I don't own both systems - yet.

But when you compare the combined price of the consoles to high end PC - it is still less. I'm certainly not against PC gaming - I'm just offering some perspective of price.

And real gamers just appreciate great games. I'll never play Crysis unless it is offered on a console or perhaps many years from now whenever I buy a new computer that happens to be able to run it, but i still follow the game because it is good for our hobby....

Epic is going to announce this new IP and everyone is going to say its better than Gears...

Then they will show Gears 2 - which will make everyone to question everything again and back and forth it goes.

Epic will be laughing all the way to the bank as they constantly try to out do themselves, and gamers will be very happy.

Sony blew everyone's socks off with new IPs, and announcements about timed exclusives showing us that the games are coming!

MS showed us that this fall is going to be AMAZING for 360 owners...

Nintendo...well, still hasn't convinced me to get a Wii.

If it truly has a 10 year life, then there is no hurry, and I can wait for a version with the features I want and a price I'm willing to pay. Maybe it will shrink eventually...

I waited for a slimline PS2 and am very happy with it - the little thing is just plain sexy as is my DS Lite.

Its not Forza/GT, but its far from Burnout. In PGR, the different engine and drive wheel layouts feel different - and similar to their counterparts in Forza and GT.

There isn't all the tweaking of Forza, which can make it more accessible for those who JUST want to race. In Forza, tweaking gear ratios and downforce can be necessary for victory.

My point is that each of these games have their niche - and are not trying to be or necessarily beat the other. It's ...

I own a 360, and love Gears...

I will be getting a PS3 eventually; I'm itching to get one, and I'm glad to see the competition regarding FPS games. Look how MS has stepped up their game this gen with RPGs - and how Sony has stepped up their game with FPS this gen.

I get excited when I see a must-play game on a system I do not yet own.
It means that the hobby I love is doing well, and that competition is strong and the other company has to respond. Beside...

I want a PS3 - I really do. Nothing against my 360 - I just want to play ALL the best games.

Once Sony finally settles on a price, I will get one. $499 worked for me, but they will be sold out before I can get one at that price.

With the PS3 you obviously get it sooner and get user-created maps - which is huge.

With the 360 you get guaranteed good FPS control(PS3 version may be good too, but 360 is proven), and LIVE community - which is known for FPS competition - this game will have a LONG life on LIVE - as long as Halo 3 I'd imagine.

And, Epic may do something special with the 360 version since they have extra time - like how the PC version of Gears is getting more maps and two extra s...

They both look great!

Sorry - I just don't see the use of comparing them. If you want to compare, then compare Halo 2 vs. Halo 3 and Killzone vs. Killzone 2.

Owners of each system get to enjoy a great FPS, and owners of both systems get to enjoy both - isn't that enough? Don't you want your fellow gamers to enjoy great games - regardless of platform?

its like they broke away for the winning touchdown and fumbled on the one yard line...

Don't get me wrong - their E3 was great, and had me so excited about where Sony is headed. Nothing has been ruined, just some wind has been taken out of its sails...

Here's a physically attractive girl who is working on a great new IP, and she seems really cool to boot. These things add to her attractiveness.

Plus it is hope that gaming is not just for nerds - that actual pretty girls might be interested in it too. I'm married to a very pretty girl who doesn't mind me gaming and joins me from time to time, so they are out there.

But just like Tiger Woods made golf more "cool", Jade is someone who can send the sa...

I forgot about it until noon the next day, and you know what?

It STILL works perfectly, and I play practically every day.

You make good points. I was just throwing out the thought for discussion because I'd noticed my tastes changing - but that doesn't mean everyone's will!

And just because my tastes are changing does not mean they are becoming more sophistocated or mature...quite possibly the opposite!
It's all about fun, right?

Peace!

That's all. It just looks fishy. Confusion ruins customer confidence - just like MS flailing everywhere about the RROD.

MS and Sony apparantly think the gaming public isn't paying too close attention.

He said that at this point in the development process - a few months before release, they are further(closer to completion) than they were compared to a few months before Gears release.

He means that they will be done sooner, or have more time for final polish. He is saying NOTHING about the quality of Gears compared to UT3.

Watch it and see if I'm wrong.

I'm sure this game is going to rock on the PS3, but the title of this article misrepresents...

And, Jade, in addition to being pretty, seems pretty cool and down to earth from what I've seen in interviews.

There's a lucky guy out there somewhere...

It doesn't. Its word play, people. He does not specifically mention what the "posts related to the 60G model" are, nor does he deny their exact contents with a counter statement.

C'mon, you guys are smarter than this!

Read it carefully. It simply says that there are currently 2 products being offered - come August. "Foreseeable future"? Ambiguous.

He needs to state explicitly: "There are NO plans to phase out the 60G model in the US. We have decided to return to a 2 sku marketing model in the US because it allows us to more quickly reach the mass market price point while still offering a system to technophiles. And while we are constantly evaluating ways to offer our custo...

"I just wanted to clarify something. I’ve seen a lot of posts this morning related to the 60GB SKU and the comments by SCEE President David Reeves. As we announced this week, SCEA’s product offering in North America consists of a 80GB PS3 available in August and a 60GB PS3 available now for $499. We will have ample supplies of both models to meet the needs of consumers for the foreseeable future."

This simply states that CURRENTLY 2 models are offered and that they ha...
