Only some games cutscenes are not realtime. KZ3, GodOW3 and UC2 use video (not realtime) for almost all of its cutscenes (Hence the large size on disc). Gears of War 1 did almost all cutscenes in realtime except for a few sections as video as well. Alan Wake is similar to KZ3, GodOW3 and UC2. It does nearly all cutscenes in video.

Halo games actually do all cutscenes in real time, pretty impressive. They can't do video, especially in Reach, bec...

"A console is also able to handle branching and multithreading in a better way than PC, due to their set-in-stone architecture."

You couldn't be more wrong. PC CPU's are MUCH better at branch prediction and multithreading. Xbox's and PS3's CPUs are in-order processors while PC CPU's are out-of-order processors.

It depends. We still havent seen DX11 Crysis 2. Only DX9.

My guess is EA needed Crysis 2 to release now for sales, so Crytek is going to work on DX11 till they are ready and have an addon for DX11. I think the PC demo looks great for DX9. Who knows what DX11 will look like.

Either way, I am getting both.

"From the videos i have been seeing the online looks boring and slow"

"But i will keep my mind opean till the final build of the game comes out."

So you watch videos online of Crysis 2 MP but you claim to have a 360 for gears but with your "open mind" you don't download the demo that is out for Crysis 2...

You are a joke dude.

Talk about a straw man argument. I said that consoles do not support DX11 or the DX11 features shown in the demo.

I did not say anything in that big list of features you put.

Not only that you do realize that, for example:

Motion Blur & Depth of Field

There are MANY ways to do MB and DOF and at varying quality. The point of the DX11 demo is it is done in such a quality and precise and method tha...

See below, OpenGL is a standard, OpenGL wont magically make the RSX be able to do things it can't physically do.

@nycredude

You should be facepalming.

DX3D is a standard, a spec, meaning to be a DX9 video card, the card must have certain features and abilities. This is similar to OpenGL. The RSX in the PS3 is a geforce 7 series nvidia GPU, a DX9 capable GPU. It is also an OpenGL 2.0 compliant card.

These tech demos are DX11. Xbox/PS3 have only DX9. This is for current PC's and whenever future consoles come out.

Jaggies are slightly resolved with SRAA but not as much as MSAA/SSAA. But the benefit here is thin edges (which is an issue with MLAA). Notice how the fences are COMPLETELY missing with no AA? That's because fences or foliage that have 2 or more edges near each other (thin objects like chain link fences or foliage at distance).

However, SRAA shows the fences (this is due to the sub-pixel reconstruction being done, this pulls in extra sub-pixel information that no-AA or ML...

Wow, I didn't even say I had an expensive PC or that I didn't own a console (I have an xbox and PS3, about 30 console games between the 2, and I also own a PC I built myself).

I believe in paying a fair price. When I buy a video card that is literally 20x more complex than what is in a console, I dont mind paying 300-500 bucks.

But PC games used to (and some still do, thank you Valve and others) have custom maps (and mods) we all could build ourselves...

If that program was properly designed for Windows, the fonts change along with the OS setting change. As for games, you have to hope the developer designed the game with the option to change font sizes, not Valve.

DPI/Fonts is the only issue here. That is an issue for any OS/system. Just needs to be adjusted accordingly.

Actually at least on PC games have programs like PB or VAC running that stops alot of the hacking big time. Not to mention on PC that if you are in a dedicated server and one of the players is an admin for the server, he can kick and ban the IP of the hacker.

Your comment sucks btw. I could say screw console, less chance of over priced DLC and games.

But that just would be nice or fair.

Bullshit, you can modify Windows all you want and release those modifications to other owners of a copy of windows.

There are laws for what you can do to your car IF you want to drive on public roads.

Keep your PS3 vanilla if you want to be on PSN.

But you should be free to do what you want with your PS3, including modify the OS and installing new browsers and so on (not stealing games), just stay off of Sony's PSN.

So what are you distributing? If you distribute instructions on how to unlock the PS3, wouldn't the people that use said instructions also have a license to use and modify their own PS3 they purchased?

This would make sense if a guy has a PC with windows installed and you hack windows and let it work on someone's PC that didn't own a copy of Windows.

So how can you distribute what the other person already has on their PS3? You are just giving inst...

If you have a big back yard, say an acre, and you have all dirt, you can drive around all you want and not need a license.

I seriously want to know what you see different between the MP in KZ3 and Crysis 2 and why Crysis 2 "does not hold a candle" to KZ3 MP.

Both have sprint and ADS and only crouch. Both have killstreaks (though in crysis 2 you need to collect the dropped dogtag to make it count as a deterrent to campers). Both have a "perk" system. Crysis 2 has classes support through what perks you choose while KZ3 has perks/abilities through a...
