I'm not following you. If you are saying that the Sixaxis allows for an added element of immersion with a game without having to purchase something additional, I see your point.
This wheel is for realistic immersion - similar to the guitar for...those guitar games or the dance pad for DDR - you actually dance.
I'm sure Sony will create/license a wheel for GT on the PS3 the way they did with Logitec on the PS2.
So, while I see your point, comparing the sixaxis ...
I bought my TV about 4 years ago - a CRT 1080i - I never imagined it would be obsolete so quickly. Thank you, MS, that 720P get upscaled to 1080i on the 360. I guess one comapny was taking into consideration that not everyone has a brand spanking new TV!
Last year the Sony fanboys dogged the 360's launch lineup and said how great the PS3's was going to be. Well, now they are back tracking and saying "Hey, this is what we expect from launch games." - This statement is actually true, but Sony fanboys just need to eat their crow and be quiet.
Analysts said it was the "independents" who decided the recent elections - not Dems or Reps.
in the same way, it will be the casual gamers - not us - who decide the console war.
At the school I work at, I'm the resident "gaming expert". Many teachers have asked me about the PS3. When I tell them the price, their jaws drop. They say the 360 is too expensive also. These kids will be getting PS2s for Christmas.
Everytime there are articles about a system's performance, there is someone saying how it was done wrong. Are there computer schools teaching lies to their students?
Look, I am NOT technical, but what I get from this article is what we've heard all along about performance comparisons - its a wash for all practical purposes.
I just don't understand how so many trained people could have different figures. Maybe I'm just ignorant to the art of computer programming. Maybe...
The Japanese love them some gadgets, so it could be the bragging rights/prestige thing to just own a PS3.
Other than that, it makes little sense. $660 minimum to only play Ridge Racer? Unless there are other big titles coming out in the near future - BEFORE system inventories are to be replenished, then it makes little sense to lay out that kind of cash for the system.
Should like this game as well. Their target is certainly realistic, if not conservative - assuming the final game lives up to what we've seen on the demo.
And I had some connection issues. But since they are releasing a patch, the problem must be beyond just the wireless.
My launch 360 still works perfectly. And I have the 2 year warranty just in case.
I wonder how RFOM will do in Japan since the Japanese are not fans of FPS. Hopefully they will give it a try and like it - and some Japanses developers will create some original and innovative IPs that will come to the west.
This helps my wallet for the winter - and guarantees a great game to play this summer.
I think you have a valid point. Gears doesn't try to be anything but what it is. And in that it succeeds.
We can't blame a company for a lack of originality when we, as consumers, flock to products are not original. Gamers' dollars send the message to developers: "We want to shoot stuff!" Bottom line.
BTW, I love Oblivion too...my wallet is cursed for the fact that I like many genres of games...
If MP is as good as the SP, it will secure the game as a must-own for me.
And I think the Wii has a system seller in Zelda:TP.
Great news! Thanks. It only made sense, given the success of LIVE, but it also would make sense for Sony to try to secure it as a sequel to bolster/promote its own online service.
(which I own and love.)
Sony's not dumb. They know that FPS are big in America. They've come out with a solid exclusive FPS for the PS3's launch. I say well done and good start. I look forward to playing this game about 2 years from now after the PS3 has dropped in price, and the game is a "greatest hits".
One thought, however, what happens if Sony loyals finally get a taste of a good FPS and realize the 360 is very strong in that genre? If UT2007 is ind...
I'm a funny guy!
Kansas City is a great place to live, but we don't get it until tomorrow...just called Gamestop. So to those of you who will get it - play...play for me (reference from Tombstone - Doc's last words to Wyatt Earp - Val Kilmer to Kurt Russell.
I'd reserved this game for the 'cube. I'm gonna cancel and get a Wii.
If there was a good FPS with dual analogs, I would purchase a PSP. Until then, my handheld love will have to live with turn-based strategy on the DS Lite.
