When LIVE is still acting up? It takes forever to load the dashboard - if it comes up at all...

Most RPGs take a bit to figure out - FF skill trees for example, and take a few hours to get hooked into the story, but this guy's review in inexcuable - because he's supposed to be a professional.

Since I am a husband, father, and professional, I don't get tons of time to game. - 10 hours a week average. That means a game like Mass Effect will last me 4 weeks if that is ALL I play - but its not - my weekends are LIVE time.

I have plenty of unfinished games that are considered "great" in my library. I'm talking Zelda:TP, FFXII, GRAW2.

This year - I'm gonna save my money for a new LCD 1080p HDTV and only buy a few games that I will actually have ...

Cod4, Halo 3, Vegas - tried them all. A lot of people online were having problems from what I heard in the lobbies of games.

On Saturday night, I just gave up and played Mass Effect - so its not like I really had to "suffer".

I guess for those who only play MP on LIVE, it really sucks.

Only buy a few games this year and save the rest for an LCD 1080p HDTV next Christmas.(And complete some of the games in my library that are unfinished - I'm looking at you FFXII!

Its carry over from last gen - if you want to play shooters - you get a 360 - simple as that. If you want RPGs, you get a PS2/3. Yes, each has games in all genres, but you get my point. In time, each will catch up to some degree in these genres where they are perceived as "lacking".

I think Drakes was an issue of marketing. I was confused about what type of game it was - shooter? action? adventure? Turns out its all three! New IPs are risky - and $60 is a lot for ...

Last night I was able to play COD4 for a few hours, but my friend and I couldn't stay in the same party - one of us would always get booted.

What was strange was that it was affecting single player mode - until I disconnected my wireless antenna, that is.

but there is lots of lag - and he got booted off a few times. I can't get on yet...guess I'll be playing Mass Effect tonight.

I agree the graphics are not COD4 good, and the framerate was neither great or terrible, but if you are a fantasy buff, it is unlike any game ever available for the 360. The environments and levels are interesting - and using the rope bow is a really cool idea.

Imagine the combat you wanted in Oblivion. - Kicking a guy backwards then hitting him while he's stunned is great.

Make no mistake - this is a FPS - but with swords/spells/bows and arrows. It is linear. ...

Yes, this is primarity a SP game - so AI won't matter, but the control was atrocious - and this matters in MP. - And usually the graphics are toned down in MP so it runs better - this game could well look like a Gen 1 XBOX game - but not as good as Halo looked.

Sad, the game has a great premise and had potential.

Finally got to try it - at a kiosk ay Best Buy - Mario Galaxy. It did nothing for me except confirm that I will very likely pass on a Nintendo console this generation.

I meant to justify ME buying a PS3 given that I have a family, mortgage, very busy schedule etc. (Guess I should have spelled it out since any statement made it viewed as coming from a fanboy from one side or the other.)

I was in no way insulting your precious console - I want one very badly - but I'm willing to wait a bit longer. Is that a crime?

By then, there will be enough exclusive must-own titles to justify a purchase - FFXIII, MGS...

My friends love us some online co-op, and if a quality game has it - well, we'll ALL buy it - even if it is a genre of us isn't really interested in.

For example, my bro-in-law primarily plays realistic tactical shooters - Clancy games, but he picked up Gears and Halo 3 for the online co-op.

I'm loving COD4 - don't get me wrong, but I miss the huge battles from COD3 - the ones with 5 points to capture.

At the end of the four years, I get all the new consoles, a top gaming PC, and the ability to play the games I missed during the 4 years.

I've gone out solo the last few years - and got some good deals - but last year I pulled up to Circuit City to get Quake 4 for $14.99 on the 360.

I was there 2 hours before opening, and I was literally 1/4 mile from the door when I took my place in line. I got the game, but it took about 2 hours of standing in line until checkout.

I never finished the game - wasn't impressed - so I traded it and got back what I paid for it.

Bottom line - it will...

"...and character models all combine to make you say 'Whoa', a word you'll constantly repeat over the campaign's 10-hour-or-so duration."

THAT, my friends, is what the mag says in the COD4 review on page 38 of the December - issue #77.

I played Halo 3 Tuesday night - no problems.

The next day I put in Burnout(my son likes to watch the cars crash), and it locked up twice. It has never done this before.

Halo 3 worked great later that evening, and all's good now...

I have a launch 360 BTW...
