I can see Battlefield and COD and others cloning PUBG. What I can't see is anyone adding fort building like in Fortnite, which could keep Fortnite ahead of the pack for awhile.
Interesting they picked the weekend the heavily rumored demise of Tilted Towers was suppose to go down (but didn't). Probably just a coincidence.
Still. I already own PUBG. I prefer Fortnite, but PUBG is a nice alternative if Fortnite isn't your style.
I've put more money into Fortnite than any game ever! But it's also been a 3 month, still going strong obsession that has actually done wonders for my anxiety as odd as that may seem.
Basically, Fortnite is cheaper than therapy.
IF anything happens to Tilted Towers it won't happen until the season 3 Battle Pass ends, because in week 5 one of the challenges is to get eliminations in Tilted Towers. Remove that part of the map too soon and you'd be screwing over Battle Pass owners who haven't completed that challenge yet.
Season 3 ends on April 30, tho. So, anything could happen come May 1.
I'm 2 hours in and still on the fence about God Of War. I mean, visually, the game looks amazing and being a screenshot junkie, I'm a huge fan of pretty. But what concerns me is how far the game strays from OG God Of War, which I was a big fan of. I also keep thinking how the general complaint about Sony exclusives (usually from Xbox fanboys) is that they're more about cinematics than gameplay.
So, I'll see how things go. I've read the game starts of...
If it does, Microsoft wins next gen.
Lol @ Inappropriate. More inappropriate is flagging an innocent joke by someone who literally just recently spent $500 on an Xbox One X.
Butt hurt much?
Is Bleszinski still based out of (was it Raleigh?) NC like Epic? If so, it would be an easy, no brainer jump for his team to work for a much larger, successful studio; especially if they don't have to worry about relocation.
If Cliff don't like it.. oh well.
Negativity is loud, positivity is silent.
Just look at Trump. As much as you heard people complaining about him, thinking there was no way he would ever be elected president, all those people who never said a word about him and kept their mouths shut ended up making him president.
A large portion of gamers are fine with how COD plays. You just rarely hear from them until the game comes out and it's suddenly #1, despite all the critism.
It's not like you can only play it for a week and then they take it away. I rarely spend more than a week playing a game anyway, which is what I love about Game Pass. When I'm done playing, I got a huge selection of other games I can play at no additional cost. So if the game sucks, no biggie. Just grab another.
Not this late in the "game". GTAV originally released on the PS3, a few months before the PS4 came out. So, a lot of people - myself included - bought it day-1, then "upgraded" to PS4, hence buying a 2nd copy. It's since had the life of the PS4 to grow, which it continues to do to this day. Red Dead Redemption 2 won't likely have that turn around as it's due out in 6 months and it'll likely be another year before Sony even officially announces the PS5 w...
I don't see a point to advertise until at least E3 when pre-ordering should become available and then, with the game already on people's minds, plus having reason to revisit an enhanced version of the old game, Rockstar should let it simmer while people focus on their summer vacation before hitting it hard at the beginning of September until after launch.
Advertising is expensive and a huge part of a game's budget. I think Rockstar knows word of mouth is super ...
They got a little bit of my money. I don't know what Rare's cut is of my $10 Game Pass subscription. Oh wait, I'm still on the free trial until the end of May. Nevermind.
Same. I played RDR not too long ago on PS3 and the difference is night and day.
Every console has it's pros and cons. The Xbox One X enhancing, not just new games, but a classic like Red Dead Redemption is one of it's biggest pros. Red Dead looks like a brand new game now and is worth revisiting.
I guess considering Epic began developing Fortnite just before Bleszinski left the company - he's even in the game's credits - he feels pretty burned he skipped out before cashing in on the biggest game out there right now.
At least you still have a hot gamer girl wife, Cliff.
For now.
I own it, plus it's on Game Pass, but haven't re-downloaded it yet. I tried downloading Gears 4, but then realized it's over 100 GB. I have a bandwidth limit of 500 GB, so that got shutdown quick. Maybe I'll get Gears 3 again after my bandwidth resets.
True. But I think Fortnite stands out here implementing perfectly an almost completely destructible, constantly on the go, building environment that requires resource gathering. And trying to match that successfully could scare a lot of developers away from even attempting to copy Fortnite. PUBG, on the other hand, is already dealing with indy developed clones on mobile.
