies.

true, but the only reason they are bad for gaming is because they lack proper tactile buttons - everything else they excell at.

also: "You can't simply look at the processor and GPU specs of these things, and disregard things like gaming controls, or the fact that those devices have monstrously expensive OSes, and their primary dev environments use *Java*, which has been demonstrated, by many, many professionals, to run game code at approximately 2-3% the speed of co...

lol what, how delusional is this Dennis Durkin idiot? Sure, M$ will make plenty of cash from their kinect and "new entertainment experiences" - but that has nothing to do with the GAMES that the GAMES CONSOLE was designed for and bought for... 3DS and Vita will make massive profits, by "very crowded" - he means that the market is too crowded by Nintendo and Sony for M$ to be able to enter it.
