A list of rehashes and remakes... Not bad games at all, but where are the new IPs? The 360 can't survive forever without any new IP, it feels like the 360 has been stuck in Groundhog Day mode but it goes year-by-year.
Last gen we were getting amazing new IPs at this depth into the consoles' lifespans.
True, but the only one of those games I would get on 360 is halo. I don't like Gears that much anymore and the rest I would get on PC. If I only owned a 360 I guess there would be enough games there, but it would be the worst year in gaming for me ever - 3 sequels that are the same thing with tweaks, one remake and one well-adapted game - not a single new game to surprise me... they are all established IPs.
They shouldn't, it's a decent piece of tech (apart from the input lag).
What they should apologise for (and they will after the loss in sales) is their lack of any decent games anymore. Oh, also they should be apologising to anybody who bought a Kinect :P But anybody with a brain obviously didn't buy one so nobody needs an apology.
I think I remember hearing that BC2 sold more on PC than the 360 or PS3 and I also remember hearing that it had a lot more concurrent players, and that was a pile of junk console port on PC yet it was still given a chance. BF3 seems to be a proper PC game, or at least they are marketing it that way, so I would expect even bigger PC sales this time.
But if there is one thing that I can predict for sure, it is that BF3 will have more PC players 3 months after launch than 360 an...
i3 cpu and a 5850 or 6850 ati graphics card. 4GB of ddr3 ram is plenty. Focus most of the budget on the graphics card - but a dual core cpu could struggle a tiny bit in some new games.
you should stretch your budget to $550 or something though.

Alienware suck, don't give them your money - ever. They are why people think PC gaming is expensive.
But anyway... PS3 could have 64 players if supported dedis. Hopefully next gen M$ and Sony will allow all 3rd party devs to support dedis, which is the only way to get player numbers that large on a full scale game.
If your PC is worse than others, lower the graphics settings so you have higher fps.....
I doubt there will be much of a difference between PS3 and 360 versions, probably dedicated servers.
Maby they mean it could support dedicated servers on PS3, which is highly possible and particularly worth mentioning like this because we know M$ have something against them so they won't be available on the 360 version.
Other than that, the only way they could be very similar is if they consolise the PC version loads (like BC2 amounts).

yes, but it has to be done on a different device than the GPU - otherwise it is trying to use the gpu resources which are already maxed out so it causes a lower frame rate or stuttering. The reason it works well on the PS3 is because there is plenty of spare CPU resources, especially for floating point calculations (the types used intensively in graphics) so the image can be Anti Aliased while the gpu starts working on the next frame.

I hate TF2 and L4D2, which seems to confuse a lot of people (fanboys).
To be honest, they are amazingly well made games, but the gunplay is total arse and that completely breaks any SHOOTER for me.
I also despise Farcry 2 and Crysis for the same reasons.
I don't think Mass Effect (or any bioware rpg) is anywhere as good as people seem to think.
If they can fit the final build on a DVD, it will be multi-plat. They have shareholders you know, all they want is money.
