My PC is a dinosaur...
if its a "rent" or a "buy". If the game is decent length - 12-15 hours and is something I'll want to replay, then its a "buy". Though I might wait for it to drop in price regardless...
Gears 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3 and COD5 are all guaranteed purchases for the 360, not to mention getting a PS3, MGS4 and Resistance 2...that's a lot of dough - and games that will occupy me for quite a while.
Any suggestions? Personally I think it would look great mounted on some pieced together and welded sheet metal above the fireplace.
foe one of these new models...unless I can find the MGS bundle at Gamestop where I have a $300 credit.
Its inevitable that if someone owns multiple systems, that one will get more play than the other. And there is nothing wrong with purchasing only one system bacause you prefer it over others out there.
The problem is that people try to make a subjective preference in to an objective one. Its as if they are saying "I know for a fact that I have more fun playing Heavenly Sword on my PS3 than you do playing Ninja Gaiden on your 360." You can't say that. You can't t...
rather than living vicariously over the success or failure of a piece of electronics equipment and its parent company - to which the person has no affiliation.
Went to Wal-Mart, picked up and arcade and the $20 warranty and put my 120 G HD on it - and now I have HDMI...then the day my repaired 360 came back, I took it, a couple of games, my DS Lite(don't have time to play it - as cool as I think it is) and three games for it and traded it all in. I got $303 - which will go toward an 80G PS3 this fall.
I'm happy.
If you look at the game cards of BF players, almost all played COD4 - and if you read the BF xbox.com forums, you'll see that a decent amount are tired of COD4.
Nothing against COD4 - its just that some people played it to death, and felt it was time to move on.
Personally, I rotate between all of these games. I can't play just one game like some people...
The majority of people who are buying the Wii do not read gaming mags or come to gaming websites.
They bought the Wii to play bowling and will buy few - if any - other games. A bunch of the teachers at the school I work at bought Wiis - they do not follow the industry, let me tell you. All they know is some blurb on the evening news.
Nintendo's hardcore loyal are a very small percentage of their current audience. Therefore, it makes little sense for them to in...
Hearing that the main quest will only take 11-12 hours worries me. There has been no detail regarding side quests. Yes, they have talked about marriage, kids, buying houses, but I want adventure, monsters and quests.
With Oblivion for example, you could take on tons of faction and random quests and never touch the main story.
I loved all the social interaction of the first Fable, and I'm excited about it expanding in Fable 2. I'm just worried that they've cre...
that console owners could really be proud of compared to PC FPS games.
The controls were brilliant and created a standard for the console FPS.
The story was interesting, the environments, and the MP play all contributed to making console owners feel like they could have a great FPS too.
True, the game is not perfect - library level, abrupt endings and repeated textures...but I believe if it was not for Halo, there would not be a Killzone, Gears, Resista...
I like having specific release dates - not "first quarter" or "late 2008" or "holiday" - even months without a specific day - they all seem to get changed too often.
3/13/09 - I WILL be there!!!!!
I misread the title!
Thought it said "PS3 doesn't depend on FFXIII sales"
Forget everything I posted...I need a nap.
If FF is not a Sony staple, then what is? I may be ignorant, but I thought since FFVII though XII(except XI) were all Sony exclusive and always sold well that FF was one of Sony's big exclusive draws.
I always thought FF was as important as GT, God of War, MGS and Socom...guess I was wrong...sorry.
I find him more entertaining than Jack whats-it that did the Sony E3 presentation. Kaz always has a fair take on things and seems reasonable.
If you mean technologically and graphically, then sure, but when you factor in value, ease of use and accessibility, consoles make up for the lack of having the absolute latest tech.
And you're right, I can't afford it! And so can't many others - so for us consoles are "superior" - at least those of us with limited gaming funds get to play!
And as much as I'd like a cutting edge PC to game on - for RTS and Diablo III, I am enjoying my consoles very muc...
Losing FF exclusivity does not spell doom for the PS3, but if anyone thinks there are not a significant number of people who buy a PS3 JUST to play FF games, they are not in touch with reality.
I think it is fair to say FF is as important to Sony as Halo is to MS.
I am so with you. Even though I always knew I wanted a PS3 and planned on getting one, I kinda liked negative PS3 news because I felt like I wasn't missing out. I was kinda glad the PS3 had a slow start. I guess I just wanted to feel good about purchasing a 360 first even though it was a foregone conclusion that I would own both eventually. (And I'll get a Wii in 2 years when my son gets a little older).
And let me say that I have loved my 360 - I never felt any regret ab...
but I can't afford it right now. Yes a PS3 is far less expensive, but the same principal applies.
For kids depending on mom and dad to buy the system, they may be forced to wait - longer than a year depending on the financial state of the family. Or, those like me, with a family and mortgage, I save up my "extra money" for big purchases like a new console.
If you are in a position where you can buy what you want when you want it, that's awesome. An...
the 80G MGS bundle. My trifecta of a 1080p 120Hz HDTV and a 360 AND PS3 hooked up via HDMI is complete!
