The best part of RDR's story to me was the tie in of the "I know you" stranger and the ending.
That was really good stuff there.
Oddly enough, I have to say I'm with you there.
AC1 & 2 are some of my favorites this gen, but this really looks all too familiar at this point and I feel no hype for the game at all.
Maybe that will change as it gets closer to the release date.
If the kids enjoy it, then it's a win. I seriously can't imagine Sega targeting this to any other audience, especially the hardcore gamer.
Article was very well said.
I used to be a pretty big Nintendo fan up until the Gamecube. Honestly, they can refine and perfect their beloved franchises like Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong ect.... The fact is, they are the same childish mascots and I have just grown up and moved on.
I understand that there's supposedly "hardcore" platforming elements to Mario, but is it really more than just a new coat of paint on a 25 year old franchise? Nintendo...
The most excited I have been for a console in general has to be for the original PlayStation.
I was a big Nintendo guy prior to the PSOne, but the introduction of the disc format on consoles, smooth graphics, mature games and an amazingly comfortable controller had me sold.
What really cemented the switch to the PS brand for me however was the original Resident Evil.
I still remember to this day the feeling that I got from that game. Truly a...
I agree with the author on everything. This was one of my most anticipated releases since early last year, and I found myself bored & frustrated after the 15-20hr mark.
I went ahead and finished the thing, but yeah... certainly not worthy of the A+ reviews it got.
Some of the worst controls in a AAA title ever. What other blockbuster can you think of with controls that sluggish getting a 9.5-10 across the board?
Never played the first Fable, but Fable 2 was one of the worst "RPG's" I can recall playing. Only positive thing in that game for me was the art style.
I thought the movements of the vehicles looked pretty "meh" as well. Like PS2 arcade type physics/handling whatever you want to call it. This generation of consoles still can't get great looking motorcycle gameplay (ala Lost & Damned). Still way to early though and I will actually get this as I loved the original games.
I'm sure it will be fun as hell, especially online.
Is it because of demand? Or is it because retailers don't want to bring it in yet until they deplete their old 360 stock.
I literally just got back from Best Buy and they had shelves and shelves of Arcades and Elites @ the $50 price drop. Not a 360 S in site.
Unless Microsoft is giving the big box stores rebates on the new system, I don't see them bringing it in only to lose $$$ on old stock.
During that whole interview Mattrick came across as a real pompous ass imo.
Like "I know we fucked up our conference, no need to rub it in" kind of defensive attitude.
Flower has me sold on Journey. Gotta support the good indie devs.
Suffice it to say, the game looks miles above what I was expecting. MUST PLAY SOON!
because the PS3 install base really is too big to ignore at this point.
"With Sony and Valve's newfound relationship".
Man, that still sounds weird.
Just my personal opinion. When I first started using Live I noticed the difference right away how much more streamlined the dashboard is.
It's really only minor, but each icon taking a couple of seconds to load everytime you scroll through it is kind of an eye sore. Also on Live I can pretty much get to anything I want lickety split.
So it's basically the loading and multiple area navigation that makes it seem a bit more "clunky" I guess. ...
I think they might have missed the mark somewhat. PSN is pretty damn good already at no cost. There are some features of Live that I definitely prefer, but having to pay to enjoy them is rather lame.
As it stands right now though I'm not too certain I want to be subscribing to both of them. So for now I'll stick with Live.
What PSN does need imo is a XMB redesign, to make everything much more accessible and less clunky.
Exactly.
If I'm going to work out at home it's going to be done via a REAL workout like P90X.
Let's not confuse videogames with actual workouts here. Wii fit included.
It's pretty much human nature that we don't want to look like retards for the most part. Otherwise why as a society would we put a lot of emphasis on the clothing and cosmetics that we buy?
Also, I spend many hours a week gaming and I regularly go to the gym and have a very healthy lifestyle as well. So your point here is moot.
that when I first played Portal on the Orange Box I was like "what's all the fuss about?!"
But it eventually grew on me and it really is a totally unique puzzle experience.
Looking forward to it.
Well, Fable 2 sucked. Fable 3 needs a demo for me to even consider returning to that franchise.
