and in my prime!
Every summer I feel anxious about the fact that there is not enough time - not to mention money to play/buy all the fall/holiday releases.
But every year, the list of 10-15 "must-own" games gets whittled down to about 5 after over-hyped games don't deliver.
With Too Human doing poorly, I just might be able to get Force Unleashed or LOTR Conquest in addition to Gears 2, Resist. 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2 and COD:WaW -assuming those games don't suck also!
I hope so - TW was great in concept - just poor in execution.
and I will be buying this game as soon as it is a "Greatest Hits" for $29.99.
It was one of the better demos I've played, and I was impressed by the shooting mechanics - since I play a lot of 360 shooters.
I would rent it, but this is a classic I want in my collection.
I play at night in the basement - after the kids are in bed, and the sound still travels a bit - sound system does not have a headphones jack - or I'd do that.
I actually traded GTA4 because of this. - The cussing was CONSTANT, and though it doesn't bother me, I don't want my 3 year old running around talking like Brucie.
Right now it is sexy to be against this game and MS having a successful new IP.
Would-be game journalists will love or hate it too the extreme just to draw attention to their review article.
I am anxious for the reviews, however, from the more reputable sites.
Genre? Story? Anything?
there is a firm release date and it is less than two months before that date. Most of the time I'll reserve it a week or so before release. And I keep all receipts.
And - I did have Gamestop call me once because I had not picked up a reserved game that I had decided I did not want, but had not gone in to get my money back or transfer to another reserve. So, in that instance, they were honest.
Be responsible consumers, people!
To anyone trying to make an intelligent well constructed point - Your time is much better spent elsewhere. There are forums out there for these discussions. Attempting it here will only further polarize and confirm the negative stereotypes each side has about the other.
This is a gaming site - let's keep it about the games.
I think that many want to get in while B/C is still available.
Also, the price of a 40G PS3 + DualShock 3 + MGS4 > the 80G MGS4 bundle by about $20 - and you get all the extra media slots and B/C and twice the HD space with the bundle.
Its a no-brainer.
This game is slowly working its way up from "might rent" to "might buy".
the PS3 makes sense. Mr. Nongamer will likely pick up a copy of Madden or see a commercial for some game and try it out if it looks interesting to him/her.
Besides, the PS3, though huge, is a sexy machine.
I bought a 360 at launch - I'm on my second one, and I just bought a PS3 last week.
Give me some time to enjoy this gen - there are so many games coming out that I am excited about.
Besides, with the 360s RROD issues and the PS3s slow start, I will not be getting the next consoles at launch.
By waiting on the PS3, I got the 80G with B/C, DualShock 3 and MGSIV for $100 less than the launch price w/o the game or DS3...
I'll agree that Morrowind had a certain something special that Oblivion lacked, but Oblivion is still a fantstic game - just put it in again last night to try on my new TV, and I'm hooked again.
Fallout 3 will be great as well.
Its all about creating interesting worlds to explore, and Bethesda does it best.
so I'm not complaining - thought almost every OTHER title is a rip to trade.
Here's how I see it:
Good:
- Game Informer Mag - my fav mag.
- Can reliably preorder ANY game
- Lots of stores in town means a lot of inventory and other places to go if someone ticks me off
- Good inventory of old games - I can pick up a random racing game for my 3 year old to fiddle with for nothing.
Bad:
- Ignorant associates who know ...
so no one can accuse me of fanboyism(love the system BTW - MGS4 is a game for the ages)
But, Home does not really interest me. I'll check it out I'm sure, but it was never a pull for me to buy the system - Killzone 2, MGS4, Resist. 2 and God of War 3 are why I bought the system - and Blu-ray certainly helped...
Besides...spending time on Home would take away from time here - and you guys would miss me and be all broken up...."Where's BoneMagnus...boohoohoo....
I bought it used at blockbuster for $12.99 a couple of years ago. I haven't finished it yet - got frustrated with the controls...etc.
I just started MGS4 on Tuesday - finally broke down and bought me a PS3 - and it controls much better than the older Metal Gear games.
I doubt I'll sell it. I'm sure my GC will survive a nuclear blast - I'll finish it eventually, and I am somewhat of a collector of games and only sell/trade them very rarely.
I thought it would be more popular...guess its pretty niche.
Or maybe I'm just uber-hardcore!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHahaha...hahaha.. .haha...ha....uhh...sorry...
Both will be great - multiplayer on both will be great.
"Better" is subjective.
I bought the 360 at launch, and it lasted 2.5 years before the RROD, but I don't want to mess with that whole debacle again.
I'll wait until the console proves reliable.
I waited on the PS3 and got the MGS4 bundle - a fantastic deal. Waiting got me a DualShock 3, back. comp., an 80G HD, all the inputs, and one of the best games ever for $100 less than the initial price of a PS3 w/o vibration and a game.
