It sold as well as PSVR1 in its first month, despite costing more and limited availability in most countrie; It hasn't even hit retail in North America yet.
I suspect Sony expected this and gave it a soft launch intentionally to combat scalping and will follow-up with a bigger launch later this year, possibly when Beat Saber releases, that'll carry it into the holidays.
I have faith that Sony will do just that. Just as I have faith Microsoft will ruin COD. And my main reasons for thinking this is because Microsoft managed to ruin Halo and because Sony actually works with, takes chances, and puts money into it's studios
State Of Plays are typically disappointing and overhyped, not necessarily by Sony, but the speculating PlayStation community. That said, sure, it's possible Sony is saving the best stuff for June, but I wouldn't say their year has been lackluster with them just releasing the PSVR2 along with about 40 launch titles and more to come in it's one month launch window. I wouldn't blame Sony for being quiet for a few months while people discover PSVR2.
Such silly hate, too. 1000s of people worked on a very good game in a very unforgiving industry. JK Rowling wasn't one of them. And JK Rowling is a billionaire, set for life. She could care less if you buy the game or not. The only people you're hurting are the people that developed the game and yourself for missing out playing it.

I thought it was so stupid that Dead Space's launch time was like 11AM EST. That's a game you would want to play all night in the dark. But no, they gave it a broad daylight launch.

Shadow dropping as a marketing tool? That sounds more like we have zero faith in this game moving any needles, so we'll save as much as possible by not advertising it and rely solely on word of mouth. And I guess that's a strategy, but not taking risks the way Sony does seems to be a huge flaw at Microsoft.

Sony has a lot of IPs that win a lot of awards, but none have had the success of COD.. and Sony's IPs are years apart - 4 years between 2018's God Of War and it's 2022 sequel. A new COD comes out every year. It's not even close to being thought of as comparable.
Not baffling at all. Who doesn't have an iPhone these days capable of playing thousands of games on the go? VR is a growing market that PlayStation can capitalize on since it's #1 competitor refuses to enter that market.
I don't get it. I heard nothing about this game until it came out. Was there no marketing? Did Xbox and Bethesda not realize they had a potential hit on their hands and just failed capitalizing on it?
I'd love to play Rock Band in VR using hand-tracking. I actually have a game called Unplugged on Meta Quest 2 that lays a nice foundation for it.

Keeping both Move controllers equally charged for PSVR1 was a huge hassle for me. I got a charging station for my Meta Quest 2 and realized that was so much more convenient. So spending that extra for PSVR2's charging station was a no brainer.
