The BF demo is great, but I love UnReal too - don't have money for both.
It all depends on the communities these games attract. It seems BF will sell well and have longevity. Nothing worse than buying an online game only to have it die on LIVE within two months...like I've read the PS3 version of UTIII did.
Anyone know? I'm waiting for this before I buy a PS3.
It's about FUN!!! I don't have the time or the musical talent to learn to play the guitar as well as a professional. - So what is wrong with playing a game that lets me live out a fun harmless fantasy of being a rock star? Its just like the fantasy of driving a Ferrari or winning the Super Bowl, or being the dragon-slaying prince - or being a Jedi.
This is what videogames do. - It lets people live out the stories and dreams they imagined as a kid - or still imagine as an adult...
Because the 360 I always thought (based on media reports) appealed more to an older demographic.
Haze was a big disappointment, the Splinter Cell franchise is in trouble with delays, Vegas 2 is good, but nothing new, and I'm skeptical about the new Prince of Persia and other tom Clancy titles...
Last gen everything they created was golden, now things are different.
Before GTA4 released, if someone mentioned Saints Row, they were criticized for liking a "clone" that was "pathetic".
Now, everyone is hating on GTA4...I don't get it.
The media creates hype, then we blast a game for not living up to what SOMEONE ELSE said it would be?
The game delivered on Rockstar's claims. In that sense, it was not over-hyped.
Regarding SR2 - looks like an absolute blast! But how many will cri...
At the Xbox.com forums. I'm at work so I'll have to wait until tonight.
I am hearing that it's better than the beta.
There is extra gameplay content - characters/levels/weapons - then I'll consider it.
It's not about integrity or being a hypocrite, its about getting your attention - because getting your attention means hits on their web site - which they can show ADVERTISERS!!
I thought you all were smart enough to know that!
If I have my domain set at "recreation", I don't want to be in a match with a bunch of "underground" guys with their language.
I can't count the number of times I went to leave negative feedback and discovered the guy is underground. Then I realize - it's not his fault! He's being true to his domain! He has a right to be profane if he has labled himself as "underground", just as I have a right to not hear the profanity if I've labled myself as &...
A game that stands above other great games of the generation...now excuse me while I get back to looking for stuff to pawn so I can get my PS3 sooner than I originally planned...
Give me a break. Here's what he should have said: "As gaming becomes more mainstream and more a more attractive potential investment, there will be an increase in shovel-ware - for ALL consoles. A savvy consumer must learn to sift though the junk to find the diamonds that exist - and there are diamonds already this gen - on ALL consoles."
Or, put more simply: "If you don't buy crap, they will make much less of it!"
either way, I'm excited about it. - If its done right.
looks like a solid rental. More shooting zombie/demons...its not "Bioshock" from what I've read. Yeah, there's the "dismemberment" and the no or low gravity areas, but...YAWN...its nothing more than a twist on Doom.
Look, I don't have any original ideas, but then again, I don't get paid to develop games. I'm just to the point where I'd rather re-play a great game from my collection than pay $60 to play a re-tread idea.
Here's a quote to sh...
but this game is looking promising. As long as the story is decent, the controls/camera are tight and there is variety as far as monsters/environments and items, all will be good.
And reading previews says this is so.
for a franchise like Quake - with its heritage...I wonder what's up with Id.
I was expecting reviews to say that it was a niche game for clans due to its focus on team-play, but it being an altogther poor game? Wow.
Oh well, mark off another game as a "Don't buy OR Rent" on my list!...Maybe I will have money for the holiday blockbusters after-all!
"What do I feel like doing now?" - I LOVE that because it gives me a sense of freedom - that I don't HAVE to pursue the next thing.
Sometimes it's fun to just explore and ignore formal quests. We've all had the experience of inadvertanly solving a quest because we cleared out some cave we happened upon and found some quest item.
Everything I've heard about the beta has been pretty negative - I didn't play it, but the news was disappointing...Frontlines wasn't impressive...I wonder what we have to do to get a good Big team Battle type game.
I have a copy of the game that I can't play because I gave away my XBOX when I got my 360 and saw that most of my library was BC. This is one of about 5 titles I own that are not BC.
I'll transfer my data and sell my 20G drive. Hate to spend the money, but I only have about 3G left with all my downloadable content and demos that I continue to play - like BF:BC.
I'm guessing a bunch more DLC is coming - GTA, probably for Fallout, maps for COD4 and other games I play...plus I've been wanted to download Psychonauts and Indigo Prophecy, but don't have room...
I feel sick to my stomach...that's a lot of dough...especially with the gas prices.
