"popularizing the cover mechanic"
What was wrong with ducking and moving? I don't want games to play themselves for me.
Cover mechanics are the biggest fail ever introduced into any game ever.
Every unreal engine game? They all use the 360 in the exact same way. That's Bioshock, Mass effect and loads of other games.
It has raised no bar whatsoever, that is standard unreal engine graphics. Also, that video is really crappy quality even at 720p, it masks the jaggies and gritty texture appearence which would be extremely obvious rendered in realtime on your TV/monitor. I'm not saying it doesn't look good - nearly every game this gen looks "good", but how has it raised a bar?
And would people stfu about colours. Having more colours doesn't mean they have to work harder ...
No, I have access to one but it's communal. So I can't take control of it for hours on end to play a proper game, it's constantly in use for brawl or mario kart. And I can't really justify buying one for myself.
Oooh... I have been waiting for a decent console rpg.
Last one was er... lost odyssey. Wii aside.
fpm?
Also films were only 24 fps before HD.
Anyway, with games: lower fps = worse input lag.

downrate bad articles please
no its impossible, unless its usb - but that would be way too slow, it would be kind of like the thing that win vista/7 can do with memory pens.
It's faster than the HDD, but nowhere near as fast as actual RAM (ie, it can't be used in realtime stuff like AI, rendering, resource caching)
the ps3 is designed to take the heat it produces, infact - way more.
nice of them to not provide any photos without the ps3 greyed out...
they also made the memory leaks bigger and made the ambient occlusion far too exaggerated.
Sky dimensions? That's the only kind of map my minecraft has been generating since 1.6 :(
Then after about 20 minutes I get teleported to what seems like "deep underground" and can see the inside of caves, I can't move anywhere or edit any blocks either - restart the game and it's back to "normal" again.
Lost Odyssey was incredible. The only good final fantasy since 10. Obviously, had it been a PS3 game then it would have been far better received in Japan. The fact that they also gave the option for Japanese voiceovers on the EU/NA versions proves that they appreciate their fanbase.
JRPGS in general have been bad for a while, imho. And TW2 is the only good recent WRPG. If Skyrim isn't a console port then it'll be the next decent one. Still... I want another good JRPG....
Do they explain the lack of the game even being remotely decent?
There's a few problems:
You don't get to see an overview of the course when tweaking your car, so you have to know the track first to be able to make the correct decision. Considering it is nearly a sim, that is a big mistake.
The things you have to touch in the gymkahna levels get stuck infront of the car and you can't see where you are going >_<, so you are forced to change the camera angle.
Otherwise, fantastic game :P

@Zootang
CoD runs at 60 fps (BSP based coridoor shooter type engine). Also, if they were taking into acount it's graphics on the PC it could be boosted up a bit, but 10/10 wouldn't make sense because plenty of games look much better on PC.
Anyway, on topic:
I don't understand how other people don't find infamous repetitive, is it just me? Everying aside from the repetitiveness and the loud footsteps is great though.
Far too repetitive and the footsteps are too loud.
Otherwise, it looks looks great.
Same.
But telling me to take a break... that would be a annoying.
"Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Dragon Age"
Mass Effect < KOTOR
Oblivion < Morrowind
Those games are nothing compared to older gens' rpgs and plenty of other rpgs on the current gen. The author just jumps on the most popular rpgs on the consoles and says they are "really captivating". No wonder he was so impressed by TW2.
To me, TW2 is good because it is something different - it isn't a WRPG or a ...
