Treat yo self! and buy both.
No denying the XboneX version. I'd still buy the game on PS4 first for PSVR support.
I think console gamers accept that PC offers a superior gaming experience. I can only speak for myself, but I'm not savy in keeping a PC updated, nor could I afford to continuously update it. So sticking with consoles is a better option for me.
Ultimately, every gaming device has it's pros and cons. You put over one's pros and someone will always come along pointing out it's cons while putting over another's pros. And then repeat. Infinity.
But it's not just graphics. It's also performance.
I know I'm in the "don't get it" minority, but I don't understand how the Switch is considered even in the same ballpark as the PS4 and XB1. Sure, there is the first party factor, but I would think Switch gamers would be getting fed up with getting subpar ports all the time.
That said, I own a Switch. But I've only bought maybe 3 games for it. I mostly switch back and forth between PS4 and XB1.
Admittedly, I paid it, as I'm a sucker for bad-assery, but as much as I'm enjoying Fortnite, the Raven skin and glider, I'm kicking myself for spending 2800 v-bucks on them, which equals a ridiculous $28 of hard earned real world money.
Oh, well. It's only money.

Sweet! Plenty of time to play it before Red Dead Redemption 2 drops.
I still see the PS5 releasing in 2020. For one, current gen sales aren't hurting. The Pro has only been available for about 18 months, I think; the XboneX, 6 months. I don't expect a new Xbox until 2021. Sony should want to beat Microsoft to a release date, but not by more than a year to reduce the chances of Microsoft being able to capitalize off of extra time to develop.
I prefer digital; mainly because I didn't want my kid ever handling discs when she was younger. But I recognize the one major benefit of owning a physical copy that a lot of people overlook -- if you buy digital and then for whatever reason the account you bought that digital copy on gets banned, you lose that game and the money spent on it, too. At least with a physical copy you can just boot up the game using another account.
I haven't been in a GameStop in a few years and I use to go there weekly. Benefit of going digital - no trade-in option, zero temptation to give this company my stuff for next to nothing just to save a few dollars on new stuff I'll eventually sell back to them for scraps.
But you can play Sea Of Thieves (and TONS more) for $10/month with Game Pass.
You should probably be thinking about updating.
I just bought an Xbox One X and I have 2 OG PS4s. The XB1X is a beast! And I could see Microsoft staying with it for another 4 years before releasing a next gen console. But I don't think Sony will wait that long. We might see the PS5 in as little as 2 years, so I'd wait for that before buying the PS4 Pro.
Pretty cool theory. I actually watched a YouTube video this morning talking about how the Fortnite map is in the shape of Poland and there is a city where Tilted Towers sits that has actually been struct by meteors before. Plus, there are now a lot of telescopes on the map just added in the latest update.
I love God Of War games, but I'm still heavy into Forrtnite and just got Far Cry 5. Plus, I kinda want to spend some time outdoors. But I'll pick up GoW later; probably at a discount.
I just bought it. I used the 20% off code I had that was going to expire today anyway, so it didn't sting so bad.
I'm really wishing I picked up Wipeout for cheap during the holiday sales now.
I'm happy with what I can play on my Note 8, so I won't even touch a handheld gaming system right now. I don't even play my Switch. If Sony wants people to play PlayStation on a handheld, make a deal with Google and/or Apple. Or, if they really want to get ballsy, release their own phone with it's own OS that supports PlayStation.
Rant: I know movie tie-in games are typically terrible, but nowadays, anything involving pirates makes me think of Pirates Of The Caribbean; probably because of the over-use of skeleton pirates every pirate based form of entertainment seems to include. That said, it feels almost mandatory that Captain Jack Sparrow should some how show up at some point; copyrights be damned. He's a pirate, after all.
Is anyone else amazed like I am that GameStop is still a thing in 2018? I don't even remember the last time I shopped at one and when I did it wasn't for games, but for Funko Pops that I stopped collecting some time ago.
