Pretty sure they aren't exclusive in any region. They are likely polling people in a console specific manner ie if somone says they want biohazard 5 on ps3 then that only counts for the ps3 version and not the 360 version. If it was the other way around then it would say biohazard 5 360... Anyway, just my guess...
I agree, I am one of them... There are games coming up on ps3 that I really want but they are literally 1.5-2 years out. Why buy a ps3 now at $600 when there isn't any games that really interest me when I can wait until the games that I want actually arrive and the ps3 is much cheaper and the games that kinda perk my interest are 'platinum' priced.
I bought the 360 on day one and there have been some great titles but the titles I REALLY wanted are only just starting to come o...
Wow, being a Canadian that speaks French and English as well, I have to admit that I find Jade intensely attractive. Oh yeah, and AC sounds good too! hahaha
Actually, if you followed my comments in many other threads you would know that I don't hate the ps3 and actually fully intend to buy one later in it's life cycle when it is below $300 and many of the AAA titles are at 'platinum' pricing already.
And you are 100% right and I agree with you 100%. The cell is designed for efficient highly structured parallel code. 100% correct. If I could agree with you more than 100% I would.
Game code is >NOT< efficient ...
Before people rip me a new one for this comment, I am trying to be objective about what the cell means for games. This comment is not laced with fanboy '360 owns ps3' underpinnings. I am simply pointing out that the cell isn't magic.
There are a number of factors not addressed as it pertains to running a game engine vs this article.
1. the ps3 only has six spes available to games not eight.
2. 'Breadth-first searching on graphs' can be run on a h...
This is seriously the worst, least researched 'article' I have ever read.
First off, both use blue lasers. The difference is that the data layer for HD-DVD is .5mm beneath the surface (like DVD) and Blu-Ray is .1mm. The lower depth is what allows Blu-Ray to finely focus the laser allowing the tracks to be more closely packed giving it a higher storage capacity. It is also largely responsible for the increased cost over HD-DVD.
Second, Toshiba is not HD-DVD a...
Looks good but this is definitely a game you need to see in full motion to really appreciate it!
hey, did mart make a semi pro ps3 comment? Who the heck disagreed with that? We should be nurturing his baby step! hahaha
Looks like possible load balancing to me... I'd say they backed off the hdr in favour of other things such as particle effects etc. Overall, looks good.
Close second, to answer your question, Blu-Ray (BD) is the better format if bulk data storage is your thing but HD-DVD (HD) is the better format for film delivery.
30GB is enough for over 4 hours of 1080p video which is enough for any movie.
HD has more mandatory audio support (Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus) which is only optional on BD.
HD has Thomson's Film grain technology to counter the negative effects of compression on film grain. BD has n...
error post, please ignore.
Studio support keeps coming up over and over and over in these format war discussions, usually by someone that hasn't done their research, so here is the comprehensive list.

True, but only about 3.5 Million consoles have actually sold and neither Sony nor retailers like to sit on unsold merchandise because it costs them money every single day it sits in a warehouse or on a shelf. In order for Sony to ship more consoles, retailers need to buy more consoles and if retailers presently have 2 million consoles in warehouses well, I think you know where I am going with this... Unfortunately, Sony is in a tight spot on this one...
Just so everyone knows, I'm not being a hater, it's just that he's asking for specifics.
Oblivion was delayed because of Blu-Ray. It was supposed to be a launch title but bethesda ran into technical difficulties because the blu-ray's slower read speed and seek times. They solved the issue by replicating the same data over and over on different parts of the disc to reduce seek times and working over the engine to maximize it's data efficiency.
WHEN it happens my pricing guess is this:
Core - $225
Premium - $300
Elite - $350
20GB HD - $75
120GB HD - $125
HD-DVD add-on - $150
everything else unchanged
Ms. Pacman Championship! hahaha
Seriously though, maybe a price cut?
hahaha I can see why you have so many bubbles! I hit agree because I love your sarcasm!
I really don't know... let's put it this way, if squenix announced it as a multiplat tomorrow, I wouldn't be shocked by the announcement. I can tell you that MS is working to get the title, sony is working to keep it exclusive and squenix will go whichever direction they think makes them the most money.
I guess if pushed on my opinion, I would lean towards FF XIII being ps3 exclusive and Nintendo and Microsoft both getting a spinoff title in the FF XIII universe.
People, gaming is a business. This is a classic gambit.
"As for FF on the Xbox 360, it's currently a completely blank page."?
This is a meaningless statement. It's posturing. Squenix knows it has a valuable ip on its hands and they are using the media to manipulate their position.
Recognize these statements?
Sony: rumble is last gen (until immersion reduces their lawsuit)
Ubisoft: Assasin's Creed is exclusive to ps3 (until ms pon...
uhhh... You guy are missing a MAJOR thing here. The 360 isn't upscaling the game at all. Backwards compatible games on the 360 are run at 720p >natively< with anti-aliasing running to boot. No scaling required. The hardware scaler is used to scale games running in 720p to 1080i for a wide compatibility with all hdtvs.
The ps3 is running the games at 480p and then it has a scalar applied.
This comparison is very similar to comparing an upscaled dvd to ...
