I never had high hopes for this game, and the demo proved my intuition correct. The fighting mechanics were awkward, and the situational button presses were way overused. The unlock feature where you merely hold the button down was lame as well. Finally, the in game graphics were nothing to write home about either. This game isn't even a rental for me.

Now I may pass altogether. I'd rather play through RE4 or BioShock again.

The PC will probably always have the best tools - due to it being an open system as opposed to a console, but I believe the people willing to pay to get computers capable of the cutting edge graphics is decreasing. Look at how well the Wii is selling - the general public wants casual gaming.

Its the law of diminishing returns. Does a game on a $1500 rig look THAT much better than on a $300-$400 console? What about a $4000 PC? For the price of some of these PCs, you could ow...

This guy is drunk and loud, but is generally in a good mood, but he isn't very good - which doesn't matter to him because all he cares about is "having fun". You'll find him standing around on the map for an easy kill because he has left to go to the bathroom - again - or to get another beer.

These guys don't last very long because I believe they pass out.

Loved him as a player, but his know-it-all superiority complex has got to go. I only buy one Madden game per generation so I can play FB if I want - I'll be sticking with my '06 - it's good enough for me...

You know him - he's having an "off" night and makes all kinds of excuses - lag when no one else is lagging, he's tired, and he brags about how he "usually" does.

They don't really know that a game stinks because they have not played many "great" games.

Think of how your tastes have matured. I pass on many games today that before I would have bought. We are no longer impressed by cool Box Art; we read previews, reviews and forums before we buy.

Casual gamers are impressed with far less, and will either get bored and stop gaming or will develop a more critical criteria when deciding on a game.

I have my eye on one for next Christmas - Sony and Samsung are out of my price range...for now my 1080i Panasonic CRT is doing pretty well.

I feel pretty fortunate!

You need a 1080P capable TV in order to gain the benefits of Blu-Ray. - Plus the price of a Blu-Ray player or PS3. This will take time - prices are coming down, but a new TV is a major purchase for most people.

Personally, I'm saving for a new TV and will then buy a PS3. I may have to wait until next spring to play MGS4, but it will be worth it when I see it in all its glory.

Some parents try to shelter their kids altogether, and then the kid does not know how to handle life when he gets some freedom - like being away at camp/college for the first time.

A wiser approach is to get involved with what your kids are doing and expose them to new things and then talk with them about it - teach them how(not what) to think so they can make their own educated/informed decisions.

That's my point - kids are naturally fascinated with violence - however, they are not always aware of the consequences of their actions - they don't all understand the finality of death - that playing with the gun in daddy's top drawer is a world's difference than playing with a neon orange toy plasma pistol that shoots nerf darts.

First, this article states that children are not fascinated with sex or violence before a certain level of maturity. This is simply not true. Kids are fascinated with their bodies, and how they are the same or different than other kids or adults - have we forgotten playing "doctor"? When I was in second grade, a guy in the neighborhood had a poster of a topless Suzanne Somers hanging in his garage - and often he left the garage door open. If I wasn't supposed to be interested in...

Any game that claims to be like Diablo will find me playing it. I am even willing to put up with the framerate of Two Worlds because I love the genre.

One question - anyone know how linear/open this game is - I'm talking the size/accessabiliy of the game world? Are we talking wide-open like Oblivion, semi-open like Fable, or pretty linear like Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance?

He turns up his nose at a great medium-medium rare tenderloin with grilled asparagus and dark chocolate truffle cheesecake for dessert because he needs to feel superior by prefering something trendy involving some real truffle oil and some sort of foam(the new rage on Iron Chef America).

I loved Gears; I guess I'm just a simpleton...

I've been wanting to play Indigo Prohecy, but it is going to be tight - fitting it on my HD - with my DLC and game saves. If I was like some of you who have videos and music stored on it, there would be no way.

I would be easier and cheaper to find a used copy at Gamestop...

I only play RTS skimishes against the computer.
I NEVER play ranked matches.
I actually love Two Worlds. (Please don't slap me!)
The console gets turned off for Battlestar Galactica.

Two signs I still have some hardcoreness left:

I worked hard to get my kill/death ratio in COD4 above 1.0 (1.12 now)so I am not a detriment to my team.

I will be getting Ninja Gaiden 2 at launch and will NOT play it on the easy "Acolyte"...

The article is founded on the tenant that there has not been another game where people have played hours upon hours on their 360. This simply is not true.

I've spent 10 hour all day sessions on Oblivion and frequent 5 hour sessions playing on LIVE. On average, a gaming session for me is about 3 hours, and I bet it is similar for those of us who have school/work/families.

I just don't see how THIS game is going to BREAK a ton of systems.

Is it an action RPG, an open-world game? The swordplay reminds me of Prince of Persia - a good thing. I wonder if it is like a God of War type action game...
