@DragonKnight
We have the right that when WE BUY SOMETHING that we own it, it is OUR property. Now, that doesn't mean we can start making a business out of it and sell the modded firmware. (However, you ARE allowed to mod a physical item and sell it, it's YOUR property to sell! Just don't set up a business selling modded property. But you are welcome to make money modding OTHER peoples property, so long as the mod you are doing is legal.) It applies to software as...
Piracy is a form of homebrew? You have no idea how source code and programs work do you?
You have no idea what homebrew is. You just generalize that word as well. I suppose you think a mod like Counter Strike shouldn't exist? That the creators of the mod can take no credit in the work they did to modify the HL engine and assets to create a new game?
That is just one example of the general term of "homebrew". The term is usually used for programs...
I am talking about the look/theme. And Killzone itself is not the first game to have a dark theme and a reflex sight on an M4 looking gun and fingerless gloves...
I didn't even bring up Terminator games.
Come on, you know what I am trying to say. When people post an article about a mod, name it, even mention what engine the mod is using at least (UDK), not some other game title.
Also, there is a reply button, this is getting all over the place.
I wasn't saying anything against the mod. The mod is awesome, I am all for it.
I was simply stating that when you posted this on N4G, you didn't even title this Terminator mod (Instead he called it "Great Indie shooter") and referenced "PS3 Exclusive Killzone".
I feel the title was setup as partial flamebait/debate for hits, when you should be honest about what is being posted and give the thing a proper title and description.
This is the Terminator mod for UDK on PC...should state that in the article instead of "Great Indie shooter" and comparing it to Killzone.
Terminator was before Killzone. Just because it's dark and the game uses motion blur (which other games have done before Killzone) doesn't mean it's a clone.
Am I getting old or are people forgetting the movie Terminator 2 and the scenes in the future...

Why do you think all hackers are in one massive group?
I support a consumer being able to do what he/she wants with his/her property. (Homebrew)
I do not support piracy.
I do not support fraud and/or stealing CC/bank info.
The world is not this simplified Hackers Vs. Corporation. Acting like it is so simple shows how little you know about the situation and the groups involved. It's the same thing with people not knowing t...
@Derek-Flint
Whether or not Homicide is a fanboy, you totally took what he said and created a straw man argument and acted like he stated that you should sell your PS3. Not only that, but you then initiate your own fanboyism and start talking about the 360.
Marked for trolling
(Unless Homicide had something else besides "Just goes to show how much Sony fell in just a few years. The PSN hack might the final nail.", I stand by what I ...
It is slower, the rolls are now slower than sprinting. That was so stupid in gears2. Rolling forward over and over was faster than sprinting, so dumb.
I absolutely love the lower movement speed, slower reloading speed, and the increased spread/inaccuracy of weapons (ESPECIALLY when moving or not in cover). It REALLY helps force the MP of gears to remain tactical and force you into cover more.
Uncharted is not the first game to use jungle trees and italian-sytled buildings......geeze.
I can't believe how many "gaming journalists" don't know about the industry they write in. If you are going to talk about things, you better have facts and knowlegde...
...like understand the difference between phishing and hacking....
Are you kidding? Steam alone peaks at 3 million users online a day. That's concurrent users, not ALL steam users. And that is just steam, not anything else.
You can't even spam grenades when you spawn in BC2, you spawn literally 10-25x the throwing distance of a grenade. In COD maps, nearly every map is small enough to throw grenades from one spawn zone to another....
No passwords? What are you talking about? You have a password on XBL also...
Comparing an OS to an Online gaming network.
N4G kids, they think they know everything about technology since they bought a damn console...
Ridiculous.
How the hell am I being a dick? When you make a blanket statement like "only developer", don't get mad when people call you out. I am sure there are other games that give out points per damage as well, not just these two.
And then you go and try to insinuate that they copied Insomniac. Classy man.
Ever play gears of war 2??????
Uh, it is not hacking. If I tricked someone into giving me their login info and I then log into their account, I didn't hack into the system or use an exploit of the system code. No computer hacking.
SOCIAL ENGINEERING/PHISHING =/= HACKING.
Geeze. N4G, seriously uninformed when it comes to the basics of tech.
@BattleAxe
The problem with GFWL is that it is not slick. It's menu/guide is slow and LOW resolution. Games download and THEN need to install. On steam, game download and they are done, they don't install. The ONLY thing that sometimes installs on steam is any program besides the game that is needed/optional (PB, SDK's, DX runtimes, etc) which also install on GFWL. Steam's overlay runs much better, scales with your resolution perfectly, has a browser, allows c...
