LA is right there with ya dude.
Couldn't have said it any better.
I'm generally always behind as I complete the single player campaign before hopping online. That goes for any game that has a decent campaign I mean (i.e. not Left 4 Dead).
I get my ass handed to me the first couple of hours and then I start to get the hang of things and find my groove.
It's all about perseverance and being able to withstand a few good quick beat downs before hanging in there and doing some damage.
If Microsoft does indeed release their next gen console ahead of both Nintendo and Sony, it will have real potential to be the PS2 of the next generation of gamers.
While the PS3 is a killer machine riding high on success now, it is in large part due to the dedicated fanbase of the original PSone/PS2 that the PS3 has not failed.
But the younger generation of gamers and the media in general have steadily been gaming on the Xbox brand. If they release first,...
Yes, the PS3 is full of AWESOME.
But you seriously mean to tell me that you wouldn't even be slightly interested in getting a next gen console that WILL have much better graphics, total dev support, better online capabilities etc...
I was totally enjoying the PS2 when this current generation of consoles came out. When I saw the 360 graphics I had to make the jump. Had Sony launched the PS3 right along with it, the choice would've been easy.
Have to say that I agree with you there.
It will ship with upgradeable graphics card capabilities and a much better, reliable hardware design, but with a bigger form factor. It is already knee deep into the development process according to an Xbox division employee.
And if the possibilities of having an upgradeable graphics card are true, PC gaming will be relegated strictly to those that prefer to game with a mouse and keyboard over a gamepad, or a monitor over a 55" HDTV.
That's possibly the lamest cover I've seen in a while.
I disagree.
I clearly remember being in high school when the N64 & PSOne came out. There were many arguments over what system/company was better and we weren't on the net.
I just checked out Giantbomb the other day after hearing the dude on the Gametrailers bonus round. Pretty good site.
Gamespot on the other hand is relatively weak on many fronts and it didn't really make sense to me when there was an article here a few weeks ago about how they were the #1 most visited game site again, overtaking IGN.
"wun myrun truuuuuuuuz.... wooowwwww".
Man, that conference was just full of win.
Yeah, installs don't bother me one bit either. I actually install every 360 game I play for better performance & a more quite machine.
Once I'm done, I delete it from the hard drive. No worries.
Yakuza 3 was my first in the series and I loved it.
There's a pretty good recap section where the major events of part 1 & 2 are detailed. From what I could tell they did a good job there and I remembered most of the stuff when playing through the game. You can also "reminisce", which is excellent.
I always look forward to seeing the totally absurd user created pics of what the next gen consoles might look like, they're just plain terrible haha.
This is a perfect example of why episodic DLC just needs to go away altogether, although I know that it's clearly here to stay unfortunately.
I'd rather wait for a full on sequel, where I can pay one flat fee and do a 6-8 hour stretch of gameplay in one sitting.
Paying $5 here and there every few months for an hour or two of play is getting old fast.
If there is to be episodic content, then it needs to be something clearly set in ston...
Good luck with that. I can't remember the last time THQ delivered a worth while release.
Seems like ever since the Smackdown vs. Raw series became huge everything else just kind of took a back seat. SvR has gotten horribly stale as well.
Haha, there might be some truth to this.
I can't wait to jump back in and conquer Nightmare mode. I think I missed only 2-3 thermoses so I'll be on the lookout for those, but I agree in the general sense that they're not needed.
Alan Wake gets pretty intense often and with it being so story driven it's probably best experienced not having to worry about running around for collectibles.
Great game regardless.
Pretty much agree with everything you wrote, except I also tried out the 3D Blu-ray on a huge Bravia and was quite impressed.
Its picture clarity was much better than what I experienced with Avatar on the Imax 3D in my opinion.
I look at it this way...
I truly believe that Microsoft has completely captivated the new younger generation of hardcore gamers with the Xbox 360. If Microsoft does indeed release their next gen console ahead of both Nintendo and Sony, it will have real potential to be the PS2 of the next generation of gamers.
