The thing with Arma is there are no invisible walls, no areas where you are not allowed to go, it is open would but still keeps the detail unbelievably high.
The downside to Arma is character voice over and lip synching/lip animation, just terrible! Lol but the best simulator around.
@captain-obvious
Well it will be minimum in Summer 2012. That is when Arma 3 is scheduled to come out. Also, there is quite a range of i5 cpus, I assume they mean the slowest of the i5.
That's it?
It was just 1 glitch, and not even close to be called Epic.
Lame video and post :/
Let me know when dwarven donkey ladies are appearing.
@TheGameFoxJTV
Thanks I appreciate that. I am a long time gamer and I just like letting people know the facts.
There are taxes here as well, just depends on the state/county.
Sales Tax here is 8.25% :(
God California pisses me off sometimes. Thank goodness for Steam being out-of-state though :)
Dirt will seem like a racing sim compared to motorstorm (when assits are turned off and high difficulty) but even with assists, Dirt will still be much more realistic. Not being realistic is not bad, Motorstorm doesn't try for it and doesn't need to. I am just trying to give an idea of how they compare
Building FTW. You can make such a powerful for so cheap compared to Dell or especially Apple/MainGear.
On topic,
I just bought it on steam as well. Going to be outta town for the whole weekend though. Hope the world doesn't end or I will have wasted 5 bucks!!!! :P
Wow, I really like what they did for MP, lots of variety there for a racing game. I can't wait for this game.
Even if you can't build one, you can buy prebuilt from lots of vendors besides HP and Dell. It will cost more than building on your own of course, just stay away from going too high end (the faster a PC is, the more margin is on the price of the PC when you buy it prebuilt). Also stay away from Apple, MainGear or any "luxury" brand that charges an arm and a leg just because it is stylish. When you are gaming, you won't care if your computer looks amazing or not, let alone wo...
You build a PC that runs crysis 2 at 1080P at max settings for 600 bucks.
Considering most people spend 400 bucks for the "home computer", getting a gaming rig for 200-300 dollar more is quite affordable.
Once you got past around 1,000 dollars, you are now entering VERY high end gaming, meaning multi-GPU/multi-display
I am pretty sure your rank is tied to your PSN ID and kept on the Crysis 2 servers.
Don't think so, when Drake met Chloe on the beach, it looked like a first time meet.
Harry on the other hand, Drake knew of before.
Dude, you don't have to insult me. Reporting you as offensive.
I was specifically talking about being realtime, not in a game. And after having Crysis in 2007 with it's facial graphics quality (not animation), I don't see this video be far off either. Crysis already looked pretty damn close and even better in some aspects than those tech demos.
Take a chill pill with the insults. I didn't even call you out in any aggressive way.
If it is 1080P and 60FPS, I would like to see the other factors in graphics like:
LOD.
Texture resolution.
Average polygons on screen at once.
Complexity and amount of shaders being used.
Quality and amount of physics and interactivity/destruction.
Average number of objects/characters on screen at once.
Lighting/shadow quality and amount.
Any of todays games on consoles can be 1080P and at 60FPS, but you have to...
Pretty racist comment guy. When I read the local news site about a robbery and I see that it is black or mexican should I say "ugh, black people" or "ugh, mexicans"?
Reported as offensive.
DLC is fine if it is free. Even DLC that costs is fine as long as the price makes sense for the content.
Rehashed maps from old games or maps that are pulled right out of single player and some stupid walls put up to put borders on the map is utter garbage. Unfortunately, a lot of DLC is just that...
Considering this:

and this

was realtime back in 2006 on PC with the 8 series of nvidia...
That can be done on PC realtime with current hardware easy.
Unified architecture was and is obviously a great thing, but the PERFORMANCE of the GPU was still slower than what you could do on PC. Again, no doubt that UA is great, but the rest of the GPU and the system still was behind what was available for PC at the time. That is obviously what we are talking about, performance. You might as well bring up the Wii's motion controls and that PC doesn't have it (as far as I know) and say the Wii is ahead.
The 360 only has 512MB f...
Oh man, I remember the days where almost all the keys on the keyboard did something, and then you hold control or shift and then they all did something else...
It's not the graphics that people really care about, its the fact that they make so much money off the game, sequels SHOULD be getting some real engine updates. COD4 was a great modification of the id tech 3 engine, but each version after has had MINOR changes and even gone backwards sometimes (cod5 moving to filtered shadow edges and MW2 going BACK to cod4 with unfiltered.)
And its the gameplay that really deserves the criticism. It is horribly unbalanced and has gone ca...
