but MS has shown that it can do "REAL-TIME CONSOLE CHANGES"...I kid, I kid....
Besides, if we go by the 20 or so articles on this site about the PS3 flying off of Amazons's shelves, the price drop has boosted sales.
And since MGS4 is not expected until next Spring and there are some really good PS3 games coming out before then, everything should be fine. I guess they have to plan, and make the decsion early enough so if they do port it, it comes out within their timeframe. Who knows?
All I know is I will play this game - whether it eventi...
I mean, this is kinda stating the obvious...LIVE is huge, the PS3 has a huge percentage of owners going online from what I've read...its become standard practice for me to check my friends list every time I go on, just to see who's on and what they are playing...
Certain games like GRAW 2 and R6:Vegas I have played a ton online versus and co-op and barely scratched single player - GRAW 2 I haven't even started the campaign.
I only see this as a positive for gamers because as we share and argue, and express our opinion, we are holding developers more accountable to putting out good games.
It used to be that a poor review didn't show up until the magazines shipped weeks after release. Now we know the very day of release, sometimes before - or at the worst a day or two after release.
And more valuable than reviews is peer opinions...on these forums about a game. Gamers unite!!!
My only request for the new game.
For the doubters, Gears gave me more of a sense of being in an intense "Battle" than ANY other game - more so than Halo and COD(both of which I also love)You HAVE to use cover.
Yes, Gears is pretty, but what is real special is the mood it creates - so the artistic vision. Kind of like RE4 - great grapics for last gen, but what made it a classic is the mood created.
Anyway, never mind me, I'm just having ...
Isn't the Falcon just the name used to designate the new innards of 360s - not a new sku?
I'm confused...need more coffee...
based on one screenshot. Geez, people. Give it a rest.
It's a good looking screen shot - NOTHING more! Period!
The game could redefine the FPS genre, or it could be a pretty package of recycled junk...where exactly this game falls on this continuum CANNOT be discerned from this screen shot!
I could get one, but then I'd have to pass on Bioshock, Halo 3, GTAIV, COD4, Mercs 2, HL:Orange Box and a few other titles I want for my 360. Even at $499, its still expensive after I add a headset and component cables, plus at least two games and then tax...
So, I'm just going to start putting some of my video game budget every month toward a PS3. I'm patient - its barely taken off, and it will have even longer legs than the PS2. So I might not get to play Lair until 18 mon...
Its about perceived value. This makes it the same price I paid for my 360 - $399 plus $99 for the wireless adapter...plus it comes with a Blu-Ray player. I love my 360 - and plan on getting buying an average of 1.5 games per month for the rest of the year for my 360, but I also really want a PS3 eventually.
I'm excited about the price drop because it means I'll get one sooner rather than later.
I'm also very interested to see how MS responds. I've been sayin...
And accurate. LOL - you start with innocent Mario and end up fragging demons in DOOM!!!
To Master: I see your point. Take Crysis for example. Right now it is PC only - HARDCORE PC. It is a relatively small audience that will have a system to even play it let alone max its potential.
There must be profit...Developers must gauge the earning potential vs. development and marketing costs and believe the expected profit to be worth while.
I've read ...
A greater percentage of PS3 owners have pre-ordered GTAIV...which doesn't surprise me since the GTA games were one of the major factors that launched the PS2 into the stratosphere...
I'd be willing to bet that many of the PS3 owners who pre-ordered are unaware of the 360's "extra downloadabnle content" or that the 360 version comes out the same day as the PS3 version. - These facts have NOT been marketed well to the public, so the general non-hardcore gamer is unaware...
The article is absolutely true. Non-gamers are not picky like we are. They buy a game based on the cover art, and they don't really know if it sucks because they have not developed sophistocated taste.
For example. Those of us who downloaded the Hour of Victory demo got a taste of a very poor game - it stunk. But your average person on the street would not notice a difference between it and Call of Duty 2 - a great WWII game.
Sometimes I think us more hardcor...
So hopefully some of the people who have had multiple consoles (my bro-in-law) fail will not have to go through the hassle...
I've been fortunate since my LAUNCH 360 still works flawlessly...
and the consoles Halo 3 will sell...Poor business decision.
I've learned to be patient, so I'm gonna wait for the $399 price point and at least 5 must-play games - they're coming, they just haven't been released yet. I'm thinking by Christmas '08...
I doubt we'll see a 360 price drop this side of Halo 3. Period. For GTA fans, a 360 is still $100 less to play that game. You guys must remember that a significant percentage of PS2 owners played little for than GTA and Madden(where online play was available 2 years before the XBOX.)

and no problems...EVER.
Fatherhood is wonderful. A word of advice - learn to game when everyone is asleep. My wife is fine with me playing videogames because I never let in impede on family time or time with her.
Anyway, enjoy your son and take plenty of pictures and video - they change so fast! - Mine are 2 1/2 years(boy) and 9 months(girl).
Sometimes people perceive a cheap price with a less quality product -
though Nintendo is able to pull it of because they have a reputation for making a solid tank of a console...
Now is not the time to be conservative. Sony and MS will continue to aggressively fight for our gaming dollar. When you go into defense mode, you lose!
I've never had ANY console fail on me - including my LAUNCH 360 and Thompson Drive XBOX - both which were supposedly "BAD".
My Sony and Nintendo products have worked flawlessly also. Though each controller is different, each feels "right" when I'm playing it.
Anyway, I bought a 2 year extended warranty for my 360, but have not had to use it - so I guess I'm covered for another 6 months on any issue and for the next 18 months with the RRD.
...
Here in Kansas City, I've recently seen floor stock of about 5-12 PS3 systems.
I always check it out just out of curiosity...
And, for the record, about the same amount of 360s - sometimes less and I've only seen a Wii on a store shelf twice - ever!
