@jbiz320
How is stating pros for a platform elitist? The ONLY downside to PC is you will need a $500+ rig (The higher you go, the farther above the console visuals you get) to reap the benefits of much better graphics than consoles. (Other downside is if you have friends on another platform, but that's a downside to any platform).
PC will look and run better.
Supports mouse OR controller.
Mods.
An editor than is VERY user friendly....
@FunAndGun
Agreed!
The video says "Xbox 360 Gameplay Footage". Doesn't say "PC with Xbox 360 controller footage". Tree pop-in in the distance and the framerate drop shows console (impressive nonetheless). Also, you you pause the video with the helicopter, you can see the ghosting from the AA method the 360 uses.
@EddyD
If a company demos a PC game this close to release, it's not going to be a PC that's going to drop below 30 FPS, lol.
@Pillville
LOL just because you aren't shooting enemies means there is no gameplay? Dialogue and picking up items isn't game play?
Guess Heavy Rain isn't a game by your definition.
There is more to gameplay than just shooting enemies...
Why didn't you show any shots when it was daytime?
Oh yea, you are cherry picking, my bad, continue.
@Zinc
I know, I looked at his comment history. He knows some techy stuff, but will ignore inferior techniques on PS3 games and boast about the good techniques, and does the opposite for xbox. Which is sad because that means he knows what he is seeing but has the fanboy goggles strapped to his head so tight that he is still biased.
I was just trying to give him a chance.
@sayonara89
What about it looks like shit? Care to give specifics besides "Looks like shit"?
What about a shooter? Cover, peek, shoot, repeat.
There are other games with few enemy types. Killzone, COD, UC while games like MGS4, Halo and gears have quite an array of baddies.
@Rashid Sayed
I did read that and I think it's stupid to compare. The reason he thinks it "trumps" it is because the in game model has more "wrinkles" from normal mapping. That doesn't make is more impressive, that's just an art decision. It's not even the same character!
I bet he can't even tell the CGI shot has sub-surface scattering (light glowing through skin and scattering, like a hand against a flashlight) and the...
Agreed.
the only decent comparisons are the first and second pic.
KZ3 did improve in some areas, most notably moving off of horribly blurry QAA and now uses MLAA. That alone makes the whole game look better. Textures at a distance look better, because since there is no more blurring by QAA, they can stay sharper.
But they pick and chose here. Some of the best shots of KZ3 and worst of KZ2. There isn't that much of a difference.
Best comparison? Do you even own Killzone 2? The last picture is from the opening CGI video. It's not even done in-engine...
That's a bad comparison.
First shot is a good comparison, and the second is a good comparison of ADS. But the third and fourth comparisons suck. Third one is a KZ2 fire fight in a staircase while KZ3 is a fucking vista shot.
Same thing for the fourth pic, KZ2 is a fucking corridor and KZ3 is another vista shot. ...
@CaliGamer
Are you serious? No proof either way? How can you not tell this is fake?
Fanboys on this site are just nuts....
@Big_Dom
I don't think you played the single player of Bad Company 1 or 2....
While I wouldn't call it espionage, it still had stuff more than just big battles. In fact, the largest battles are in MP.
@mamotte
jump? You can't jump in those two games, remember? And even shooters today have "missions". You mean go here and put C4 on that? Press the button on that computer to get files? Protect so-n-so from dying?
I loved those old games, but they too were, "run, shoot, press button on computer or flip switch, don't let someone die, blow up that..."
Some games don't do as much "missions" as you put it...
Depends if there is a hardcore mode. The BF series never had hardcore, it only existed in Bad Company games.
Never said it didn't do more graphics than normal CPUs. And I know all about things being offloaded to the Cell, such as DOF and motion blur in UC2. But I assure you the RSX is doing most of the work, the Cell's SPUs just help take some load off. I would rather have 2 RSX's than 12 SPU's. That was my point.
As for MAG. I think it MOSTLY comes down to how many dedicated servers the developer wants to use. Player count is mostly an issue of netcode and bandwidth...
You mean that KZ3 is now like COD? Its a one hit kill with melee now (not sure if its still one hit with armor on), and if you are close, it does an animation (similar to halo reach assassinations). Only difference is it is first person...
Don't get me wrong KZ3 is cool, but stop acting like something is new, when it isn't. You just look like an ignorant fanboy who doesn't play other games.
With killcam, prone isnt that powerful. And they also said you can't dolphin dive like in BF2, which is what I didnt like in BF2. But I like prone.
MAG is very plain and basic graphics, no destruction, very limited vehicle usage. There just isn't really anything going on EXCEPT for the massive amount of players, that's the trade off.

Excellent list of games there for story. Man, I haven't thought of No One Lives Forever in so long...Such good story and characters...and the humor!
