While Valve isn't know for graphics RIGHT NOW, when HL2 trailers were shown and the game came out, it was mind blowing at the time. That only lasted for about a year and since then we have seen great looking games, but nothing that is pushing the boundaries, just highly polished compared to most other games these days.
While it is nice that Crysis 2 runs good on your laptop, what actually annoys PC gamers who spend 800 bucks on a high end gaming rig is that they are overkill for Crysis 2(and I consider $1200+ PC rigs with multi-TV/multi GPU enthusiast). Crysis 2 doesn't push PC at all. It is one hell of an engine and is AMAZING for DX9. I don't mind if they can make it run good on your laptop, JUST DON'T compromise the platform ability to do more than DX9.

Console memory limit for sure. I thought the same thing while playing one PC. It was insane how many load screens there were. Still a great game though.
PS, everything that you can buy is unlockable in game. Buying is just a shortcut to getting it faster. That is all.
Not just that. I think what I noticed the most was the size of the levels (meaning how many times you hit a load zone). I mean, in the first 15 minutes of the game, I had already hit 4 or 5 loading screens, sure they are fast since my comp is fast as hell, but it was pretty annoying.
Also, there weren't any real puzzles that required fast reflexes. This is mostly likely due to it being harder to do portal placing flying through the air, especially when you can even put ai...

I am guessing you didn't even play Gears 1 or 2, the very beginning of GoW1 had a big collasping building and the last level was on a moving train. And the MP had a train station where the train would pass by and smash players, and this was ALL in gears 1. In Gears 2 you had levels that would fill with imulsion or another level where an avalanche would come through.
I know you said you aren't bashing gears, but it sounds like you didn't play it. SO it really does ...

Not with 512RAM, but you could run Crysis 2 on PC on the lowest setting "console" and the 7900GTX can pull it off with 30FPS+.

For KZ3 thats bull. It's 4:3 instead of 16:9. Way too tiny. Should have done it AT LEAST like RE5.
I think it was purely done for performance reasons. Even in those tiny 4:3 boxes I would get framerate drops pretty bad.
It is how much EACH player players.
1 player plays for 10 hours is the same as 10 players only playing for 1 hour.
I dont know if it is hourly, but as you play, your playtime adds to the meter.
Also, different games require more or less "game time".
