If you can't acknowledge that each system does certain things well and that each has must-play games, then you are an unreasonable fool and not worth engaging in a discussion.
Anyone who wants a console to fail is a fool. It would be terrible for the industry because developers would stop making games for the remaining console because it would appear that console gaming was dying, and they would likely shift resources to handheld games.
Call me crazy, but I love fighting dinos - I even liked the last Turok - GASP!!! SHH!!! Don't tell anyone!
A game like Area 51 - I'll wait for it to drop to $29.99 - even if if gets really good reviews, but Turok, with dinos, will have to be either EXTREMELY short or fundamentally broken(like we've been reading about Hour of Victory) for me to not get it release day.
My oldest is only 2 1/2, so I have a bit before he'll be able to play anything, though he loves watching Daddy play any racing game - "Boom Car" he calls it.
My wife and I are working through X-Men Legends 2 on co-op, since FPS controls are too difficult. She is actually interested in the Wii - as is my buddy's wife - because of the ease of control and kid-friendly games.
Heck, the Wii may be the Trojan horse that makes gaming a legitimate way of spend...
Wahoo!
August = BioShock
September =, uh, I for got the name...oh yeah! Halo 3!
October = GTA4
November = Assassion's Creed
Not to mention COD4, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Turok, Area 51, HL:Orange Box...I could go on and on
If it lives up to the hype, that is...
Ocarina was the first game to combine RPG/Action with a 3-D world to explore - and horseback riding! It was never boring - varied environments/enemies, great combat and puzzles. I've played through Ocarina more times than any other game - five.
Yes there are games that have better combat, or larger worlds, but Ocarina does everything very well.
Good to see RE4 up there too - an absolutely brilliant game.
We can get on a slippery slope of what someone considers "offensive".
This example in the article is pretty simply and obvious, but remember, people have complained about things like calling it "Christmas Vacation" and have fought to have it changed to "Holiday Vacation" because they were "offended".
Sound ridiculous? Well, people can be ridiculous!
and its BC on my 360. I used to be addicted to these games, but now I play pretty rarely, so I at least have a great skating game when I get the urge. Kinda like Madden for me - I don't need a new one every year - just one game in my library for when fall rolls around, and I feel like playing football.
Makes me want to break out RE4 for the ol' Cube! Love the game! Simply loooove it!
Oh, and here's the thing - the PS3 is actually a great system and is going to do fantastic in the market in the following years - Believe it!
Now if you'll excuse me, I've just finished downloading the Black Edition Maps for Vegas on my 360(which is and will do great also, and its time to work on becoming a Master Sarge!
Oh, one more thing - the Wii is here to stay...
I think with the lineup of games coming down the pipe, Sony will stay in the mix. Whenever the price of components falls, and they can legitimately afford to cut the price, sales will really pick up.
If they were left in the dust, they'd have reason to be concerned. This holiday should be a good indicator of where they stand.
Personally, I'm waiting until its $399, but I have the benefit of something called "patience" - and not needing to have eve...
And all liberal democrats are Communists...Give me a break. The outer fringes of both the right and the left are where the freaks live. For the rest of us, there can be heated, but respectful, debate. Sorry for the rant...
There's a solution to this...DON'T BID ON THESE CARS!!!!! Then the losers who make them can enjoy them alone in the privacy of their own homes, which is their right to do, and the rest of us won't have to look at it.
it just doesn't make sense since you'd be missing out on a HUGE 360 audience who have proven loyal supporters of the shooter genre.
If it was a platformer or a RPG, I could see it, but a FPS? I'm not buying it.
Unless it is fundamentally broken regarding controls or something. It lokks right up my alley. Though, I have many alleys - I like a lot of genres!
Beat the first game - it was decent. Passed on the second. I guess it just got repetitive after awhile, though I remember reading in the reviews for the second game that the mossions were more varied than the first game.
Sometimes a game comes out that I want to play, but its not worth full retail, so I wait for a price drop, but when that finally happens, I've lost interest altogther.
but I wonder if the general public is aware of this. Us forum patrollers and gaming-mag-subscriber geeks are in the vast minority.
It will be on both MS and Sony to market to the general public the advantages of owning the game on their system...
I want the console exclusives to decide the strength of a console, but sometimes a multi-platform title may influence a person't decision to purchase.
For example, I wonder if the extra GTA4 content will sway holiday console buyers...who knows. I know I'm glad I have the 360 version of Oblivion because I was able to get the extra content immediately.
practically everyone who owns it says its a lot of fun - and funny.
I'll be getting it eventually when the price drops. I just want to make sure I have enough saved for all the AAA games this fall.
I've really been getting into R6 Vegas on the 360, and in the player matches, I always find cool people and have fun. I've never played ranked.
I even found cool people in the Halo 3 beta - here's hopin'!
These are incredible epic strategy games.
And since it is turn-based, you don't have to worry about clunky controls hurting you the way you might in a RTS.
This made my day! You see my computer can no longer the more recent PC Civ games...
You guys remember - supposedly there was a delay with the 360 version because of the whole user-created-content issue.
I've been hoping it wasn't true since I have a 360 and have not yet bought my PS3...
